Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsVery noisy location next to a bar, luckily we got a new room. It's really not a boutique hotel, but more of a family hotel with a whole family running it, expect more of a 'local' experience.
Location is great! Room is good value, spacious and clean. Staff was helpful

NetherlandsThe street outside was very busy, and unfortunately drivers in Peru honk a lot. It can be annoying, especially at night. There was also a loud music playing till late at a (I presume) hotel on the opposite site. If somebody is a light sleeper, I’d ask for a room which doesn’t face the street. As I was staying at the hotel for 6 nights, having a balcony outweighed the drawbacks of facing the street.
The location was perfect. A minute walk from the main plaza. Breakfast was good, eggs, ham, cheese, jam, butter, koffie, tea and fresh juice. Staff was really friendly, they were always smiling, asked every day of my room needed cleaning, or I needed anything, they were very eager to help and make my stay as good as possible. I had a double room for single stay, it was spacious and with a balcony. Bathroom was private, located on the corridor. It was clean and redone not very long time ago. It is a small hotel, so the fact that the bathroom was off the bedroom was not an issue.

NetherlandsThe preferred method of payment is cash at the hotel (either USD or Sol). Upon arrival I learned that paying by card would cost extra. Front desk staff was courteous to let me stop by an ATM to get cash to pay for the room. It's wise to bring some cash upon staying there.
Upon arrival at TATA boutique hotel early morning, I was blessed by the hotel staff with an early check-in, which was just what I needed. The lady at the front desk didn't speak much English, however with Google translate and joined efforts we made the check-in work. She also provided some excellent tips on places to visit and things to see in Cusco. Great service and she was very patient and helpful throughout my entire stay! Breakfast is simple and good. (Consisting of fruit juice, coffee, hot water, some bread and jam, some scrambled eggs. On my check-out day (when leaving for Machu Picchu to hike the short Inca trail) I got a small lunch as breakfast to go. (Consisting of a few crackers, some fruit juice, and granola bar) The room was spacious, had a small desk, and beautiful view over the mountains. During my Inca trail, I got to leave my large bag at the hotel. (Great service!)

RomaniaThere were so many steps to the room (saying this because of the luggage). Breakfast could be improved.
The room was nice and clean, as described. The receptionists helped us with our luggage. Breakfast very simple but better than nothing.

GermanyA close by hostel was doing parties or live music almost any night. Sleeping before 12 after an exhausting day was not easy.
Super close by the Plaza de armas (5 minutes walking) on the same level. Personnel was super friendly. The room was a little small but had everything we needed for a few days.

United StatesThe noise at night was loud when you have early wake up calls to go hiking. that is our only complaint and the hotel can’t do anything about that. it generally stopped by 10 or so
location was great to everything I needed, the staff was amazing even with a bit of language barrier, can’t say enough about the breakfast. The cook was concerned when I was leaving food behind. he thought I didn’t like what he cooked and asked if he could make me something else. there was so much food for me that I just couldn’t eat it all so we decided to give me less😁. so sweet, for one to be so observant and two offer something else. that blew me away about this place. place was simple but clean.

United StatesThe karaoke bars at night are obnoxious between 1900 and 0100. I guess it's okay if you don't need to sleep during these hours.
Location was good and bad at the same time. Close to the shops and restaurants. But also close to the entertainment loud for long periods at night while we're all trying to sleep. From 1900 till 0100 during the weekdays loud noises from karaoke bar just down the street.

United StatesThe bar next door played loud music the entire night until 2am. It was very difficult to sleep especially we need to adjust the attitude. We were told that breakfast starts at 6:30am, there was no food by 6:45am, and we had to leave for the tour without breakfast. Also we were surprised what we were charged 32 soles for 4 cups of Coca leaf teas.
The staff was very helpful when we needed some help on arranging tour pickup time and location

NetherlandsThe street that this hotel is in is very busy so it can be noisy.
It’s centrally located and it offers the basics. The ladies attending there are really nice and they let us leave our bags for the day. The breakfast is sufficient. Overall this hotel is a god option if you are on a budget in Cusco without wanting to stay in a hostel.

NetherlandsHappy to say not much to complain about.
In the city centre. Special mention for the people at the reception (forgot their names unfortunately). There was a problem with my payment, and they still checked me in. They said that their concern was a pleasant stay for me. Money matters can always be solved later on. Who says that nowadays, such a nice gesture. Also they gave me super nice recommendations for restaurants to try for local food. Room was of adequate size for a single traveller. I highly recommend this place.

NetherlandsThe second time at TATA boutique, there was another lady at the front desk who spoke Spanish (only?) and very quickly. It was much harder to follow than her colleague the previous time. The room I got this second time was at the back of the hotel, which was right above a bar/club. They were playing music until late in the evening, which could be easily heard in my room. There was no real view from the windows (as was indicated upon Booking.com for the room) other than the hallway of another hotel/hostel. Opening the curtains would give others direct view of my room. The room upon this second stay was much smaller than previously. It even felt a little tight.
The location of the hotel is central and easily accessible to things in the city center of Cusco. (Central square <10min walking) Even at night, I felt safe walking there by myself. For the location it was a good value for your money. A couple of times, I had early departures for tours, however breakfast was available early morning (5.30/6am), which I appreciated before starting a tour.
