Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Statesit's 40 min by car from the city as it's in the jungle. most tours not arranged by the hotel won't pick you up from the hotel and booking taxi service is pricy / tricky. something to keep in mind - might be best if you want a relaxing vacation nestled in jungle mostly onsite with occasional tours but not if you wanna do many full day tours to places like moyobamba or laguna Azul, as you can really only do tours by the hotel and you can't know those too far in advance. also unfortunately most of the tour guides from the hotel don't speak English. I was still able to enjoy the tours since they're nature focused but it was a barrier. it's in the jungle so there will be bugs! (not as many as I expected)
beautiful view; great, clean room with hot strong shower; good tours conveniently available from the hotel; amazing food at the restaurant, including free breakfast; nestled in jungle so you get to be immersed in sounds of nature and wildlife; great swimming pool with awesome view.

Location is unbeatable, right by the Huallaga River. Waking up to the sounds of the rainforest is priceless. If you're looking for a secluded place to disconnect from the outside world this is it.

CanadaI have nothing to declare here. Everything was on-point, from the welcome cocktail to all the services and tours provided.
The staff is exceptionally kind and helpful. A big thank to Miguel, our driver, for the nice rides and explanations! The food at the hotel restaurant is delightful. From the breakfast to the dinner you will enjoy a great selection of local dishes, all cooked with fresh ingredients from the jungle.

CanadaIt's located 1 hr away from Tarapoto, it's absolutely worthwhile. No AC in the rooms, wich can be pretty hard with 38°C, and the levels of humidity of the Amazon.
Everything, the place is amazing, the restaurant has really good food, and good drinks. Amazing pull and views, in the middle of the jungle. The natural pool and the path are such a nice add to an already amazing place to stay.

United StatesSince it’s an hour away you gotta rent a private van or car to go to the hotel. it’s not easy to get there if you don’t rent a car in advance (you can do it through the hotel). There’s no phone service here, and the wifi didn’t work very well, I had to work some hours there and I had trouble connecting to the wifi. Food at the restaurant is nothing memorable, kind of bland; and you gotta eat there because there’s nothing around. Also, the staff can care a bit more about customer service and not behave like they hate their job :). The bar didn’t have any other drinks besides Macerados. i feel like this lodge also need more vibes and ambiance. If you stay here more than 3 days I feel like it can get boring. Another thing we noticed, is that when we checked in we didn’t get any info about the happy hour and some features the hotel had, and found out when other people were checking in. The thing we didn’t like is, we saw tourists (foreigners) getting tours of the hotel and getting a detail explanation about the hotel when checking in, but we got a 5 min check in without them telling us anything or showing us anything about the hotel LOL! We stayed in so many nice hotels when we traveled and we’ve never been treated a different way just because we looked “locals” or didn’t look “foreign”. We were not expecting for them to treat us like royalty but I mean if you’re paying/leaving S/.2000 in a hotel in 2 days the least you expect is the staff to treat EVERYONE the same way. Would we be back? Yes, because this place is too beautiful to get ruined by a bad experience of a person.
This lodge is really beautiful, just like the pictures. It’s located like an hour away from Tarapoto. We stayed in a suite and the view from the room was amazing! waking up everyday with that view just made your day better instantly. Breakfast is included, and it was good everyday! They also have a restaurant for lunch and dinner. The pool is big enough for people to hang out without feeling like a public pool. Drinks at the bar are decent. This lodge also offers some tours inside and outside the hotel, even if you don’t take them you can walk around the property and feel like you’re in the real jungle. they also have a waterfall/natural pool in the hotel which was nice for the hot days!

SwitzerlandFirst, even though they confirmed in advance via Whatsapp that the tours will be run at the specified dates at a specified cost (i.e., if there are are no other guests you will enjoy a private tour at the usual rate), they tried to charge more for such private tour. Only after telling them that this was unacceptable they finally arranged the tour at no additional cost. Second, unfortunately, I have to confirm earlier reportings of robbery. Part of my money was stolen while I was out of the room (I did not put it in the safety deposit box though).
It‘s a great place to unwind in nature. The lodges are great, hot water, comfy beds. Restaurant and bar staff excellent, the cook is great.

PeruThe room we stayed in had 2 holes in a bathroom window, all the mosquitos and insects were getting in thru there and we couldn't sleep at all, very uncomfortable 😣 no solution for us the first night, in reception we asked for a spray or smt, they didn't have any so they told us they COULDN'T spray anything to save some animals 🫠 for the price we payed I expected a better room and service.
The location is gorgeous!!! The restaurant is amazing as well, all the food is very good, breakfast is great too!

United Arab EmiratesVery poor communication with the administrationof the hotel and the reservation desk. DO NOT BOOK THE CANOPY ROOM! It's the 'most expensive' room available, but the doors are not constructed well (we had to kick the door every time we had to open it), the bathrooms and water don't work, and the fact that it's surrounded by trees, there is no mosquito net, which means our bed was full of bugs at night! Like crawling in our pillows. Also, they publish incorrect photos of the canopy rooms, making it look A LOT bigger than they actually are. Which they are a bit deeper into the foresty area, not worth the price they charge at all, especially since the reservation desk is actually a bit clueless of what goes into each room. Go for the double bed or the suite (suite is the only one with A/C, if that concerns you). Also, when we asked our rooms to be changed, they gave us discounts, but on DIFFERENT ROOM RATES (lower) than what were published on their reservation platform, and essentially gave us back (in consumption at the restaurant, not in cash) 120 USD less than what they should have. Also, for 2 nights, no pillows were provided and we had to take them from other empty rooms - not something you should do if you're paying upwards of 120 USD per room. Be sure to check the bathrooms and water in your bathroom before you check in completely, because even in the new room that was given to us, the flush wouldn't work well and no effort was put in to fix it. DON'T BOOK the night tour unless you're sure you will go. Even though they are carried out by the same hotel staff, they charge you before hand and if for some reason you can't make it (in our case, 2 of us fell a bit sick), they charge you anyways saying "we already paid our staff the money for the tour, even if you didn't take it". Which is the weirdest thing I've ever heard.
The location was amazing, serene, quiet and green! And with a great pool, as well as the river and a natural pool! And the suite room is excellent, by far the best in the entire lodge. Also, the food and service of the restaurant/bar is top notch.
