How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Our room had no window but it was no real problem for us.
The host was really friendly and extremely flexible! We could leave our backpacks there several times and could text him anytime when needed. The kitchen was well equipped, hot water showers all the time and the guesthouse is in a good location. For this price the best stay we had in Peru so far. We would come back any time! Thank you Carlos!

Would be nicer if it had a common area.
Amazing location, best value place we could find and the kitchen is a very important plus. Carlos was really nice and helped us a lot with luggage storage.

Occasionally the power would go out, but was always resolved within an hour
The accomodation was great, well priced, perfect location right between the City Centre and San Blas. Carlos was really helpful and offered some great deals for tours

No hanger inside shower rooms
The host is super nice. He helped me buying medicine when i was feeling sick. The room is comfortable and bed is soft with enough blankets. Hot water provided.

The host doesn't reply very efficiently, slow response rate, hostel doesn't have reception so we have to contact the host i, the tour price are the same everywhere in Cusco. Hot water either too extreme, not suitable to take shower, if i mixed the cold water then the water will turn to freezing cold. I rarely take a shower during a week, because of the overly hot. There are no way to adjust the hot water
Nice colour of the guest house, free kitchen and refrigerator to use, excellent WiFi speed and not far from the main square, probably the cheapest private room with shared kitchen in the city

Great spot. Carlos was super helpful, let us keep our backpacks there while we did the Salkantay trek. He spoke great English and helped us change money and helped us out through Cuzco.

We had a room downstairs and because of the wooden floors it was really noisy when guests above us got up at 3 am in the morning to leave for a tour.
Carlos Guest house is perfect if you need a clean and cheap place to stay in Cusco. It's located in a quiet side street. It's super close to all sightseeing spots. It has a well equipped kitchen to use and hot water in the shower. Carlos is an incredible helpful host! Communication over what's app was perfect. We could store luggage there.

The guest house is central to everything in the historic Cusco area. San Blas Market is located up the block from the property. The kitchen is equipped with the basics for cooking. Carlos is friendly and knowledgeable of the area. This was my second stay, and Carlos made me feel welcomed.

the place can be quite chilly. but we got very cold weather and you won’t get any warmer rooms in the city unless you hire a heater or you go for pricy hotels

Carlos was very helpful and friendly. He arranged for me to be picked up at the airport. The room was clean, and he provided warm blankets for the cold nights of Peru. The water in the showers is perfectly warm. The guest house is walking distance to different places. Also there's a small kitchen to use and he offers to store ones luggage. Thank you, Carlos.

Cute room with nice decoration. Comfortable bed with thick blankets so wasn't cold at night. Well equipped kitchen with lots of stoves so multiple people can cook. Everything was really clean. Carlos was really accommodating and helped us check in early when we needed to use WiFi to make a call after arriving on a night bus. He's easy to communicate with and replies quickly. He can also help with booking tours and stores luggage when you're on tours. WiFi worked well and it was close to the main square and a large Plaza Vea supermarket. Amazing value for money.

Very quaint authentic house. Wifi is very good Big kitchen Very comfy beds with warm blankets Lots of cheap tours available to everything if you don't want to do it yourself. It is cheaper than the online tours.

Some rooms only have a window to inside the house and there is only one light which is cold.
Really cozy old house decorated with nice plants and a friendly owner. I've paid a lot more for less quality. It was super clean and nice.

Cleaner bathroom

Most of the common areas were super dirty, especially the upstairs bathroom which had so much hair on the floor and usually could not flush…. Also no water at all in the property when we arrived after a very long bus ride

Room was very basic, cold, dark. - Quite common in Cusco, but still a bit underwhelming. Very little hot water, no ventillation, damp air - clothes/towels can't dry properly. Common areas aren't clean.
Very good location. Kind, communicative, reachable host, helped also with taxi arrangement from train station. We were offered to keep our luggage, even after check out.
