Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicIt was one of our most beautiful places in Peru. I really recommend to stay in this house on the island and not only for one night. ;) The food was great, the view from our room amd from the garden was amazing and Edwin with his family is really nice host. The island has a specific energy, what we really enjoyed. It is very calm and clean there. One day I will come back to spend a couple of days in this wonderfull place. Thank you very much!

United StatesThe person running the info service was very rude, and I almost canceled my trip all together because of them. They sent a wall of text on whatsapp over the course of multiple messages (I literally got 20) and then were impatient wth me as I had to translate every single message individually. I asked for clarification on timing because there was some weird mistranslations and they were rude and did not answer my question. I'm glad zi looked beyond them and still decided to go.
Edwin and his family are so kind and the home is Beautiful! Basic but clean and comfy and has incredible views. It is a trek to get to so come prepared and leave large luggage on the mainland

United StatesI met another couple who stayed with Filip's family where they showed them how to make the clothes. I didn't get to see this or try this activity at Edwin's house.
The room is very clean with an exceptional view (you can see the sunset from the window over the lake). The garden and house are also absolutely beautiful. Edwin picked me up from the port (make sure you contact him so the captain of the boat drop you at the right place). Edwin's parents make beautiful hats, glove, and textiles (e.g. table clothes) so you can buy some from them. The house is a bit walk (20-30 minute) from both main ports and the plaza with the dance performance. But the walk to the house is beautiful if you don't mind walking around. Food was delicious.

FinlandPrepare for some walking from the port to the apartment and leave big backpacks to the mainland. Cold nights (and shower) but they provide enough blankets to stay warm.
Our hosts were the most kind and helpful people. Unfortunately we don’t speak a lot spanish which would have helped us more. Rebecca prepared us simple but very tasty meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and took us explore the island. We were the only guests and the place was really relaxing and we had great views over lake Titicaca.

United StatesWe liked everything. Staying in Taquile is a bit of a rugged adventure so anyone looking for luxury would be in the wrong place. We loved the experience.
Edwin and his wife were very kind, caring and attentive hosts. We learned a lot about Taquile culture and traditions. We ate wonderful and hearty breakfasts, luches and dinners. The sunrise and view from our room was exceptional. We enjoyed it very much!

SlovakiaYou simply can’t go wrong booking with Edwin - the sweetest, kindest and most attentive host we’ve ever had. The island itself is beautiful - you can even swim in the waters of Titicaca. Our host Flora (Edwin’s wife) prepared us a delicious lunch upon our arrival consisting of local fish, rice and veggies and veggie soup - everything was super tasty! There is a common dining room where you have a 24/7 access to hot water to male tea and some coca and muña leaves to fight the high altitude. At the end of our stay Edwin’s brother took us back to the port. I highly recommend this trip to everyone who wants to spend some time on Titicaca.

GermanyEdwin was an amazing host. He was always so calm and easy and the smile on his face was just heartfelt. The place was magical and so interesting. Lots to discover. Unfortunately I was there for just one night. I would recommend 2 nights at least to enjoy more of it! Food was delicious, homemade, I loved the fresh fish and the amazing oats-quinoa drink at breakfast!

AustraliaEdwin and his whole family were extremely welcoming. He gave us all the info needed to get to the island and met us at the ferry point. The place is beautiful and so tranquil. The room was very good, with beautiful views of the lake. We even got to see the sunrise from our bed. The food was also very good. Loads of walks to do around the island. Perfect place to disconnect, wished we could have stayed longer.

ChinaSuch a beautiful place with great value. The dinner and lunch were absolutely delicious! I miss the quinoa soup and trucha already. Edwin received us with great attention. The island is worth staying, we catched the sunset from our room without leaving our beds! There are ruins, and we were lucky to see a local festival at the plaza. the textile on the island is also amazing.

SwedenAs we traveled in the winter, the room wasn't as warm was we expected but it is natural as the isolation is not so strong - nothing that some blankets wouldn't solve ;)
Edwin is an amazing host, since picking us up at the harbor, cooked amazing meals, and made sure we had everything we needed. We felt part of the family and we strongly recommend staying with this family. The house is placed on the top of a hill and has a patio for you to relax and enjoy the amazing views.

LuxembourgEverything great but do not expect classical hotel comfort in terms of bathroom. This is basic.
The island is a peaceful place, for sure. But staying in Edwin's house is even more fantastic. His family and himself are so welcoming. The meal they prepare are delicious. If you wake up early you can see the sunrise on the lake from your bed. Unique experience in every dimensions. The best overnight place of our two-week trip in Peru.

FranceI totally recommend the house of Edwin, the place is wonderful and so peaceful in the precious island of Taquille. Moreover, which made the experience unique and fabulous was the kindness of Edwin the host, bringing you to every part of the island, finding private taxi if you want to make a visit to the other island of Amantani. If you want a tradicional experience and a stay in a little piece of paradise, that’s the place.

United StatesI had a very unfortunate interaction with this property. I acquired a good discounted price for a stay for two. After booking the stay, I received an automated message to include that there would be additional cleaning fees associated with the stay that weren’t mentioned in the listing. I then received a direct message from the owner that the price I got for the booking was too low and that I needed to cancel the booking and incur cancellation fees and that he would be unable to host us at the price that he setup to offer in his listing. I then requested to cancel without paying the cancellation fees and he refused to accept it. This is a dishonest person who is taking advantage of tourists. If you decide to stay with this family, expect to pay hidden fees and to be treated disrespectfully. Taquile is a beautiful place and there are many honest families who will treat you well. This is not one of them.

SpainYou don't come to Taquile for comfort. The luxury is in the location and setting. The room is basic, best to choose the larger family room even if there are just two of you.
Excellent views, beautiful island, very gentle host keen to do what he could to help us. Edwin really is a lovely man and we were very fortunate to spend time on the island.
