If you're booking a single room, ask for the one with a door and a fan. (The other has only a curtain and I did not see a fan there.) I could not figure out how to get hot water in the shower (there seems to be a hot water on demand type heater) but I did not really need it. On the whole nothing major to complain about.

As hostels go, this one is small but quite lovely. Twenty minutes easy walk from and to the airport, even at 5:00 a.m. The individual rooms are very convenient, with a lovely, breezy balcony adjoining the bedrooms and sitting area. The kitchen is convenient; even has a cold water dispenser in the fridge door.

Wouldn't recommend going to Tahiti in Feb, just went then cause I got a good deal on Paul Gauguin ship, was somewhat disappointed in old ship, prefer Windstar or Oceania probably. Islands beautiful. Hostel in neighborhood so people, chickens up at 4-5am and dogs barking all night if want to as loose. Big nice dog on site, doesn't come in house.Smokers sit on patio outside kitchen door, best to close it if they are there.

Everything was good except I booked a low std single room which wound up on the second floor. I had 3 suitcases, one quite heavy and I am elderly and partially disabled. I couldn't climb the stairs with all the luggage so I took a dorm bed on the ground floor.. It had a noisy overhead fan and large unscreened windows to catch the breeze in very humid, sweaty February. The single room had a stand fan. Once I borrowed one of those it was much more comfortable. I did not get a rate adjustment for downgrading. The ground floor double room near me rents for at least double what I paid and was booked. The owner was very accommodating providing rides to airport and ferry in town for 1500 ($15), the minimum price for taxis on the island,place is real close to airport and not much further to town. It was a great value. I spent a day or two at the Intercontinental chillin'. It was on the main bus route and near food and market, Bus $2. All had access to a kitchen with frig and tea making.

For me it’s not an issue as I can sleep anywhere, but some people might be annoyed by the dog barking in the morning and the bass music playing at 8:30am.

Proximity to the airport, friendly hosts who asked if I needed anything, single enclosed room, WiFi worked well, free coffee and bananas. I would stay again on another layover.

Loved the staff and loved the convenience of location. Rooms were basic but clean..Facilities were as described. Loved the wifi. Would have been 10/10 if id had a plug to charge my phone

If you want to explore the city center also in the evening/night, you will be quite far away and with no buses and very few taxis.

Small hiccup with check in. Host picked me up, but there was a slight language barrier. Also, address is even closer to airport than booking.com said, which was good, but potentially confusing for others making their way without the host

Friendly host, good value. Fresh fruit. Got what I was paying for- a decent place close to the airport at a great price. Two bathrooms for shared room situation is nice

Dirty and unsanitary conditions, noise level was unbearable with dogs barking and roosters crowing all night. Being bitten by bugs and a filthy mattress you couldn't even think of laying on. No offer of even a glass of water.

Actually my "room" was just a bed behind a curtain on the way to a room. Foto on booking.com is another room. Shared bathroom. Very noisy, because guests from the real rooms passing by in front of my bed in the night.

The host didn’t come pick me up at the airport as planned. It was 3am but they had agreed to be there. I ended up having to get a taxi there but couldn’t get in when I arrived. I called several times and nobody answered. I had to go to the Hilton and spend the night as I had no other options. The hosts unreliability cost me $450 USD.
