Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe room was beautiful, but just lacked a bit of attention to detail. The toilet seat was too small for the toilet and there were no pillow cases on the pillows (we asked and got them the next day). Also said there was a bar and restaurant, but we didn’t see any evidence of this.
Great location in a quiet lane right next to San Domenic cathedral. Huge room with gorgeous artwork and whitewashed walls. Bathroom looked new and had a big bath (didn’t try this out) and great shower. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very eager to help if we had any issues.

CanadaThe buffet style breakfast is decent (nothing warm/cooked offered) but not readily replenished. Oddly they only gave us 2 towels for 4 people, but we could have just asked for more :)
This hotel is in a great location, especially if you're taking the train with IncaRail. It's not exactly in the heart/main square of Cusco, but it's only a short walk (5-10mins). The staff are very helpful and kind- they went above and beyond, helping us be comfortable in many ways. The rooms are unique and the views from our room were beautiful.

United StatesNot enough tables in the breakfast area for all the guests.
Very pleasant surprise. We had mixed feelings first based on the reviews but it was better than we expected. At least our room which was a duplex on the top floor. I can see how the place can be noisy sometimes because of the old building but top floor duplex was perfect and quiet. Depends which room you book I guess. Main advantage is location right in the middle of historic downtown, next to Coricancha church. Our stay was perfect and we have no complains.

CanadaMy only observation is about the bathroom, the layout needs some re-engineering, the door is too close to the tub, so there is no much space for changing clothes.

United StatesThe bathroom arrangements were "interesting!" There was a shower with a sink in one area and then toilet and a sink in another area of the bedroom. The entrance to the shower/sink combo had no outside door (though the shower itself did) and it faced the lobby. This typically would not be an issue, if it were not for the fact that the wall dividing the room and lobby was glass that was partially frosted. You had to come out of the shower wearing your towel or else you could potentially exhibit yourself to the people in the lobby area--overall bad design! The issue with the toilet/sink combo is that you had to step up onto the toilet and there was no where to place the toilet paper but on the sink (which could potentially get wet). There was also no place to hang towels to dry.
I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel despite the bathroom situation. The room we had has been one of the biggest we have ever been in and housed 3 king beds. Absolutely grand and comfortable for us. The location was perfect since it was centrally located and we could walk to many historical sites, the Sun Temple was in front of us, easy access to restaurants, plazas, ATMs, boticas (pharmacies), really anything you needed was close by.

United StatesHas the potential as a 4-5 star accommodation because of its amazing location and decor. Easy to fix details like like no soap/shampoo bathroom, no telephone to call to front desk, not clean smelling lobby bathroom(with no soap!), very cold rooms but got a heater (barely adequate). Have to ask for soap, shampoo and towels (all pretty mediocre quality).
Amazing location- you could touch the incan temple of the sun from across the ancient incan alley from the hotel. The beautiful artwork and decorations in an ancient building impressive. the shower was wonderfully, warm and modern. Breakfast was reasonably good.

Czech RepublicThe drain of the bath smelled badly. Sheets looked clean but had spots.
Finally a hotel in Cuzco without noisy street sounds and sounds of early wakening neighbours! The two floor apartments was just perfect. Yeah, they could do better in cleaning the sheets and also the bathtub drain smelled badly, but one can forgive this when enjoying the calm enviroment of this place. Stuff super helpful.
