Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilThe only downside to this hostel is the location, if you have altitude problems or breathing problems it may be a bit annoying going up and down the stairs each time you go to the city centre or out to see the nightlife. This didn't personally effect my stay
I loved the vibe, bar and nightlife scene of this hostel. The staff were very interactive and I definitely got my moneys worth from the bar, shout out to Angus and Ana

FranceOne accessible kitchen would be the best (but they sell food) so we understand why. You need to go up a hill with many stairs everyday to access at hostel from the town but that’s good exercice to prepare your hiking.
Very nice place and atmosphere the staff is great and helpful. If you like to party and meet people this is the place. 15min from plaza de armas. Nice view. Good food

IrelandThe daily activities didn’t always happen. We were very disappointed when we planned our night around one and the bar staff kept saying it would start in 10mins but it never happened. We wished we had gone into town.
Very comfortable beds, clean with blackout curtains. Reception staff were great and very accommodating. Overall great value for our stay!

AustriaThe WIFI didn’t reach all dorms.
Great outside area, the pub is in a different building than the dorms, so if you want to sleep you won’t be disturbed, the pub is really nice with good food and a great view over Cusco, staff was very helpful, they store your bags while you’re on a trail, there is an agency in the hostel where you can book tours, remote working area, free coffee and tee all day

United StatesThe location, its up a hill from the Plaza Mayor. Giving the altitude of Cuzco it can be a tiresome walking.
The daily activities and the staff were my favorite part.

United Kingdom- the bar had a slightly weird vibe, bit school disco-y - only one toilet worked in our dorm of 12 - there was a slightly annoying member of staff who was shouting at people to come to the bar/banging so loud on the dorm doors which kind of came across as more intimidating than encouraging - no kitchen - veryyyyy steep steps
- it was fun, nice vibe - view from the bar is amazing - comfy bed & privacy curtain - hot showers - clean

United KingdomThe only thing I can think of is that it’s in an uphill, and the first few days it was hard to get to the hostel because of how easily you get out of breath at this altitude, even if you’re fit! But at the third day, it was manageable
This is a hostel you either give it a 2 or a 10, depending on what you’re looking for! This is a party hostel, since it has an Irish pub within the hostel, so there’s a lot of noise on the weekend until 12/1 am! But we enjoyed that, we met a lot of people, partied and had a lot of fun!! Also a shout out to the staff, always available and always helping out! Loved also having so many options of food in the pub, the free cocktail, and always activities in the evening happening! You won’t get bored

IrelandShower was never hot, constant drilling and maintenance work from around 11am to 6pm. Our room was literally shaking at times as if we were the ones using the power tools. Also misleading information all over the hostel, eg signs saying laundry will be back by 9pm when in fact it is 11pm, signs saying breakfast starts at 8am when in fact it is 9am. Small thing I know but why advertise something that isn't true.
Most of the staff were great and accomodating. Special mention to the night porter, not sure of his name but he was a great help when we badly needed it.

Netherlands- The hostel is huge and facilitates a lot of people, but most of the time only one receptionist is available and you have to wait to be helped (if you only want a bottle of water sometimes you still have to wait 15 minutes). - some rooms have beds with curtains, some not. - it’s not super fat from the city centre, but you do have to walk up some steps. - WiFi not so amazing.
- it’s a super social hostel. Great activities organised. - The hostel has a nice restaurant/bar (although a bit expensive), there is also a garden with seats and sun beds. - I saw the cleaning lady clean the facilities everyday. - they take security really serious, so you have to show your wrist bands to get in. - Also storing your backpack is free of costs.

United KingdomI booked a private room so that I have less disturbance compared to a dorm. My room faced the pub and it was on first floor which meant at night I felt like the party was going on in my room, which isn't great esp when cusco trips have 3 am starts. Suggestion would be to move the private rooms on top floors. Also the curtains are really light which meant bright light in the morning. I moved to a dorm on my last night and had a better quieter sleep there than the private.
Great vibes, very social and lovely staff. There is a pub at the hostel and they have fun daily activities. Great way to meet people. Hostel is very clean and spacious. I would come back!

United Kingdominitially travel representative told us that he could book the 4 day inka trail to Machu Picchu with at least a day’s notice. When we came to book it a couple of days later it was a different representative and he said that they don’t provide this service. So I had to organise it at short notice through a separate agent which was $140 more. Also the effort required to walk back to the hostel from the main square could be considered good training for the inka trail trek if you look at it in a positive light
The Irish pub onsite was excellent and was lively on the Saturday night. The hostel staff were helpful with everything we needed and room cleaned every day.
