Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe breakfast buffet was very ordinary, as was the "tapas" offered. After experiencing them we decided not to eat at the main restaurant for dinner.
the hotel generally is very good

Great location, walking distance to small village with restaurants and shops. Small size resort and Tahitian feel. Food was good, particularly fish dishes and warm pain de chocolates at breakfast.

United StatesOur bungalow faced the pool, which meant it wasn't as private. But on the upside, that meant we also faced the mountains, which were pretty. Food at the resort was expensive and not great, we left the resort and had most meals outside.
Gorgeous property on Moorea. We loved having our little "fish TV" glass bottom floor to watch the fish. All in all, super relaxing stay in a gorgeous place. Pool was great as well! Location of this resort means it's easy to walk around to different food trucks and restaurants so you're not trapped with resort food if you don't want to be. We didn't rent a car but there was a big parking lot for rentals. Hotel easily called taxis for us when needed.

United StatesI’ve stayed in otw and beach bungalows in various top ranked resorts and Manava Beach Resort & Spa Mo’orea ranks in the highest levels. The location is beautiful, the staff are white glove, super kind, courteous and lovely. Attention is paid to every detail and desire. I had my own beach access from my villa. I am definitely going back to MBR&S.

United StatesWait staff in the restaurant seemed unhappy, they seemed like they didn't want to serve us. Service was "adequate"
We loved both the over water cabin and the garden cabin (we were in both) were amazing! We could snorkel from the overwater cabin right off our deck. Porters were great, placed our luggage in our room upon arrival and took it to the lobby when we were leaving.

United StatesSome dishes not clean. Could use a sprucing up.
The welcome was amazing, the owners made it very easy - they picked us up at the airport for a reasonable price and drove to their site. We were able to leave our bags there and explore the town until check-in The rooms were “correct” and for the most part clean (dishes had some food residue) but tired. There also was a small pool and an individual patio which we used quite a bit. Overall this place was suitable for our needs. Again, when it was time to leave the owners were very accommodating and helped us with out logistics.

United StatesThere were quite a few bird droppings in front of our bungalow door. I called the front desk to ask if the droppings could be cleaned since they could be tracked into the room up but was told that “it is the season of the birds” and it can’t be done. I did see the pool attendant cleaning the droppings off of the umbrellas around the restaurant. It was so bad that I took it upon myself to clean the area in front of our bungalow since it was nearly completely covered.
Our family of three stayed at the Manava Beach Resort & Spa - Moorea for three nights. We had a fabulous time during our stay! When we arrived for our 2:00pm check-in, we were greeted warmly and were given a tour of the property. As our bags were being brought to the bungalow, we were offered a welcome drink in the bar. Our “Premium Over Water Bungalow - Lagoon View” was amazing! We had unobstructed panoramic views of the aqua colored water off of our back deck and were able to jump into the water to snorkel. The room was very nicely appointed, comfortable and spacious with a large bathroom. It was nice to have a small fridge in the room and a coffee/tea area was available as well as daily housekeeping. It was so much fun to look down through the glass coffee table to the reef below to see all the brightly colored fish swim by. The gorgeous infinity pool on the property is very large and and affords wonderful views of the bungalows and the ocean. Resort amenities include equipment for paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling and ping pong. On site is also dive shop where you can learn to dive or go out on a dive boat for the more seasoned diver. Located around the pool is a wonderful, casual bar area as well as a more upscale restaurant. Happy Hour is 5 - 7 each day in the bar area. There is also a Polynesian show each Saturday night. There was never a problem getting a lounge chair by the pool. The snorkeling at the resort around the coral reef was fantastic! We saw a shark, a small octopus, a spiny star fish, sea urchins, turtles, parrot fish and so much more. Check-out is at 11:00am but our flight was in the evening. We were able to stay at the resort and use all of the amenities until it was time to depart by taxi to the ferry. We booked the shower room to use which is a nice benefit. This is true if you check-in early as well. We took an excellent 6-hour Snorkel & Lunch excursion with Moorea Miti Tours.

United StatesThe smaller bed in the beach bungalow was very uncomfortable. Mattress needs to be replaced. It would be helpful to have more hooks and places to hang wet towels and swimsuits etc. Also a chest of drawers that operated easier would be helpful for storing stuff. The one provided looked nice but the drawers were so hard to pull out.
The location on the island is great. Very close ( walkable ) to the grocery store and a few other restaurants. Buy some of the local juices and alcohol juice mixes and local beer for your in room frig to enjoy on you own deck. We ended up eating the majority of our meals at the resort. Breakfast was included for our stay and was good. We enjoyed the made to order omelets each morning and all the fresh fruit and pastries. Previous reviews complained about the staff and food in the dining room , but we disagree completely! Everyone was wonderful and the food was delicious. We had a wide variety of items from the menu and thought everything was prepared well and tasted great. I can’t think of one encounter with the resort staff that was not really good. Thank you Manava staff! Wednesday evening was the Polynesian dancers performance. We enjoyed that. Our beach front bungalow was lovely and we very much enjoyed sitting on our front porch and enjoying the view out to the over the water bungalows and outer ocean. We were located on the right side of the resort as you look to the water. Good location as it is a bit quieter on that side. The pool area and pool are lovely. The snorkeling out along the Oceanside of the OWB units is very nice. Especially over by the public dock side. We saw a large variety of beautiful fish along the coral and even a turtle. We also used the complementary kayaks to paddle out to the gorgeous turquoise water out in the lagoon. We had a couple very windy , cloudy days during our stay that were unfortunate but then the sun came out and wow! It’s so gorgeous. One day we rented a car from Alberts right across the street from the resort. Very easy and reasonable. It was fun to explore the island on our own. No worries about getting lost! The road just circles the island. Pretty stops along the way. The Rotui juice factory with free samples is a fun stop.

United StatesThe sliding door in our room had a little gap between the doors and when the wind whistled through it at night, it was actually pretty loud. It was fine for a night but we probably would have asked for help with it if we were staying longer; I'm sure the staff would have been happy to accommodate because they were so lovely every time we interacted with them. :)
I honestly don't have a single complaint about this place. We stayed in one of the overwater bungalows with a view of the mountains and it was fantastic! They were able to store our luggage on check in and check out, we got welcome juice when we arrived, the resort offers free activities like kayaking and paddleboarding, the cocktails are delicious and strong, the poisson cru was good, and our bungalow was right over a great snorkeling area (see attached picture for some of the fish we saw; the other two pictures are the view from our deck during the day and at sunset). I REALLY recommend getting a bungalow facing the mountains of Mo'orea, they're really SO beautiful. Didn't get any pictures of the room but it was exactly as pictured online, perfect. :)

The staff was amazing! The front desk staff, food staff and pool/beach staff were all so welcoming and helpful. And the little extra welcoming touches throughout the week were a pleasant surprise. The grounds were gorgeous and the pool and beachfront were awesome. Complimentary kayak, SUP and snorkel gear was the bonus cherry on top! The rooms were beautiful (our group had 4 beach front bungalows and 2 garden rooms and all of them were great). The breakfast buffet was great and the lunch food by the pool had a nice variety. The pearl shop in house as great! Tahitian Dance Show on site. Walking distance to shops and restaurants in town. Albert's across the street is super convenient if you want to rent a car or book an excursion.

We loved the over water bungalow. The glass in the floor made for great "fish TV". Snorkeling off the public dock area was amazing. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Proximity to the grocery store was very useful. The grounds and pool area were very well maintained and beautiful. Dinah, the concierge, was very helpful in organizing a tour and our transport to the ferry. We were able to have an early check in which was appreciated.

United StatesOnly 2 thing I wasn't a fan of: 1. Luggage storage is out in the lobby, not behind a closed door. Maybe theft isn't an issue there but I felt nervous about leaving my stuff out where someone could easily walk up and take it. 2. I didn't find the dinner very good. I had tagliatelle and it was very underwhelming.
The overwater bungalows are breathtakingly beautiful. The resort offers free snorkel gear, paddleboards, and other things I didn't use - which are awesome to have access to and easy to take advantage of. There are some good spots to eat and a grocery store close by. The check in process was smooth and they did a lot to welcome me. Overall though I would absolutely recommend staying here and I'm really glad I went for the overwater bungalow because it was uniquely breathtaking. It was clean, had AC, and all the nice amenities I'd expect at a high quality resort.
