Fun place along the Salkontay Trail. It was comfortable with very good food and a friendly host.who gave lots of good information on the trail ahead. We liked that we could hear the river from the property. Definitely exceeded our expectations.

Skip the guided tours, do the Salkantay Trek independently, and stay at this hostel! It's run by a lovely couple who will take good care of you during your stay and after, as Manuel and Jaqueline will give you invaluable advice for the next day on your trek. Very comfortable room and good food too, highly recommended!

Manuel, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay. He even helped us cross a serious landslide that had taken place that same day. He is a very caring host. Furthermore, the dinner and breakfast were very nice and filling

The stay was amazing! After hiking the 2nd day of Salkantay unguided it was so nice to come to the clean rooms with hot showers and great food! I can recommend it 100%. The owner is super sweet and was very worried about our security.

Conveniently located in Caulley. Hot showers in your room! ThE BEST dinner we've had on our trek. Super friendly hosts who were very attentive and accommodating. Beds were plenty warm.

The host was SO helpful and friendly and welcoming. After a long day of hiking I couldn’t have been more thankful. The rooms were phenomenal, with warm comforters, and hot showers too. Towels and soap were provided which was so appreciated. The view was absolutely gorgeous as well.

After a long day of hiking over the Salkantay Pass, the Salkantay Hostel Chaullay was just what we needed! The rooms are clean and well decorated, beds are comfortable, and the shower was hot. There is also wifi, although you won’t need it because you’ll enjoying the beautiful views. Manuel, the owner, was also one of the best hosts we have stayed with. He made us an incredible dinner and breakfast and also helped us book/arrange transportation to zipline nearby. He goes above and beyond to ensure that each guest staying with him knew where they were going the next day, which was so helpful and appreciated when doing the Salkantay without an official tour group. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Beautifully built property by Manuel and his friend. Best room on the trek. Manuel cooked a beautiful meal for us and we had a wonderful time at dinner hearing his story. This is really what makes trekking so special in Peru, connecting with the locals and hearing their amazing stories.

The room had some issues that are worth noting considering the price... the door did not completely seal the room so the cold wind could enter. There were no curtains to cover the windows. Also, no light next to the mirror (making it impossible to use), no shelves or hooks of any kind and also no soap... I think if these small things would be corrected this would be a real gem because the room has great potential.

We arrived very tired after a long day of walking and received kindly. The dinner was really excellent! The bed was comfortable, the shower had hot water and the Wifi was good.
