Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only thing i would change would be the boat trip charge. While taking the boat is the only way to access the hotel, making guests pay an additional (and expensive) fee for that travel is not fair. It should be complimentary.
Great hospitality and huge care from the staff. Modern, elegant rooms. Great food - almost everything we tasted was delicious! The nature is also amazing!

Chilesmall thinks doesn’t work, appliances in the motu, reservation restaurants (would be by app and not by a concierge), I miss all the polinesian traditions, shows…too poor on this point, restaurants are not well (it’s difficult and hard made a comment considering the location)…I.e. “Chinese restaurant” rice with meet it’s too simple (for the price I mean), “Japan restaurant” a simple sushi …I doesn’t work for me….(same por the price), breakfast without a complete buffet (same, considering the price)….
The place it’s a paradise….all wonderful.

CroatiaThe resort is so gorgeous, very lush and well maintained. Food was great across all restaurants on site. Staff are all wonderful, we felt welcome from the second they met us at the airport till the second they dropped us back there. Unlike some other five star resorts, here everyone greets you with a smile and it always felt so genuine. Employees radiated happiness at all times which created such a warm feeling being there. Special thanks to Adrijan Rajkovic who went above and beyond to make our stay special and memorable! Everything went so smooth and we feel so happy, recharged and already thinking of a possibility to come back! It’s was truly a 5 star stay with SO much personalization (I mean we had all the help in our native language which is pretty fascinating to receive anywhere, let alone an island in the middle of nowhere in the Pacific). For anyone not sure which resort to choose on Bora Bora, choose Conrad - you’ll be amazed how far five star can go!

United StatesThe food and drinks are pretty expensive. The food and drinks taste great, but make sure you budget for that cost. What do you expect though? You are on an island in paradise and the service is absolutely unmatched, so it's worth every penny.
Paradise! This place is a heaven on earth. From the minute you arrive you are treated so well. Every single person is so nice and the property is absolutely incredible! I had a smile on my face even in my sleep!

United KingdomStaff/Service: for the level of the hotel, service was a bit hit and miss. Some staff were great, but numerous times we had to ask for things multiple times. We had to chase housekeeping a few times where the room hadn't been made-up by 3pm.
Our villa was fantastic. I think probably the best overwater villa I've stayed in. Large, lots of thoughtful touches. The setting is incredibly beautiful. Quality of food at the restaurants is excellent; breakfast selection is very good and pastries especially are top notch

United KingdomToo beautiful, too perfect, too amazing!.... Just kidding. Nothing was unlikeable. The whole experience was incredible from start to end.
Everything! Truly an incredible, once in a lifetime experience! Akane was so attentive to our needs as were all of the staff. It was so nice to be able to take a golf cart to our events in the main part of the resort. The bungalow was out of this world. We loved all the incense and decided to take home a whole big bottle of the Coqui Coqui. The view was incredible, the fish were colorful and the experience was nothing short of inspiring. I can't recommend this place enough. My wife and I look back with tears of happy, happy joy.

Not well maintained villas (mosquito nets half broken or missing in one of the windows/ bathroom; in villa sound system was partially working, cushions on sun beds were damaged and filling came out) Very soft beds
Incredible view from the Otomanu View Overwater Bungalow and very nice tropical garden surrounding the Hill top Villa with stunning view.

Switzerland- the food was good, but not wow, at least not aligned with the hotel high standards. - part of the staff refuses to speak any other language then English. Quite strange given the fact that you’re in French Polynesia and some of them were native French speakers. Maybe this is hotel’s policy - this intrigued me as I could not understand why :-))). As long as you’re ok with that, they are very kind, friendly people that are always willing to help.
It is literally the paradise. There is basically nothing to complain about the cleaning. The location of how the property is designed. stunning. The staff is great.

CanadaService in restaurants was very disorganized. Food is also mediocre. Price of the food is ridiculously high. Charging 150 USD round trip per person to and from the airport which is a 10 minute boat ride is outrageous. Charging 50 USD round trip per person after 6 pm for the shuttle to the town (which is a 5 minute boat ride) after it’s free during the day is also outrageous. And the last shuttle back to the hotel at 9 pm doesn’t allow one to have a relaxing dinner in town.
Everything except what is written below. a special compliment to Anais who is outstanding!

United StatesIt would have been nice to have been made aware that we needed to make dinner reservations / or for the resort to have food service available. Same for our afternoon after snorkeling and before departure - drinks but no snacks after 3.
We were met at the airport and were given very nice suggestions on how to see some of Bora Bora before we were shuttled to the resort (the cost of boat transfers is pricy). They took our luggage for us. Once we arrived at the island, we were extended nice service in light of a snorkeling adventure end time and the time appropriate for check out for our late flight - this was arranged by Devan. We didn't have any dinner choices as the restaurant requires reservations and none were available - we declined room service. Sunday breakfast was phenomenal with all the added touches due to it being Halloween - the various baked goods were decorated for the holiday.
