Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayThe room felt rather chilly and humid - towels didn't dry overnight when we hung them up, and the floors were cold. The blankets on the bed didn't match in size, so even though the bed itself was wide and comfortable, we ended up sleeping huddled together to be properly covered by the blankets. No elevator. The jacuzzi in our bathroom had been disconnected and could not be used, so then it just took up a lot of space, and the tap in the sink didn't fit properly, so that water ended up on the counter and the floor.
Interesting interior design with lots of fun details. Spacious room. Hotel bar. Good location in a calm and quiet part of Cusco, with a pretty square right nearby. Good breakfast.

FinlandStaff is nice and friendly, but not always so professional. I have to clear out several times my second booking, the days and the price, and still they walk to my room cause another one thought I have leff. And before that, on the very first morning serviceman walk to my room, I dont know why. These Just tells, the control system doesnt work.
I was there twice, so I was pleased. Beautiful building, peaceful neighbourhood and easy short walk to old centre. Clean rooms, no bugs. Good shower. Nice beds, pillows and linen. Good value for your money. They were flexible and I got early check~iin as soon it was possible.

Fairly spacious, with good bathroom. Had a jacuzzi bath and shower. TBC.... Good location. 10 minutes walk from the main square. Heater in room if necessary. Nice shower and fluffy towels.

United KingdomIf you are looking for a quiet place this might not be for you. The hotel rooms don’t really isolate sound so it does get pretty noisy. To get to your room you walk across foyer’s mezzanines, which means that if your room is on the second floor (like mine was) you can easily hear people talking on the ground floor. Not a big deal for me, it’s still a beautiful hotel.
Hotel was really nice, very particular design. The location was the best part as it’s walking distance to Plaza de Armas which has many shops, restaurants and great bars. I recommend visiting the República del Pisco!! The stuff was very friendly, the rooms were very great sized as well as a very comfy bed. Absolutely loved the shower! Massive and great pressure. I’d definitely stay here again.

NetherlandsActually everything was perfect for 5 days, except for the fact that we had a bath that didn't work, but that didn't influence our trip much. The checkout however, was very poor. None of our cards were accepted, which is strange for such a luxury hotel, and in all others it worked fine. As a payment link was also not possible, we had to run to an ATM to get cash, as we had to catch a bus at a certain time. We had to get cash twice, so we had quite some extra withdrawal fee costs because of that. On top of that, they did not have any change, because the hotel lady went with us to the ATM without any. This made the next part of our holiday quite more stressful.
Great rooms, decent location, good room service and food for Peruvian hotel standards, and all the personnel was super welcoming and friendly. Overall a great hotel, especially at the discounted price that we got. Not sure if I'd pay the regular price however, but to each his own.

United KingdomWe had accumulated quite a lot of laundry from back packing around Argentina so we decided to use the Laundry service. Our white clothing came back absolutely ruined. I think they had been washed with a darker item which is completely unacceptable. The Clothes damaged by the laundry service included: a pure white linen shirt and matching linen shorts, 1 North Face pure white t- shirt, 1 free people white top and 1 Nasa pure white t-shirt ( all expensive designer brands) The NASA t-shirt and North Face t-shirts were not only returned to us grey but had orange stains splatted all over (i would describe as rust?) The Only compensation offered to us was 40 sol ( half the cost of the laundry service we used). Quite ridiculous, considering £200 worth of our clothing was completely ruined.

GermanyRooms have no outside windows even though it was stated here that we would have a Mountain View, therefore the rooms were rather dark. The staff was also very inflexible, when we mentioned the Mountain View, the only solutions they offered were to sleep in another hotel by the airport or pay 30$ extra per night for a bigger room. The option to check out late would have cost us 30$ extra. They wouldn’t change our bills as well when we needed it.

United KingdomI paid for an upgraded room with a massage bath & a mini bar- I got no mini bar, no fridge, no bath... My bathroom had a window through to the next room... the light from that window fell directly on my face at night and woke me up, I could hear every conversation and child's cry from the people in the next room and I was woken every time they turned the bathroom light on- they arrived in the middle of the night when I was rising for a 3am trip to Machu Picchu the following day, then 2 days later another 3am trip to Rainbow Mountain... I could get no sleep as they were back at 11pm- 11.30pm when I was trying to sleep... It was ridiculous... The staff on the desk were lovely & helpful although they did not have good English, they tried... but my room was a huge let down!

CanadaThis place is not as advertized. When we booked, the pricing and photos suggested a tasteful, colonial style hotel. The place is faux with chintz everywhere. Cheap furniture spray painted gold. Some possibly nice but now ruined furniture spray painted gold. Garrish and tacky decor everywhere. Inside our family room, the allegedly present soundproofing did not help keep out the ?water pump noises all night, nor the sounds of the early morning cleaners. One bed had dirty sheets (they were laundered and pressed in a neatly made bed but pulling back the covers revealed a large old blood stain). Minimal service at check in. The barest breakfast buffet I have ever seen (likely due to the almost empty state of the place). This place would be an amusing kitsch hostel if it were a tenth of the price. As it is, it is an outrageous con job of a colonial style hotel. We chose to eat a financial penalty to move to a beautiful and similarly priced boutique hotel just around the corner. Unless you enjoy being on the receiving end of tourist extortion business plans, steer well clear.
There was one attentive member of staff who was running a very minimal breakfast service single handed. Otherwise, I have nothing positive to stay about our intended week long stay at this grossly misrepresented hotel. We left after only one night.

United KingdomThe flush in our toilet did not work. The bathtub was completely clogged after one person showered. The room was in front of a common space which the staff was cleaning from very early in the morning and it was impossible to sleep after 5:30am. wifi service very poor. When we complained, the receptionist was absolutely rude and almost yelling at us that we complained to the cleaning staff. We had booked two nights but ended up staying only one and left the morning after.

United Kingdomif you’re on the top, like I was, the Wi-Fi becomes nonexistent. I needed to make calls on FaceTime and it would not connect.. the hotel should consider more modems / routers so that the Wi-Fi is more evenly distributed.
