How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We stayed here 2 different times. Once at the beginning of our vacation in Peru and we decided to return for the last 2 nights of it. We decided to return because it s quiet. We have checked a bunch of other hotels reviews, and people were complaining about the outside noise. What you need to know if you re coming from Europe is that the windows are not double glazed and they do not close completely. The amenities are ok, clean, and the breakfast was good.

room and bathroom were quite small, - I don't know why, but we could choose our breakfast only once. The other days they just bring it to our table without asking what we want.

Staff only spoke Spanish, communication was difficult. Asked for a lunch package because we had to leave early at 7am, they agreed, but when we left in the morning there was someone else who didn’t know anything about it and insisted breakfast was only from 8 am.
Water was hot, bed really comfy. Could leave our luggage at the hotel when we arrived.

The steps to upper floors are narrow making it difficult to carry big suitcases. The owners do not speak English so it's a bit difficult to communicate.
It's in a peaceful area yet very near to the beach. Close to nice bars and main road.

Hotter water in shower. Was OK.
Quiet, old-fashioned and lovely decor, location 3 blocks from cliffs overlooking ocean and close to cafes and restaurants, nice bed, good fan.

Hotel isn't well identified, I wasn't sure I was in the right place when our Uber drove up to it Bathroom vent fan didn't seem to be working Shower hot water tap is finicky, had to really mess with it to get it to turn properly Room was rather warm, did have a small fan but a/c would have been better.
Super nice staff, very accommodating Soft comfortable bed and great pillows Super clean Hot shower (like EXTREMELY hot!) Fresh made breakfast included

Perhaps not great value for money, but location is excellent.
Staff were very helpful, showed us different rooms upon arrival and allowed us to change rooms. Room was good.

Room was extremely small, the equipment is old and damaged (probably by the humidity) The shower was inside the room, literally you get out the shower directly to the room. There were ants in the room. The breakfast was awesome on the first day but on the second and third day was poorer and poorer.
Perfect location! Super friendly and helpful staff WiFi was good

Though it is a rather cheap room, a bit maintenance would be nice (lights next to bed almost fell apart, ceiling and tapestry is worn)

- From 7:30 to 17:30 there is construction work literally next to the building (very very loud!) - Room is not soundproof - Room is not insulated (very cold at night) - Warm water sometimes did not work - Not a lot of socializing for solo travelers

Water pressure was quite low.

We stayed first in a room that wasn't well isolated since the window let the cold air pass through. The 2nd one was perfect.
The main thing that I liked during my long stay there was the friendliness of the staff! They were amazing, helpful and very kind. The location of the hotel is centric in Miraflores, close to many interesting areas and to the main street. The breakfast was good enough. Our 1st room was a bit cold, the second one was much better and more spacious.
