Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt is rustic so don’t expect luxury on a floating reed island.
Incredibly friendly staff, Miguel and his daughter were on hand for anything we needed, gorgeous view from the deck. They also provided a beautiful breakfast and hot water bottles at night.

United KingdomClean sheets (despite no electricity, running water and washing machines), five alpaca blankets, each almost a centimeter thick, breakfast and dinner. Even the hostess has prepared two heaters with hot water, just in case. Miguel takes me to and from the port by boat, arranges a trip to Taquile Island in the interior of the lake and even offers me a tour in his own reed boat. Strongly recommend!

SingaporeThe composting loo takes a little getting used to, but not unpleasant or nasty.
Miguel & Sabine are warm, very nurturing hosts who constantly worried about whether we were warm enough or had enough to eat. Miguel provided thick wool blankets for the short boat ride to the room, then brought us a thermos of hot water to drink hot water bottles to sleep with when it was bedtime and even lugged the giant heater over to our room. Tip: Sleep with the curtains open. The view at dawn from your bed is so worth it. There was even a mist-rainbow above the lake in front of our room, the sunlight refracting on mist. In the morning, Miguel invited us two and a Brazilian couple to ride in the boat with him to empty the nets behind their house of fish for breakfast.

Czech RepublicOur lodge was little bit tiny and for hot water we had to go to another lodge, but it wasn't something we couldn't put up with or it would have affected our great experience :)
Very immersive and wonderful experience. Uros lodges are located far from touristic rush of Puno and we had a great opportunity to see the daily life of Miguel and his family - they were all very nice, friendly and very helpful. Also, they provided us with great food, took us fishing, gave us sorojchi pills when we did not feel great because of high altitude and much much more. Highly recommend to everyone!

United KingdomWe only had 1 towel for 2 of us to share. The shower didnt get very hot, but thats kind of expected staying out in the lake. People should be a little prepared not to have all the amenities and luxuries out on the lake but its worth it for the views and experience.
Very good breakfast, really nice selection of food and all good quality. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed to boat tour with Miguel

United KingdomIt gets very very cold in the rooms at night, so I advise to take the offer of heating, which comes at an extra charge. No fresh coffee with breakfast, only instant. a small dislike but a good cup of coffee with breakfast watching those views would have been so nice.
This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beauty and the nature of this lake in the Andes. The rooms give spectacular views out over the lake and to the sunset over the mountains. The family who run the place are delightful and so eager to help and attend to any need.

GermanyBe aware that you can getbto island Taquile cheaper than the offered 120 Soles if you go by yourself to the harbor in Puno! Also they asked me if I want to use the Balsa kayak a while - when it comes to pay everything I should pay 50 Soles for a ride of 20 minutes whitout informing me about the costs before :-( At first it was not possible to pay with credit card but then like a miracle the son appeared with a card reader and nothing was a problem. Kind of strange.
They offer you lunch and dinner (but chicken and rice arrived cold 🤨)
