How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I was cold but I was here in rainy season and it's to be expected. I thought I'd be cold at night as well but the bedding was really warm.
Roberto is the kindest, most helpful man. Nothing was too much trouble for him and made sure my stay was comfortable and easy. I was so grateful to him for the help he gave me. I kept extending and he was very accommodating.

They didn't have anyone at the check out desk to the payment so we had to wait until they called us, which was late enough that we were already in bed.
Close to the bus station which is why we chose this place.

Could have fruits in the breakfast and the shower could get hot quickly, especially at night.
I liked the fresh juice in the breakfast and all attention for any help from Roberto, the manager.

The hotel was freezing, and because of the layout I could hear everything from the lobby and breakfast room in my room, it woke me up a few times.
Overall it was clean, comfortable, and a good place to fight your altitude sickness. It definitely wasn't luxurious, but it was a good price and close enough to walk everywhere in Cusco. The breakfast was fine, it was definitely a step up from the average continental breakfast with freshly made eggs and juice.

The room can be cold at night like most properties in Cusco. There were loads of blankets to keep us warm. it is a little bit away from the Plaza de Arms so if you want somewhere close to the centre maybe look right inside the historic district.
We stayed here for three nights before our Machu Picchu trek. The property is clean and well maintained. Roberto was very attentive throughout our stay and let us store our backpacks for 5 days at no cost. The included breakfast is nice with eggs and bread and fruit juice.

The moment I entered the hallway, it was cold. it was also cold in the room and they gave me an electric heater, but, still, it didn’t work. Also, the water wasn’t really hot.
The location is great with many shops and restaurants nearby. the bathroom has a bathtub.

The hot water seems to be turned off at night.
Great location. Extremely accommodating staff. Roberto is super nice and welcoming. Walking distance to Plaza Las Armas and many places to visit. Comfortable. Free breakfast was nice. I would stay here again.

I couldn't figure out how to make the hot water to work
Location and value. Big room and big bathroom. Breakfast was good. A block away from mercado wanchaq, really cheap prices if you're looking to eat or buy fruits

Pillows needed replacing. Flat and uncomfortable but the mattress was good.
I chose this hotel because it had bathtub in a private room for a great value. Manager made sure I had everything I needed.

The room was dirty, smelled musty and the bedsheets and towels were not properly cleaned either. The whole hotel would need a deep cleaning and a fresh coat of paint at least.
The staff was very nice, helpful and always responsive. The location is ideal, between the main bus station and the old centre (both few min. walking distance).

We had an amazing stay in Hotel Peru Real. The location is very good, we were walking everywhere. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The best part is the staff. They are so helpful and welcoming. Roberto made our stay incredible. He helped us book all our tours, adjusted it to our schedule and genuinly cared that we were safe and happy. If you go to Cusco, book everything with the Hotel, not online. We had the best help and would reccomend everyone to do the same. Thank you Roberto and the rest of the staff 🫶🏽

Roberto is such a lovely and caring guy who did everything possible to make us feel comfortable. The rooms are quite ok, the breakfast is delicious, 24/7 they provide (coca) tea, coffee and water. You can book all kind of tours directly in the hotel and Roberto will take care of everything. The Wifi was very good. The rooms were cleaned every. Thanks to Roberto and John for making our stay so great.

Perfect stay.
The hotel is a relaxing stay, peaceful little spot with friendly staff and a good breakfast. Roberto was so helpful and answered every question I had. He assisted in my Machu Picchu trip and organized everything. Definitely would recommend this location. 10/10
