How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Honestly no complaints at all. Great stay.
Can't say enough good about it. Breakfast was great, staff was also. Room was great there. No ac or heater but it's peru and to be expected. Water was nice and hot.

Breakfast. The first point, we got freshly squeezed orange juice, and instant coffee. Come on, we are in Peru, and we are having a Nestle ness-coffee for breakfast, not acceptable. We waited for some time for orange juices to be ready, I cannot drink it due to my health condition, and I was n.ot offered any alternative. I went out and get a coffee and a cereal bar to keep me going
The location is excellent, just next to the bus terminal for Machu Picchu. The view was lovely, it was a lovely sleep, and lovely view on the river. So lovely to sleep next to the murmur of the river. What an experience.

The room was too small for 4 beds. There were no space for us to move and our baggages. There was no shampoo
The hotel is at a good location. The personel was really polite and helpful.

Somewhat noisy, because of proximity to main streets.
Very clean and the room fairly well maintained. Close to needed transportation. Bagged a lunch when we left too early for breakfast.

The receptionist promised to provide breakfast box togo at 5:30 for going to Machupicchu, but didn't provide. No body was in the counter at 5:30.
Location is very good, near the bus station.

it was bery close to alot of shopping area and the bus transportation to Machu picchu. they also hold your belongs while you adventurous to machu picchu on check out day with no cost

It would be good if the various parts of breakfast was drawn out with pictures, so we could point (for the staff not speaking English) – rather than assuming we wanted all of it, then a lot of food wasted.
As a last-minute booking, this was a good choice, with a lovely room & balcony. The sound of the river rushing past was really soothing (“white noise”) & facilities excellent. Although it was a bit further than I thought from the Hot Springs, its upside was the proximity to the train and bus stations.

We were told that the above "hotel" was under maintenance and were taken after long waiting to another place , poor service and bad clumsy excuses. Hygiene is quite low level and for the charges we had is a way way overpriced!!!!

Spotty wifi. Shower was cold.
Amazing location right next to the bus stop for Machu Picchu. Right along the river for all the main restaurants and shopping, and 2 minutes walk to the train station. Nice balcony. Staff was super nice making sure we got breakfast and even gave us a packed breakfast for our day at Machu Picchu. Comfortable beds.

Everything was ok for the night we spent.
We got help with an entrance ticket to Machu Picchu. We were Picked up at the train station. Great location, just a couple steps from a bus stop. Easy to get a train back to Ollantaytambo. Nearby restaurants :)

The hot water was not always present and took up to 10 minutes to get warm. We had to take several very cold showers which was unpleasant. The staff tried to help but the problem recurred. The included breakfast was great but very basic (eggs, toast, fresh squeezed orange juice) but had no options without paying extra. They even charged 3 soles per table for milk for coffee. This isn’t a deal killer but just strange.
Excellent location and very comfortable. Staff was excellent. They even brought us a bagged breakfast the day we left before 5am to get in line for the bus to Machu Picchu. Really nice surprise. Thank you.
