Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThere was nothing that we didnt enjoy. It was wonderful.
The location was breath taking. We arrived in the dark so waking to the views across to Moorea were a wonderful surprise. And the sunset from the balcony were amazing. The staff were all lovely and welcoming. The onsite food was delicious and the pool was great. Cannot fault anything about this facility and cannot wait for our next visit.

New ZealandThe road to Ninamu is something to be aware of. Take it very slowly and all will be fine. Our shower had sand in it but was easy enough to clean ourselves.
Loved the view! Comfy room with everything you need. The staff were so helpful and kind. We had a yummy dinner there one night. Would stay again!

PortugalThe extra services are a bit expensive, such as the breakfast and the laundry but work really well. Regarding the road up, I’m quite surprised with such negative comments. Yes, it’s bumpy and steep but if you take it easy, we had absolutely no problems or found it any harder than other roads similar even with our small rental car. I think people are making too much of a big deal about it.
We loved our stay here! The view is breathtaking and the shared pool is big and not busy. The rooms are really big and comfortable, with AC and a fan. we had the family room which was ideal for our family of 4. The breakfast, although slightly towards the expensive, was delicious with a big selection. The staff was also very nice and helped us whenever needed throughout our stay. I would definitely stay here again!

United StatesThe road getting to the property. Unpaved rough road. Needs major repair. NinamuPearl needs to join with their neighbors to have the entrance road paved. Otherwise our stay was wonderful.
Beautiful location. Quiet and peaceful. Very restful. Property beautifully maintained. Cleaning staff was great. They cleaned the deck, mopping the white boards everyday. Enjoyed having our laundry done and returning home with clean clothes. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

New ZealandNot a dislike however I am mentioning it here as I did see other reviewers mention the parking/hill up from the main road so wanted to address this here: The road leading to the guest house - We rented a Hyundai i10 for the duration of our trip and saw the review about the hill so we were a little worried, but honestly, its just a really long hill (see photo of one section of the road). Take your time and it's alright :). Parking - I understand it can be a wee bit confusing but there is parking available depending on where your room is. You can initially park in front of reception (or the little bend by the gate) and if your room is above the reception area then you can drive up and park at the front of your room once you check in so all good!
What's not to love about this guest house! The room and plunge pool were perfect. We booked only one night just to relax and enjoy the view and this was perfect. Didn't try out the common pool/jacuzzi but the common areas were beautifully decorated. The staff member that checked us in/out was very nice and welcoming too so thank you.

CanadaSteep hillside location was very difficult to get to and even had van taxis say they didn't want to try to drive us there. Meal and bar service was very limited so you have to cab regularly to get to restaurants or grocery store if you stay for several days which can get costly.
View was amazing and the primary reason I choose this place for our group of 10. pool was nice but cold. outside deck and seating areas were very nice for accommodating larger groups to hang out. Reasonable size rooms, with a little fridge and amenities to make coffee/tea in the morning. Price was reasonable for Tahiti and the accommodations. Everything was clean and well maintained.

United StatesWe loved everything about Ninamu Pearl. However, the parking situation was a tad confusing upon arrival since the spots inside were occupied when we first arrived and weren't sure how/where to park outside. Nothing that couldn't be sorted out in the morning, though!
Ninamu Pearl was a dream! We were lucky to have most of the place to ourselves during the first part of our stay, and it we couldn't get enough of the view! Everything was very clean, and the staff was very friendly . Considering our late check-in, all the info provided was enough for us to have a smooth check-in. Pictures don't seem to do it justice!

United StatesThere were ants around a lot and these little other things, not sure what they were, but always had to scoop out if the pool the next day. All that is kinda expected in tropical conditions though. The only other suggestion would be to have darker curtains. It was really bright in night we had to use our blanket to cover the windows.
We had the suite with private plunge pool and it was awesome. The views from there were amazing. Having the full kitchen and the size of the whole room was like a house. The food at the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. I would live there if I could.

United StatesThere is a hot tub but it's just a bit warmer than the pool. I suspect the energy requirements are a bit too onerous or costly. Having found no hot tubs at even the Hilton here, I wouldn't hold it against them. The breakfast was great, though too pricey. There are mosquitoes, the sort that bite you in the shadows or the dark. The bites are very itchy at first but quickly go away as the mosquitoes are on the smaller side. I didn't try their TVs. The A/C was pretty weak in our room, but the ceiling fans made up for it. But others may need more.
The location is secluded so I'd recommend planning to relax for some time on the property by the pool or the view. They have lunch and dinner and it's quite reasonably priced for the area. They have drinks of course too, all day, including a decent wine selection. You can do day trips with their rented cars (manual clutch!) or taxis. The service is exceptionally good. The pool is quite nice.

ItalyLovely place to stay while in Tahiti! It is up on the hill which allows you to have an amazing view of the ocean. We stayed in the ocean view suite which had a small private pool on the balcony with an amazing view! The room was spacious with all the amenities. Really enjoyed the delicious breakfast served on the main terrace in the mornings. From the same terrace we were able to appreciate also the most stunning sunsets! Great and attentive staff. You can also make reservations for dinner which we tried and was great!
