Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South KoreaIt was difficult because of altitude sickness, but I was satisfied with everything because I was able to spend comfortably and warmly at the room.
They were attentive and kind. The meal was also delicious and satisfying. The view of the lake was very nice.

United KingdomThere is nothing that I didn't like.
Everything! Cesar and Lucy are lovely people and amazing hosts. They sorted out airport pickup from Juliaca airport and transport to the island. The room exceeded expectations and was clean and beautiful. The views are spectacular. I highly recommend that you stay here.

Hong KongThe Lake can be a bit cold, especially when it rains.
Owner Caesar speaks good English. He & his wife are very friendly & made me felt welcome to their island. Caesar is enthusiastic in introducing his community & its unique culture to me. The food is excellent given the very basic condition on the islands. The room is clean , modern & comfortable (with heating & hot water). Large windows offer a great view of the lake.

United StatesWith consideration of the destination and keeping with some sustainable practices, I'm not sure that too much else could be better. We found all of our needs to be covered, and the host family was accommodating to any extra activities that we were wanting to enjoy.
The food was great. The beds were super comfortable. This island is further down from the main strip of islands, and it was so peaceful and quiet. We just enjoyed the entire experience and learned a lot about the local culture and ways of life. Our hosts arranged a trip to Isla Taquile as well, which was a great bonus. This was a great recharge on our tour of Peru, and everything was made really simple from the moment we arrived at the small port that services this part of Uros islands. Also a plus, our host had a solid grasp of English which was really helpful.

SwedenWe thought the kids would have more to do. But during the two days they got two boattrips, but they were amazing. It would be great to be shown around at the island to know where the kids could swim, if there was a kayak to borrow etc.
Fantastic location. Lucy was fantastic with the food and the trip at sunset.

SlovakiaThe bathroom is not well resolved. There is rather uncomfortable smell in the morning as the door does not close perfectly. The communication was slightly difficult - I wrote several messages on booking, but received no answer. Finally we got in touch via whatsapp but some issues remained unclear or misinterpreted. With a better communication, we could have planned the activities better. The access via the traditional port (not the central one) doesn't leave the best impression as it is dirty and smelly. A part of the activities was a tour on the touristic boat navigated by some local kids. They sang and asked us for money in the end the has left an uncomfortable feeling.
The lodge is located a bit further away from the busy touristic places and offers a peaceful escape. Beautiful sunset and sunrise. The lodge is cosy and well-equipped, given the remote location. The family is really nice and committed.

Australia- The only downside was the tour of the local community which felt a bit like a tourist trap. We had 30 minutes of ‘free time’ where a woman who lives on the island ushered us to visit her house and try on traditional clothing, then took us to visit her shop. There were 4 travellers on our tour and we all felt quite uncomfortable as she pressured us to purchase from her shop while we were wearing her clothing (you feel guilty if you don’t buy anything). When we expressed interest in a ‘handmade’ blanket, she offered an exorbitant price of s/150 (the identical blanket can be found for s/65 at any souvenir shop in Puno) and then followed us quite aggressively around her island when we said that we no longer wanted to buy it. She said that it took her 1 month to make the blanket by hand (which was very likely mass produced off the island) which we thought was dishonest. For such a pricey lodge, we were surprised that we were taken to buy overpriced souvenirs, which is a common practice for cheap day tours to the Uros.
- Very comfortable and spacious room with lovely view. Great heater at night and hot water bottles! - Attentive host who organised taxis for us and took us on a tour of his community and took us fishing on his Tortora boat. The host took us to visit the reed island of another family, where he gave a demonstration and explanation of the reed islands with models. This part was amazing, and he answered all our questions. - Meals were delicious and very filling, you will feel spoiled for sure!

United StatesOne of the most unique place we have ever stayed. Tough to beat a glass-walled room on a floating reed island in Lake Titicaca, hosted by an indigenous family that was eager to show us their heritage and traditions. What an experience!. And the food was good! We were picked up by the owner in his boat at the local warf, and spent two nights on their private island, with tours to the local sites, including neighbors, the school, church, shops. A wonderful experience.

United Kingdomthere’s not much to do if you arrive in the morning, I would suggest to organize some daytime activities beforehand (like visiting amantani) and then get to the accomodation in the afternoon before sunset to enjoy the view
the view on the lake is amazing, it’s really nice to stay in Uros and meet the community

United KingdomI think things are looking a little tired after two years of no tourism. Although basic facilities, a toilet lid would be good and some heater in the dining area .
Food was excellent, nice to see youngsters around but didn’t really see test of family .

We loved, loved our stay at Uros Samarana Uta Lodge. Cesar and Lucy were the best hosts. They took care of every little detail during our stay - right from warm, cosy beds to a great tour of the Uros islands and fantastic home-cooked food. The property is very well-maintained and beautiful, and we had a relaxed and wonderful vacation here.
