Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe staff ignored our request for a transfer from Cusco. It also said we would have a breakfast packed early in the day we need to leave before breakfast time but no one was even at the reception. We eventually found it in a corner when we were trying to find someone to open us the door.
Ideal location for visiting Machu Picchu, so close to the Ollantaytambo train station from where you can take the earliest train to Aguas Calientes. The breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious and modern.

United KingdomThere was a lovely garden area but the bar leading out to it didn't seem to be open when I was there (April), which was a shame, I'd have loved to sit out there with a beer!
You can't really get a better location. Great value. My room was large and also had a fantastic view.

United StatesPrime location overlooking the archeological site and a stones throw from the main square! The bedroom overlooking the stream was beautiful, we were there at the end of rainy season so the stream was flowing strongly which provided a continual, peaceful white noise effect as we slept. The rooms were comfortable with great hot water! You are walking distance to everything in town and our stay was very comfortable. Right across the street from Apu Veronica, which was the best restaurant in town!!

United StatesSeemed the bathroom floor had too much hair left on floor from prior stays. I think they should mop bathroom floor better.
Charming hotel with very comfortable beds, nice balcony with beautiful view of the stream, mountains and ruins. Breakfast was fantastic! Shower was hot and great water pressure after four day trekking with no showers. Loved the water pressure and temperature of water. Location is perfect!!

United StatesWe had the basic room which is open to the courtyard so there was some noise. Walls were thin, but slept great with some white noise on. Highly recommend!

United KingdomDespite a couple of reminders, staff were not up, the outside door was locked and there was no packed breakfast for our 04:30 start to catch the train to Machu Picchu. However, they profusely apologised and I wouldn't let this put you off staying. But if you are on an early start for MP and require a packed lunch I do suggest heavy reminders the night before!
Excellent breakfast. Great location. Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable and quiet room.

AustraliaNothing. Had a great stay
Needed a few days of clean green & not moving. Loved this little property & UNESCO town in mountains. Its just a short train ride to MP. Perfect stay. Right in center but quiet. Had 2nd floor Delux King. Large room overlooking gardened running river area and Historical site. Very clean property. Modernised room comfy huge bed with 2 relaxing chairs. Large shower. Front desk guys were very helpful. Upgraded Pervian Breakfast. Fruit yoghurt buns eggs cheese ham tomato Avacado juice coffee etc. Great location a min to everything. Next door one way chemist otherside a Local shop 50m to Square and wait for it. Just across tiny Bridge was the best restaurant in our 3 month trip. APU Veronica. Train is a straight 10 min walk or a 2 dollar taxi ride straight down hill outside front door. Easy to do sites in Sacred Valley from here. Just grabbed a local driver to bring us up direct from hectic Cusco. About 45US.

South AfricaBreakfast wasn’t great, cappuccino etc advertised on board but no one around at breakfast to ask. Property didn’t respond pre arrival despite several requests. Once we were there they were helpful though.
Very convenient for exploring the Sacred valley and the Ollantaytambo village. Close enough to the train station that it’s a quick walk.

PeruCertainly! "I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sol Ollantay, and it was truly an excellent experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming. The ambiance of the hotel is charming, and the attention to detail in the decor adds to the overall inviting atmosphere. The rooms are not only comfortable but also impeccably clean, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The amenities provided were top-notch, and the breathtaking views from the room were an added bonus. What sets Sol Ollantay apart is the exceptional service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is memorable. They are knowledgeable about the local area, offering valuable recommendations and ensuring you make the most of your time in Ollantaytambo. The hotel's restaurant serves delicious cuisine, and the breakfast spread is diverse and delectable. Additionally, the location is convenient, allowing easy access to key attractions. In conclusion, my stay at Sol Ollantay exceeded expectations. The combination of outstanding service, comfortable accommodations, and a delightful ambiance make it the perfect choice for anyone visiting Ollantaytambo. United StatesWe didn't realize that water is in short supply due to drought. On our first night they turned off the water about midnight. My husband was not happy with this as he had no water for a shower. After contacting Derek he was able to turn the water back on for us. Not a big deal, but the hotel should have alerted us so we could plan accordingly. Sol Ollantay Hotel and Sol Miranda Hotel are both operated out of the Sol Ollantay registration desk. Our first night's stay was in Sol Miranda Hotel. They moved us to a nicer room in Sol Ollantay for our second night. Some of our travelers preferred not to move and were fine to stay a second night in the Sol Miranda Hotel.
We chose Sacred Valley to acclimate to the altitude and needed to catch a train there for our 104km marker Inca Hike starting point. Unbeknownst to us before arriving, Ollantaytambo town is an amazing living history Inca town with many of the streets and structures still with original stones and walls. The Sol Ollantay hotel is excellently located, just 1 block away from the main square, an easy walk to shops and restaurants and an easy walk to the train station. We found an excellent laundry nearby and they recommended a restaurant (not in the main square) that was so good we went there twice. They were able to accommodate our group of 10. Derek the manager spoke very good English and I was able to correspond with him via Whatsapp to make sure our accommodations were confirmed. He also arranged transportation for us from the Cusco Airport. Breakfast buffet was included with a good variety of food options. The second morning we left for the train at 6am, so they provided us with a boxed breakfast. The hotel has a nice lounge area in the center courtyard of the hotel. We left our luggage while on our 2-Day Inca trek to Machu Picchu/Aguas Calientes and then picked our luggage up on our way back to Cusco.
