Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaToo many dead insects near curtains. I understand it's the nature around but the number of dead inserts shows the cleaning only sweep them behind the curtain. Did not provide choice other than paying for the dinner. Does it mean guest can just bring cold food before check-in if not paying extra for the dinner in the hotel? I respect "work-life balance" staff policy of the hotel, but I was only told so via message after the dinner. So before that when I asked if the dinner would start at 7, the manager counter-proposed 6 immediately. I was okay with both time slots but I did feel not respected for my choice. This was a minor thing, combining other minor things like too brief intro (like rush to off duty).
The environment and the views are awesome. I can see thousands of stars at night. Bed is comfortable. Water pressure and hot water are perfect. They provide hair dryer, binoculars, electric flashlight, etc.. Breakfast and dinner are just fine but they use fresh ingredients. The manager brought us for Inca ceremony before check-out, which was meaningful and memorable. The price is good with such experience and views.

United Kingdomnothing about the property we didn’t like, just so gutted we were so poorly.
This was incredibly beautiful and the best place we stayed in Peru. as it’s quite out of the way from Ollantaytambo main square, they offer a free ride to the accommodation there and back from Ollantaytambo (station of square) Unfortunately me and my husband were both incredibly poorly when we arrived so we couldn’t make the most out of it as we would have liked to. so were mostly just in bed. we were too poorly to eat dinner, but going by the breakfast, I can imagine it would have been amazing. The staff were so lovely to us and provided us with free herbal tea to help with our stomachs. the views are absolutely incredible, the bed was very comfortable and lovely bathroom and shower. the view from the top of the dome was beautiful, we didn’t get to star gaze but it would have been perfect for that. I just want to express our gratitude to the staff for looking after us and I’d recommend this place to everyone, I hope we can come back one day!

United StatesSuperb customer service: Great Communication before and during our stay. Staying at Stardome was one of our very best experiences during our travels throughout Peru. We learned that Machu Picchu was a former retreat for the Inca. And, the Stardome, for us, signifies as a present day retreat- accesible by us mere mortals. At Stardome, we were able to encounter peace, serenity, and an almost effortless way to connect deeper to ourselves and our surroundings. It felt as if we were enjoying something reserved for the Gods. We experienced true delight on this land. The geography and energies of the location, allowed us to meditate, recharge, and relax fully. The time here truly felt spiritual. The experience was authentic and genuine. We felt liberated here -watched over and protected by the mounatin peaks. The welcoming ceremony offered by Carlos was one that felt very loving and generous. It left us feeling embraced by humanity and connected to something larger. I have many more words to describe the experience at Stardome, but they are not enough. Words fail to describe what was felt there. This is a MUST stay during your travels. We hope to return again. Other things you might want to know: the food was superb, the room amenities over exceeded our expectations, the warm bath was delightful, the linens and bed were luxurious, and the view was breathtaking!

United StatesThis is one of the most magical places I have ever stayed. The dome is obviously beautiful, but the grounds are stunning. Waking up every morning to the view of the mountains was amazing. Detail and thought was put into every inch of my room, the decor is stunning. My favorite moment was laying in the dome just staring at the stars. On top of it all, the staff was so kind and wonderful. They constantly checked in to make sure everything was great without doing it so much that they were bothering. The food (breakfast, lunch & dinner) was the best I've had so far in Peru. Each meal was different and included veggies grown on the ground. Even the 2 cats on the grounds were friendly.

WOW!!!! What an amazing experience!!!Carlos (the owner) picked us up in town and drove us to this magical place, the Star Dome. The pick up is included in the price. It is perched high on a mountain where you will see the most beautiful view of the valley with mountains all around you. It is absolutely breath taking!!! I cannot say enough about the feeling of awe and wonder looking out at the town below next to the river. We stayed in the suite with the most amazing huge double jacuzzi. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. And again the view was out of this world. We had a private walk way to get to our room with a private deck that over looked the gorgeous views. It is an absolute feast for your eyes. Each unit is carefully designed for privacy and tranquility. Breakfast was included and very tasty. There is plenty of filtered water, coffee and an assortment of teas (including cocoa and fresh mint) available all day long for free. Dinners were the best that we had in Peru- very fresh and plentiful. The staff were so nice and treated us like family. Carlos made sure to connect with each one of us. On each guests’ arrival, I saw him personally walked each guest to show them the property and did a cocoa leaf ceremony in the look out. We were only booked for one night but stayed for two. We also came back for two more nights at the end of our trip. The luxury and beauty of this place leaves you definitely wanting to come back. If you want to feel connected to nature and have an authentic and magical experience in Peru- the Star Dome is for you. The pictures are beautiful but the experience is 1000 times better! Thank you Carlos and the amazing team at Star Dome!!! We can’t wait to go back ❤️

The location was up in the mountains with incredible views all around. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. The location is far outside the town but the hotel offers a free shuttle service to/from and has a deal with a hotel in the town to leave bags which was very convenient for us. Since the place is so remote all meals are held in the main area (extra charge) but they were all absolutely delicious and well worth it. Upon arriving we also received a tour and spiritual experience from Carlos which was enjoyable.. We decided to extend our stay and were upgraded to the biggest suite that had the hot tub (no communal spa facilities) for free which was a treat. Overall, a fantastic experience and highly recommended.

Amy and her staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the train station when the driver picked us up. Robes in our room, were a cute touch! The only downfall is that I didn’t stay there my entire trip! If you get a chance to go I promise it will be one of the best, unique experiences of your life ❤️

FranceVery poor interpersonal connection with the manager. It's OK, sometimes people do not get along. But when you are the customer, you have the right to be looked in the eyes. I feel this uncomfortable that i had to send my partner to check out. I also didn't like the seemingly open offer for what time we wanted the lift back to the town. When we replied 12, Virginia replied it's 11am or 1pm. In that case, just suggest the time instead of letting us think that it's up to us. We felt that was kind of a manipulation.

Netherlandslookiing at what you pay for the experience was not as exceptional as imagined from all the reviews. It was just a standalone room halfway up a mountain
the idea to watch the stars from a dome on the mountain is nice but actually there is too much light around to see the stars and the dome itself was not translucent enough

United StatesThe cost of dinner was not communicated prior to the dinner. Limited food choices. There were limited staff members. The dome windows fog up and the dome gets very foggy. You have to be quiet up in the dome at night while others are in their bedrooms.

GermanyWe had the most wonderful experience during our visit! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Manager Virginia went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable. The dinner and breakfast were delicious, and knowing the ingredients come from their own garden or the surrounding community made it even more special. Such a beautiful and serene place! We will definitely be returning.
