Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThese are only very minor points, the wooden floor in my bedroom had been over polished and I nearly skidded a few times in bare feet, but flip flops sorted this out. The other minor thing was that I was phoned by hotel staff at 8.15am one morning to say breakfast service had already finished, which I thought was a little early to be honest.
Perfect location, close to the main square, you can see the ruins on the mountain side from the grounds, only a few minutes walk from the train station for Machu Picchu or Cusco. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff.

United StatesThe mattresses were extremely hard. The noise in the surrounding area was terrible. Even though the hotel couldn't do anything about this, they could require that the tour busses that park right beneath the room windows be considered of the hours.
Very nice hotel.

Lovely hotel + gardens, just 5 mins walk from the train station in Ollantaytambo - a quiet oasis! We added this hotel to our itinerary after coming off the Expedition Train from Machu Picchu - excellent choice. A peaceful, rest from the trek. Lovely grounds to walk in. Large room with good facilities +wi-fi. Good staff. Good food in restaurant. Would highly recommend.

United KingdomWe got overcharged. The receptionist accidentally entered our payment in soles instead of dollars then after some superfast sleight of hand calculations topped it up in dollars. When I got home and checked my bank account more had gone out than should have done. Hot water was sporadic. Sometimes there wasn't any. Bed was made rather messily; bottom sheet was a bit slippy. Nevertheless if we were in Ollantaytambo again I would stay here again.
A truly beautiful place. View was stupendous. Location perfect - very near the station. Staff lovely. Lots of coca tea. Nice breakfast too.

NetherlandsThe lack of sound isolation. We didnt'have to wake up eraly that morning but we were waken up by other guest taking the 5 am train. Not very handy of the staff to put us in a room downstairs. You could hear everything around. The floor also makes a horrible sound when you walk on it with sneakers.
Breakfast was good. We could have used some salt at the tables.

It’s a beautiful property, away from the noise and crowds of the main town. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. The room was the largest we stayed in during our month in Peru and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast.

United StatesCompletely unplanned, we spent two nights in Ollantaytambo due to an agricultural strike that blocked all the roads and the railroad in and out of town, including the train to Machu Picchu. And although we never made it to Machu Pichu, we are so happy we got to spend two nights at this gorgeous property. They basically opened the hotel just for us and couldn’t have been more helpful while we we trying to figure out if the train was going to operate and how to get back to Cusco to catch our plane. The rooms are very comfortable but what makes this hotel extraordinary are the gardens that surround the buildings where the guest rooms are located. The views of the surrounding mountains were amazing, the air smelled of flowers and plants, and we were lulled to sleep by the sound of water running through the property and awaken in the morning by the birds chirping. The location was also excellent, only a three minute walk down to the train station and about 7-8 minutes up to the main square. The hotel has a gate that remains locked and you have to ring a bell to enter, which is reassuring for those worried about safety, although we never felt unsafe in this little town, and we walked around a lot both at night and during the day. The breakfast was excellent, buffet style with a lot of choices, and so was the one dinner we ate there. We will return to Peru to see Machu Picchu and we will stay at this hotel again!
