Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWould be nice if there were a fridge for guests to keep food.
Nice quiet hostel in a good location, safe street close to the main square and market. Comfy beds with a good amount of privacy even in the shared rooms. Friendly and helpful staff, and the hostel also has a tour agency with good prices and a discount for hostel guests.

The hostel allows us to deposit our luggages while we were away for few days. The staffs and owner were very accommodative and friendly.

SwedenWe were at night affected by the traffic on the nearby street, so not soundproof. This hostal had the bare minimum, perfect for people who just want a bed, a shower, some nice tea and meet people. But if you want a more coasy hostal, with art, or a coazy place to read a book/relax other than your bed or the one couch, then other hostels are better.
Kevin and his colleagues are great, super kind and had plenty of tips for us for cusco. The dorm rooms beds were good. Priceworthy living!

Nice private bunks. Nice hot shower. Wifi good. I only stayed one night before going back to Lima. I wish I had have stayed there when I first arrived in Cusco. The price was quite reasonable.

FranceIt can get cold at night, so get some warm pyjama :) There are some rules of the hostel that you need to remember like no guests, reception closed at 22:30 etc., it's not really a disadvantage, but it's specific to this hostel
The hostel was a clean, basic accommodation. The real deal are amazing owners : Kevin and Shiomara. Kevin, apart from being super nice as a person and leading a charity supporting local population, gives i invaluable information about Cusco. The hostel.owners are also a tour operator - tours are cheap and good quality (5% of the price goes to the charity). I took breakfast - for the price it was a good set. There is tea available all the time. Bagage storage is paid 1 sol which also goes to charity. Kevin is also available during the day on WhatsApp for emergencies, which helped me several times

FranceThe walls are very thin so be prepared to hear everything that's happening in the other rooms and outside. However, after 10:30pm the place is quiet and everyone respects the quiet time.
The host was absolutely lovely and helpful. He did his best to accommodate all our needs and answered all our questions. Breakfast was nice (bread, butter, jam, fruits, avocado and tea). All showers had hot water and the rooms were nice and warm. Very nice location, close to the local market and 7min walk from plaza de Armas.

PeruThere is a little noise from the street that is not the hostels fault. This just comes with the location. For me, it didn't bother me, but perhaps a note for others. But the price you pay, you just take it as it is and appreciate what is on offer. Everything from the hostel side was perfect
Lovely warm place to stay and very clean. I planned 1 night but stayed 5. For the price you pay the value is amazing. Free tea, very hot showers (the best I've had on this trip) friendly staff, good location. I really can't see why anyone can complain about anything in this place. It's a high class budget hostel, not a hotel and barring in mind what you pay, this is a great place to stay.

United KingdomIt's a very old building so there is lots of noise, including from the street. However, this is just something to note if you're a light sleeper. It's really centrally located so there's not a lot that can be done about this.
We stayed here for 9 nights following the protests it's great value for money. The atmosphere was really nice and social. There is free tea throughout the day and breakfast included avacado which was great. Depending on which room you have, it's really spacious. When we arrived our room was ready early which was great. The owner Kevin also lets you store your bags if needed. The showers are hot and powerful and the bathrooms are ALWAYS clean. You always saw Kevin cleaning them, several times a day along with the hostel. It was also my partners birthday when we were here and everyone at the hostel helped to make it special. Thanks ☺️
