Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI didn’t like the compost toilets but it is a floating island so that is what they have to use
The room was lovely and spacious and overlooks the lake. The family come to pick you up on their boat from the harbour. The breakfast was great, and they will take you to a nearby restaurant for lunch and dinner or will cook for you. They can also give you local tours if you would like. They are very friendly and kind. They even give you hot water bottles at night to make sure you are warm

ItalyDue to the location, services are limited - there is hardly any water and no hot water in the rooms or toilet, and the rooms get extremely cold during the night. Communication with staff was hard at times due to the language barrier (they didn’t speak English at all)
Great location on the Uros floating islands. Room with large windows and fantastic views of the lake. Staff was helpful and welcoming.

BelgiumThis is definitely one of the nicest stays we had during our trek through Peru. The views over the lake are magnificent and the family is very friendly and helpfull. Remember that there is no internet, but I can assure you, you will not miss it for a few days (and we stayed there with 3 teenage kids :-) for 3 nights). It is the perfect place to stay to relax, do nothing, get used to the altitude and just gaze at the lake (and the stars at night). Or read that book you didn't had the change to look a yet. You can eat in the restaurant on the island for diner and one of the days they also brought us to another island to eat lunch. We also did the tour to Amanti. They will get you to the ferry boot to go to Amanti and will pick you up afterwards. The first day we arrived after dark and the owner made sure there as a taxi waiting for us at our hostel in Puno to drive us to the port Qalapajra (which is out of the center) and picked us there up with the boat to get to the island. In the daytime the temperature is pleasant (even warm), but after dark it gets cold very quickly on the lake but you get a lot of blankets and a hot water bottle to keep you warm. So we were never cold at night. And we had a shower with really hot water. You can buy water on the island, but it will be more expensive than on the mainland.

United StatesThe things that were hard were not at all the family's fault so I do not reduce my rating at all. It's a place on a floating island and there are extremes in the temperature there so it was both very cold and very hot. The family provided heaters though at night and hot water bottles for the beds which helped a lot! The water bottles were wonderful. The pipes froze at night so for a bit in the morning we didn't have water, but then as the sun came out water returned. Otherwise it was super comfortable and nice.
The family - Benito, Julia and Jhony were so warm and kind. We learned so much about the culture of the Uros Islands. We went fishing with Benito and Jhony and learned about the clothes people wear and how they cook. Benito organized a local tour of the Uros Islands and a day trip to Taquile Island. We enjoyed being with the family. Being right on the lake was amazing! The views were phenomenal! The meals the family provided were great! If you want a unique experience to learn about this part of the world and this amazing culture, definitely stay at this lodge and with this family!

TurkeyThere was only one towel provided for 2 people. The composting toiley does not come with the compost so the rooms smell very bad and the toilets are only cleaned out when you leave after 4 days we were told to wait until tomorrow, this was too much to bare. The dinners were the same fried cheese every night and it was always served very cold. No free drinking water. Watch your money here because you get over charged for everything. Get prices for everything or you will pay dearly. Only greed of money lets this place down its a shame because it has the makings of a great stay. Also they should not enter to talk to you when you are in bed.
I liked the concept.

United StatesI could not get used to the toilet because you have to throw some sands into the toilet after poop poop. However, I think they have done their best to keep the lake clean and beautiful.
It was really code to live on the floating island. The host was nice to bring us 5 special bottles with hot water inside and wrapped with small blanket, respectively to make us feel warm all night long. This is absolutely a beautiful lake. You will love it.

PeruWhen we arrived the bathroom had soaps of the last guests also we found some hair inside the shower and the sink. Not too much pressure on the shower but enough to get a shower and we had hot water. We didn’t have soap and shampoo the first night. The toilet for men had a leak so the room was kind of stinky. Our room didn’t have plugs to charge our electric devices but I asked to them and offered to charge them in other room. I would like they specify additional costs like dinner that was 30 soles per person. The cost of the boat ride from the lodge to qalpajra port for 3 days was 50 soles and the additional tour around Uros that was 50 soles for 2 people. There is another cost of 8 soles to enter at the island. Also check the door of our room 😢 because my bf was locked up but they helped.
I liked the view of the room, the space was enough for two people. The food for dinner was decent. It had the main dish, soup and dessert. The beds were clean and they made the bed during the day. They gave us hot bottles of water for cold nights. People there were nice. They offered known taxis that was good ( the cost from qalapajra to the main square was 10 soles). There is a bus too that takes you to a “Mercado” and then you can take other taxis inside the city that cost between 4 and 5 soles.
