Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThe hosts need to offer more vegetarian food options, especially since I asked well in advance for meat-free meals. Please put some hooks to hang wet towels in the bathroom.
This is a truly special place to stay and we loved it. The room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable. The view from the windows and the terrace (day bed!) is lovely, you can spend the whole day just watching the reed boats come and go, and the sunlight on the lake. The host family transferred us from the port in their boat. They offer meals as well. There's a dry toilet, a hot shower, and hot water bottles to warm up the bed (it gets cold at night at this altitude, bring warm clothes). They have a WiFi hotspot but it worked just about as little as phone data, so don't expect much. When there's wind, the reed island rocks a little (like a very large and stable barge), but if you get very seasick this might not be a place for you.

GermanyIt was a bit difficult to find a taxi to the pick up point. But that might have been also because of my lack in Spanish.
The view from my room was amazing!! Super warm and lovely welcome and I was able to spend the next morning/afternoon also at the lodge. I can 100% recommend staying here - I had the most relaxing time and sleep. The prepared food was also very delicious.

Yes at night it does get pretty cold but there's a heater, which I didn't use and also a hot water bottle if you need which actually stays warm till morning. And there is 24/7 electricity.

United StatesBased on the pictures I thought I was getting a hot tub, a room with a shower, and a flushable toilet. I did not get those things. This is a glamping experience - great for backpackers and hostel guests. My room had one outlet. I wouldn't have minded the stay had I not had something else in mind prior to checking in, based on Booking.com images and description.
You'll stay on the Uros, on Lago Titicaca! Heat was not available, but the hosts provide hot water bottles to keep you comfortable. This is a glamping experience. It was fun to be picked up in a little motorboat from 'Tierra Firme'. The hosts are a wonderfully hospitable family.

MexicoFor the price, it seems Uros Titikaka at least, was sleeping a bit on their laurels. The Terrace and room was tidy and nice but we couldńt take a picture of the sunrise through the back window because it was a horrible garbage pit. Used tires, beer bottles, trash… The toilet, which is the same system our cat uses at home, quickly filled up and until mid morning nobody came around to scoop and tidy everything up. The bed sheets, from what we saw after our neighbors came and went were never washed; they just made the bed again! They dońt even have a washing machine (how could they, its a floating island). The sheets didnt smell bad but I was left a bit itchy all night long. We didnt expect them to charge us 60soles per person for the boat trip to and from the hotel upon check-in and check-out. Sure, other trips to the mainland where our choice and there should be a fee, but it seems like the trip to get to their hotel and back should be included. The only mediocre meal we had in all of our stay in Peru where both nights we stayed here. And we were charged as much as top restaurants in Lima.
It is certainly an experience. It is not everyday you sleep in a room built on a floating island made from Totora reeds. And you can feel the gentle sway all night long and especially in the morning when there is more boat traffic. The terrace is a beautiful place to spend the afternoon. Make sure you book one of the rooms with sliding curtains on the terrace, our neighbors where absolutely frying to a crisp and with the sun in their eyes. The short ride on the “Mercedes Benz” boats as they are called was also quite nice. All this, and I suppose the price to visit and keep this traditional way of life of the Uros community does come at a price though. Be prepared to be charged and overcharged for absolutely everything. It is to be expected but when the bill came around it still came as a shocking surprise to our wallets with extra and surprise fees. For the price, it seems Uros Titikaka at least, was sleeping a bit on their laurels. United StatesOverall a unique experience to have, but I would not stay more than a night because there’s not much to do, you get bored easily. Also, just consider what kind of traveler you are before you go. If you re a backpacker that can handle rougher adventures then go for it. But if you like staying on hotels and airbnbs, you might not enjoy this much. Also as of March 2024, you must pay 15 soles per way for a cab from downtown puno to the port, and another 15 soles per person per way for a boat ride from the port to the lodge. Breakfast is included, lunch and dinner are 15 soles per person per meal.
This was probably the best lodge on the lake. That being said, since these houses are built on manmade islands, its hard to have many luxuries. The family living here is very nice and did their best to accommodate us. They brought hot water regularly for tea and coffee, they brought us dinner and lunch on time with big portions, they had a clean compost toilet and shower, and did not pressure us to buy anything. Also, people who say it gets cold at night on the reviews are right, theres a big temperature drop from day to night. But we had a huge heater in our room so we were not cold at all.

United States1. There is an undisclosed amount of S/8 to even get onto the lake which although a small amount, shouldn't have to pay to get on a lake that you are already paying to stay on. 2. It gets VERY VERY VERY cold around 5pm when the sun goes down and its really to the point that its uncomfortable. They DO provide warm water bottles for bed but outside of the bed it is VERY cold. The bottles are given at night and really should be handed out much earlier or asked when you would like them. 3. The WI-FI Only worked the first day and was cut off at 8:30pm without any explanation and NEVER came back on and I was there for 3 days 4. The food IS very good however the choices are very limited, ONLY CHICKEN OR FISH for dinner and since I only eat chicken, no other options 5. There IS a electricity problem that they DONT address and deny. I was supposed to stay for 4 days 3 nights and left a day early due to the electricity issue. I was NOT able to charge my phone on Day 2 and left Day 3 because of this and they didnt seem to think it was a big deal that I wanted constant electricity to charge my devices. 6. The shower pressure IS laughable, literally just a trinkle that comes out and the other heads just spray WIDLY all over the floor. 7. There are NO options offered for snack foods but there IS/ARE multiple places on the lake that snacks can be bought but they didn't tell me that and instead allowed me to have to pay the money for them to take me to the dock and pay a taxi driver S/40 just to drive me past 5 stores to grab chips and candy. 8. There are NO LOCKS on the door for when you leave, ONLY a lock when you are inside which is unsettling as you cannot protect your valuables when you leave. 9. There is a clear language barrier and they do NOT speak any English contrary to the booking site saying they do. 10. There were several flies in the room, I killed at least 10, 15 while there including a dragonfly.
I liked the location seeing as its right on one of the floating islands. I also liked the decorations in the room as it was decorated very well and really showcased the culture in the area.

United StatesOur family is pretty adventurous and we grow up in Siberia but it was too much for us. It was freezing during the night and we could see our breath. For heating they used an outdoor heater which is dangerous to use in the room that ran out of propane after an hour . In the morning we didn’t have running water because the water froze we even couldn’t wash our hands. We had icicles in the sink and no hot water at all during our stay. There was also no shower which they promised to have .Most of the time we didn’t have wifi and when we did, the connection was very weak. So we cancelled our next day. And be careful with the prices they offer you for the Titicaca trip they can be overpriced and you don’t have any chance to check it online. We booked a trip for 8:00 a.m. wake up at 6:30 to have a breakfast and got to the boat at 9:30 instead 8:00. Hopefully they can improve their service because their family was nice.
Pictures of the place were beautiful but did not show you the real thing.
