Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The property and location. Space heater in the room and the fireplace awesome. The staff were outstanding, everyone treated us very nice and the food simply delicious, dinner included was a pleasant bonus so we didn’t have to travel into town. Mr Wayne and Ms Maria Gracia were very diligent in answering questions and providing directions.

United KingdomUnfortunately during heavy rain our original bedroom sprang a leak but we were soon moved to an alternative.
The owner was very helpful with suggestions of how to spend the full day we had. All the staff were lovely! Great meals included in the price and a lovely lounge with large log fire in the afternoon/evening.

Diana and Wayne have built a legacy of hospitality and fine home grown foods. The location although a little out of town is superb for either a acclimatisation hike or just to relax and revitalise .

Hong KongI need to work, so I rely on the Internet connection. Wifi was not usable for my needs. For a quick email check or a short WhatsApp call, it was fine. I think that the Wifi reception is good in the dining area, but less consistent in the room we were in.
The hosts are great. The location is great and we had a very nice time. We can to Huaraz to hike in the area and we're glad that we picked this place. From the Lazy Dog, we could go out walking to different trails. Otherwise, everything requires a car ride on very poor and bumpy roads. Besides the good location, it was a pleasure to know the hosts and meet other guests. It's a remote location so not everything works like it would in a city, but overall it was very nice.

United KingdomNot as many facilities as expected for a hotel in this price range. The food was mainly vegetarian which we weren’t aware of in advance- very very small portion of chicken when provided. However, it was absolutely delicious and home-made and not a problem for us. Cleaning in the bathroom could have been better- during one night of our booking we didn’t stay there as we ended up camping instead but the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned on our return, and there are quite a lot of insects that like to venture inside. Was probably just an oversight as the property in general was spotless.
Peaceful location with beautiful views and very comfy and warm beds. Beautiful sauna and delicious homemade food. Open fire in the lounge and bedroom was lovely.

ItalyWell, this is one of the very few occasions where the property largely exceeded our expectations. I travelled with my wife and daughter. Diana and Wayne were incredibly friendly and helpful. The staff was professionally trained and the facility really felt like home. The location is simply stunning, immersed in nature. The food was delicious, local and of great quality. On top of that I had to compete on a trail running international race and Diana and Wayne really helped me a lot ensuring everything I needed was arranged, from transportation to a lovely breakfast at 4am before the race. Highly recommended. Many thanks!

PolandMind that the lodge is 30min away from Huaraz so you need to add prices for taxis to transfer you to the city (40-50 soles one way day/evening, 80 at night) where all trekking tours start

GermanyWe had a wonderful stay at Lazy Dog Inn and really enjoyed being in the middle of nature. It’s a beautiful cottage in the mountains where you feel like home right away. It’s super cozy and warm with a fire place in the living room and a sauna in the garden. The team is very nice, welcoming and always helpful. We loved the overall sustainable concept, especially the delicious and freshly cooked meals. It’s a great place to meet other travelers and spend cozy evenings together. From the accommodation you can start day hikes to glaciers and lagunes. We definitely recommend staying there for some days!

AustraliaEverything was wonderful
We stayed for a week at The Lazy Dog Inn and it was such a fantastic way to explore a little of the Cordillera Blanca. The owners and hosts, Diana and Wayne offer a very special experience for people who love getting out in nature and exploring this very unique part of the world. About 6 km up in the mountains above Huaraz, The Lazy Dog Inn is perfectly located to retreat from the hustle and bustle of a very big town. Many hikes are nearby and for those that are a little further away, the hosts have a great service with a local taxi company so transport is available to trailheads for a fixed price, removing all the transport hassles associated with getting to hikes, or needing to do tours. Information. Diana and Wayne have lived in the area for a long time and have wonderful information booklets for guests as well as many ideas and suggestions to individualise each guest’s trip. There is no big sell for any particular walks as there is downtown. instead there is honest feedback so that you can accurately assess what you might like to do. As well as several longer hikes and walks to local famous lagoons, we enjoyed walking down to Huaraz, catching local colectivos and learning about the local farmers living in surrounding communities - who were all very friendly and greet everyone in passing. Comfort. The Lazy Dog Inn is a relaxing haven. Hot fires every night. Wonderful breakfasts, dinners and packed lunches for hikes. The food is locally grown and absolutely delicious. Perfect for hungry hikers! All the staff are so friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed meeting the women from the local community who cooked for us everyday. Other travellers were friendly and were all doing such interesting things we also learnt heaps from them :) The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the beds are big and very warm, washing facilities for those staying longer etc etc. Nothing was too much trouble. We hope to come back 😀

South KoreaThe road from Huaraz city to the hotel was rough.
It has comfortable bed and really nice view. They provide two meals(breakfast and dinner) - all meals were delicious! And I like its hot water and good service. If you don't need to use tour program starting early morning, this lodge is perfect place in Huaraz to take rest and enjoy nature!
