Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI loved my sweet bungalow with a wonderful porch and view of the ocean. Especially loved the owner’s kitty who adopted me for my stay. Fare Tokoau is near all of my favorite restaurants, and has the most beautiful sunsets on the island of Moorea. The owners were lovely and very helpful whenever I needed anything. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to Moorea.

United KingdomThe fact that we had to leave was the worst! Guests should be aware that this is true tropical island life and there will be occasional creatures passing through!
Tea and Alex are exceptional hosts. The bungalows are very cosy, with everything you need to wash, sleep and cook light meals. The facilities on site are exceptional and give an authentic window to true island lifestyle. The pool is great to cool off in after a long morning out exploring and the sea is accessible too! There are kayaks that you can use to take a trip further out for even more snorkelling or visiting the motu's! The onsite team of cats and dogs are very fun and welcoming, they ensure everyone is happy and enjoying themselves! Alex's lagoon tour is a must, even if you are not lucky enough to stay at Fare Tokoau get booked on his tour! Tea made sure we had everything we needed and was more than happy to assist if we needed more information for anything on the island!

We loved Fare Tokoau. If you’re looking at going to Moorea - go! It is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Stay in a Fare instead of a big resort. This place was absolutely perfect for us. Tea and Alex have made this place comfortable and homely but also with so many unexpected extras. We loved the proper filter coffee machine, the pool and the sunset views! We also went on the tour with Alex around the lagoon on his boat. It was brilliant. It was us and one other person so basically a private tour. We’re keen amateur divers and have definitely had dives where we’ve seen less. We saw so many rays and turtles but also the beautiful scenery of Moorea from the boat. You could definitely do this tour whether you’ve never snorkelled before or a keen diver. We miss the bungalow we stayed in already. Highly recommended!

United StatesThis property is amazing! We loved our little bungalow and the fact it’s right on the water with kayaks to use for free is awesome. There are animals on the property (dogs and cats), but we made best friends with Coconut, one of the cats. She even tried to leave with us haha! We took the kayaks out and did some self guided snorkeling…some of the best snorkeling I’ve ever done…saw turtles, sharks, and a family of eagle rays! Be sure to hit Coco Beach for lunch afterwards too! Seriously such a cool little spot. When we return to Moorea this is for sure where I will stay. Can’t wait to visit again! Thanks again Tea and tell coconut hi from us 😊

Everything! 1. Beach front with great snorkeling, free kayaks and nearby island to kayak to. 2. Our hosts Tea and Alex were very welcoming and always available. 3. The small kitchen was perfect for coffee and eggs in the morning. 4. Freshwater pool was awesome too. 5. Everyday we had our morning coffee by the shore and watched the sunset. 6. Lots of food options just down the street and ice cream walking distance away.

ItalyThey have animals in the property, all of them super polite and nice, except for the cock, making noise all the nights, from 4 am to 6 pm. They’re common in the island, but this one in the property was the only uncomfortable thing for a couple that also needs resting during the night
Tea and the family extremely friendly and attentive
