How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Excellent customer service.
Transport from airport was organised shuttle.. I had scramble egg and baked beans and was excellent.

Housekeeping was not done as efficiently as I expected. I had to request several times for the room to be cleaned thoroughly but it was not attended to.
The room was spacious. Good distance from the airport. Didn't have a chance to actually have breakfast but the dinner was exceptional. Very nice and quiet environment.

It was really hot. In the restaurant, in the room, at the pool. Took away from a lot of the positives. I couldn't change the temp. Was 28°C the whole time. Room service numbers are not on the menu in the room..not sure if I just didn't spot it. Couldn't find it. No soundproofing. The drunk lady in the room opposite might as well have been yelling in my room, and knocking on my door. Anything that happens in the bathroom echoes throughout the room like the door is open. Creaky doors. My baby is a light sleeper, so the hinges on the bathroom door were very loud. Think Haunted abandoned house loud. Dust behind beds and on carpets. As it was very hot, I moved the beds around to get cooler. Was really dusty underneath the bed. My nose isn't sensitive, but my roommate is unfortunately, she sneezed a whole lot. The beds seemed luxurious, but I got a backache . Maybe that's just my experience. Checkout receptionist was very curt, and I felt a little like I stole. Haha. I'm sure it's just my personal experience. Remembering the receptionist during checkout made me more forgiving, some people are just naturally good with people.
I loved the room design, looks-wise: the spaciousness, the mural on the wall, the lighting, the placement of beds, etc. My son loved the balcony, if he was older, Im sure he would've ran straight to the pool, as the balcony had an excellent view of it. The pool was kid friendly. I was very happy with check-in staff, provided me with a parking access pass for the Apartments gate so I could park nearer to the room. Convenient- I think Gateways has the best parking compared to other hotels I've been to. I loved the selection of restaurants available, the accessibility of the ATM and the security guards were very friendly. My son loves the Sepik Carvings in the reception area. Good decor in general.

Food booked for room service was an overcharged for a quantity not worth the amount I paid for. Even there were no tea and coffee options in the rooms
Overall condition and location is good apart from a very expensive crib packs not worth the money.

I didn't like the plain ignorance portraited
I like the environment but not the customer service was very poor because of lazy and incompetent workers at the first desk. It took me all day to check into my apartment which I had paid for 2 days prior to check-in. They need better booking system and also better management for guest.

The room I initially booked wasn't clean. Slow service. Waited over 30 minutes to be served. Ordered room service which took an hour and only delivered after I called to check.

The A/C unit was not working from the first night till the afternoon of the following day... we were transferred to another room available late afternoon.
