Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

The location is incredible and Mama Leah, Papa Mario, Ivan and Maya couldn’t have done more to make our stay just amazing. Fabulous food, welcome and facilities. The tour was also brilliant! 🤩

United Arab EmiratesAll was fine
This was the best memory of our family trip to Peru. It allowed us to taka a break from our hectic travelling and enjoy the low pace of the uros within the warmth of a family. From the pick-up to the warm arrival by our hosts, mama Leia was ready to make us feel at home. She cooked a delicious warm soup and warm bottles to heat the beds to sleep. The room looked like a regular hotel with comfortable bed, huge windows to enjoy the view of the lake and a bathroom with shower. The food home-made by mama Leia (our host) was nice and filling and most importantly made with so much love. They family took us on a tour to learn about life at the uros and their traditions. We got plenty time to rest on the island enjoying the stunning scenery. It was time for our family to disconnect and was greatly welcomed. We would definitely go back to this place ❤️ we promised we would.

United KingdomMama Lea and Don Mario went above and beyond to give us the best stay. This was the most amazing experience! You will need lots of layers at night but the bed has lots of blankets and Mama Lea will bring you hot water bottles to keep you toasty. We had breakfast and dinner at Maya Uros and both were delicious and filling.

Czech RepublicBe ready that the final cost of the experience is higher than the accommodation only. 50 SOL is the transportation to and from Port Kajapajra, We have not agreed to have a dinner, but it was prepared already so we accepted it even though the additional cost. Including the trip around Islands, we paid around 500 SOL including the accommodation/food/trip/transportation from Puno Port Kajapajra. We arrived after 4pm, if you arrive before, you need to pay 8SOL to enter the Island area.
Papa Mario and Mama Leya are very welcoming hosts. I think this is much better experience than going to the Islands just for a trip. Room is cosy, bathroom has hot water (but very thin jet) and radio. Hosts are willing to tell you a lot about the live on the Island (in Spanish, but willing to help you understand even if you speak English only). When sleeping on the Island, be ready for a cold night, that’s a part of the experience. Island tour with our hosts was fun, they showed us some traditional ways of living on the Island.

What a glorious location with a truly lovely family. Mama Leia and Papa Mario were so friendly and welcoming. The weather in August was hot in the day but freezing (literally) at night, so come prepared. We went to bed early so as to keep warm but Mama gave us hot water bottles (large water bottles with a fleecy blanket round them), and they stayed warm all night. Getting up at sunrise and seeing the floating super market come was a real treat. This was an incredibly beautiful place and I will hold the experience in my memory for a long time. Of course they are keen to make as much from your stay as possible, so you do pay for the extra afternoon boat trip (but you don't, as with some homestays, pay for the boat pick up) and you are offered the chance to buy some of their handiwork, which is hard to refuse. but all this seemed reasonable. If you stay in Puno and go on a general boat trip I have heard that the hard sell from islanders is far greater. I felt it was very perfectly acceptable, and it was part of the privilege of staying there. They have invested a lot in their business and do all they can to give you a good time. You will also meet the incredible swimming cat who swam to their reed island across the channel!

United StatesAn absolutely beautiful and unique experience. Wonderful host MamaLeia made me feel welcome and comfortable. She helped coordinate my activities and even cooked me dinner! The beds were comfortable. It was winter and it gets cold at night. I went in July and it was in the 20°s(f). All blankets no heat, but MamaLeia did provide a hot water bottle for my feet and it made all the difference. The restroom facilities were immaculate but there was no plumbing naturally. Composting toilet. I even got cell service out there! The sounds at night... Wow. I enjoyed my stay!

CanadaThe sale of Mama Lea's goods. I felt a bit of pressure to buy something and I ended up spending a bit more than I'd have liked especially when she said she'd spent a month making the item I chose. I didn't feel like I could bargain or anything and felt bad to. Some people might like the opportunity to buy something handmade by these lovely people. I was okay with it myself but just felt a bit of pressure to do so which some may be put off by.
Mama Lea and Don Mario treated us like family from the time we booked. The lodge is on the floating islands of Uros. We were the only family staying at their lodge. They picked us up by boat from Kalapajra Port in Puno and returned us there after our stay. They took us on a boat tour of Uros for S/15 each ($4US each) and taught us so much about the Aymara culture and always had our comfort at top of mind bringing blankets for us and providing seat cushions to lean on in the boat. The furnishings of the room were also fabulous. Everything was so clean and well appointed. The room offered fabulous views of Lake Titicaca!

United StatesMany taxi drivers don't know the port where you have to meet Papa Mario to disembark - be sure to confirm before you get in your taxi.
Mama Lea and Papa Mario are welcoming you into their home that they built with their own hands. This is not some big hotel that is run by a myriad of staff members. The couple cook your food to your preference (bought fresh from the market every day) and are willing to give you a tour of the lake and share their life story with you. The house is built on an island they built themselves out of the reeds! Everything is sustainable from solar panels to composting toilets out of true necessity, not just out of a trend. The shower gets extremely hot and even plays music! The sunrise in the morning is beautiful to watch out of their dining room which has 3 large windows facing the water. They are hardworking couple who are in love with each other and dedicated to making your experience unique and heart-warming.

FranceNothing really. You sleep on an island made of reeds and this place offers as much comfort as you might expect.
Of course you won't be comfortable, that is not the point. But you will spend the night on a floating Island with two wonderful hosts. They showed us around Uros and explained their way of life. They were wonderful with our children too. I highly recommend staying here. One of the rooms has an ensuite, which is incredible luxury on Uros! I also really liked the dining room which gives you a great view over Uros as you eat. Finally, yes it's cold in winter, but there are lots of covers on the bed and you get a hot water bottle. In the end I was to hot! 🙂 Ps. Make sure you have money to pay in cash.

United StatesThe only real complaint we had was that we didn’t know how much dinner cost. We knew it wasn’t included, but there were no other options of where to eat so we didn’t have a choice. And we didn’t have enough cash. We thought it would be cheaper. So, just be more prepared than us! It was 30 soles each for dinner (which was delicious).
Mama Leah and papa Mario were awesome hosts. Very organized, sweet, and wonderful! I loved that Leah gave us hot water bottles for our feet at night 🥰
