Dock is needing repair and 1 toilet seat was loose

Size of rooms, view if beach, location to restaurants, grocery and Albert for tours. Jay and staff very helpful!!!!!! Awesome to meet Jay and talk to him. Water at end of dock, Marine life and acces with SUP and kayak were great. Beach manicured every day.

Beautiful location .. beach was lovely and snorkeling was great! We enjoyed the town was walking distance! No need for car. Jay was so helpful and got us a reservation which was our favorite meal in our 2 week vacation. We will be back .. thank you for a wonderful stay.

This is a fantastic place to stay on Moorea. It is very comfortable for two couples. It has separated bedrooms with a bath on each end. The shared living space was excellent. Right on the beach with a lovely deck. Good views and swimming. A real bonus was meeting the family that owns it. We had great visits with Jay, one of the original Bali Hai Boys. It was so fun to get some island history from him and his family. Close to shops and hotels and dining.

This is a fabulous home stay, right on the beach. Tahitian style but with all the comforts of home. Highly recommended. Chatting with owner jay is the highlight!

The location is right on the beach and close to shopping. It was ideal. The host, Jay Carlisle, lives on the property and is the last surviving Bali Hai Boy. He is 89 and is a delightful story teller of what it was like on Moorea in the fifties. You will find out more about the Bali Hai Boys on YouTube with videos that are so old they are in Black and White rather than in Color.

there were a lot of mosquitoes. we brought wipes and repellent and needed to buy more. Once we kept the doors closed it got a little better. The master bathroom was a bit rustic, but we didn’t mind it.

love the house for our family of 4. morning coffee on the dock with the amazing fish and neighbors dog was a huge hit. nice options for lunch/dinner close by. we all loved the privacy and down time together. Fantastic options for snorkeling and hiking near by.

AC only in bedrooms, living room cools some off with both bedrooms AC on. The house is beautiful but has not been updated in long time though beds were comfortable.

Location is great, house is beautiful and really on the beach. You can snorkel, bathe, kayak and canoe all just at your back door. Owner is an elderly American expat that knows a lot of regional history and has his own personal interesting life history. Bianca greeted us and was a pleasure. Great and easy parking in carport. We did not use the kitchen for cooking but it seemed to be well equipped and had a great updated fridge. I recommend

The only negative which is no fault of the house was the mosquitos. I would definitely go on the defense right away they ate us alive. The house was equipped with bug spray and zappers so that was much appreciated.

Amazing location! The private beach was so beautiful! The dock was the perfect place to hang out and see all the sea life in the water. I would definitely stay here again. Bianca made the experience so simple; she was a delight!

After traveling around the entire island, I know we picked one of the best locations for us. The house was so nice, comfortable, and you couldn't get much closer to the ocean. Kitchen was well equipped. Enjoyed the clear kayak and playing around in it. We had brought our masks, but they have a container of masks and fins you can use. AND the best bonus was talking to Jay and all the suggestions he was able to give us and stories he shared about the island.

I wish we would have stayed longer at Chez Jay.

Chez Jay was absolutely perfect for our family! The house had everything you would want and more. Walking distance to food/grocery/shops, activity center, dive shop and ATM. We loved snorkeling from the beach, kayaking and paddle boarding. You could not ask for better hosts with Jay and Bianca. Jay, thank you for sharing your stories and your beautiful home and island. We will return for sure. It's that special.

House was easy to find and Bianca met us right as we pulled up to the house! The house was beautiful and right on our own beach! The snorkeling was great right off our own pier! House was easy walking distance to market, bank, bakery, and restaurants. Thanks for sharing a little slice of your paradise!!

The mosquito infestation of the area was much more serious than we expected. Although we got a warning about mosquitoes, if the hostess had offered specific instructions on how to minimize our chance of getting bit, it would have gone a long way to avoiding the 60+ mosquito bites on one of the guests

The host was nearby (behind the house) and the property was well equipped
