How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room was overwhelmingly doused with air freshener. Also make sure not to get a room on the ground floor. Was woken up all throughout the night by guests coming and going and the reception phone ringing off the hook at 3am.

The room was not completely clean. Additionally, it smelled of mold (room number 4). The reception staff were polite but no more. Soundproofing is non-existent (pipe noise, room at terrace level and therefore all terrace noises, street noise). No gesture was made towards me when I asked to change rooms.
The location is good in the Miraflores district. The breakfast was good.

Breakfast is terrible. There is mould on the window blinds. The bedroom smells of mould. The drinking water in the public area is not refilled regularly. No guest toilets near reception. No availability of kettle or tea/coffee in reception.
Location is great. Receptionist is friendly. Bed is very comfy. Good sized bedroom and bathroom (room 8). Nice decor.

our room was humid and it had the humidity smell. when you arrive you’re asked to fill out a breakfast form, and tell what time you want to have breakfast, the day after we were asked again to fill out the same form and we decided to put the hour a bit later. in the morning when we arrived for breakfast, we were told “the breakfast time finished 3 minutes ago”. we were shocked, as we wrote the time on the paper for 10:30, and we arrived at the table at 10:33. Anyway, they made us breakfast, but I wouldn’t say it was the nicest experience. also they don’t clean the room everyday, which was surprising.

Room was really old compared to the photos online, door handle was coming off the door itself which made door opening and locking difficult, the room had a damp smell to it so I had to leave the door open for air to come in when I could, there was no one there when I wanted to check out and.go, someone needs to come open the door for you whenever you want to enter
Staff was really friendly, internal courtyard was nice, close to a massive supermarket

The property is tired and needs an upgrade to improve it in line with the photos eg repainting and redecoration, fixing up repairs in the rooms (eg our sink was blocked). breakfast is nice but slow (e.g 20+ min wait after our specified time).
Convenient location and nice property (just requiring some upgrade work).

The hotel is very humid. You feel it on the clothes and towels. The a/c for warm air is not strong enough so we used a smaller ventilator for warm air. Really a pity! I know Miraflores is a very humid place, but something could be done to improve this.
It is nicely decorated and in a very good area. Staff was very friendly and helpful with organizing airport transfer and early breakfast.

- there is a construction site on the other side of the road and they had some renovation in the hotel kitchen, that's why it was very loud and dusty during the day - late check-out possible, but expansive considering the hotel was not well booked - the heating device was not working and the aircon couldn't used as heater, that's why it was very cold in the room
+ friendly and helpful staff + breakfast was good + you can explore Miraflores by foot
