Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe room was a bit cold, but we had extra blanket to keep us warm. You can also feel a bit of damp smell in the room, but nothing too bothering.
Great location, close to everything. Lots of restaurants, spas etc in the area. Close to Machu Picchu ticket and bus ticket stations. 5 min walk from where you need to take the bus to Machu Picchu. Our host was extraordinary, she went to great lengths to ensure our stay and experience is as comfortable as possible. We were looking to rent some hiking sticks to climb the Machu Picchu mountain and she offered us a pair. She also recommended us the BEST massage place ever!! If you need a guide for Machu Picchu visit she can recommend some good ones. The breakfast was good, we had fresh eggs in the morning, ham, cheese, fruits, freshly squeezed juices and tea.

CanadaThe rooms are small and without windows to the outside (windows into the hall) and can feel damp (it rains a lot) but overall were very clean (sheets/towels/bathroom).
This hotel is very pleasant for a stay in Aquas Calientes. They pick you up from the train station and walk you to the hotel (with umbrellas, if it's pouring!). They provide you with great information about Machu Picchu, and don't try to upsell any guiding/services. The breakfast is very good value- you can customize based on eating preferences. The hotel is very convenient to the Thermal Baths, and not far from the main heart of Aquas Calientes.

United StatesThere was locked storage for luggage but no safe in the room. Probably not an issue . Most people don’t bring valuables to MP and the luggage storage was fine.
Our hostess Rina, was exceptional. We speak Spanish, if you don’t, she speaks English well. She provided a nice breakfast in the am. She was very helpful with food recommendations for dinner. We had already been to MP, we stayed over to use the thermal pools. It is on the edge of town, close to the pools so likely as quiet as you will find. Not far from the shuttle buses. Free wifi in the room. Rina even got up super early to make sure we had breakfast the day we left!

ThailandThe internet network was not reliable but the geografical location of the town is a challenger to count on steady connections.
The staff Milagros, Flor, and Lina were above and beyong by providing useful information, tips, and services. The Place is perfectly fine for one or two nights at Aguas Calientes. The town is lively and sharming.

CanadaThe hotel is in a good location. It is cozy and clean. Rina is an excellent host. She picked us up in the train station, took us to the ticket office to buy bus tickets, and recommend a good English speaking tour guide. We had a good time in Machu Picchu and she made our trip even better.

United KingdomSuper option when visiting Machu Picchu. We were met from the train & it's only a short walk up the main street to the hostal. Despite being on the main street it was very quiet & peaceful at night. Rina & her partner were brilliant, offering really helpful advice, even some walking poles & storing our luggage on the last day. The room was nice & breakfast was great, especially the coffee. MaPi town is small so everything is only a 5 min walk away. Would definitely stay here if we ever visit again.

United KingdomNothing. It was all good.
Clean and comfortable room. Hot shower and good wi if. Fantastic host - Rina - who met us at the train station to take us to the property and help us with luggage . She even brought spare umbrellas with her as we arrived in the rain. Rina speaks good English. She made us tea and brought it to the room. The property is at the top of the town and it’s a quick walk down to the bus in the morning for a Macchu Picchu visit. Restaurants and shops close by. Short walk to the hot springs. Good breakfast.
