Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe path from the main road to the villa (few minutes walk) was not paved and bumpy so walk carefully. You are in nature, in a tropical country. Please be aware that natural “friends” such as lizard and spider may show up inside your villa. Carl was very quick in responding. His staff came to relocate those “friends”.
A beautifully designed and furnished villa in the middle of a rice field. You are in nature, feeling serene and relaxed. Carl, the owner was very helpful and friendly. We had a pleasant stay.

United StatesNothing that I don't like, it was a great experience staying at their place.
I like the fact that it was quite peaceful and out of city life if you wanted to go to the beach it was very close. If you wanted to eat there's a few you could eat just nearby, 30 min. away to town by motorcycle. The staff are great, if you asked about something they would attend to our needs right away. The owners are very helpful and very respectful hosts. Good breakfast, love their pancakes. All in all, it was a great place to stay if you wanted to stay away from the city life.

GermanyWould have given 10/10 but for a few minor things - a door separating the bathroom from the bedroom area would be nice, for example. But any issue that popped up was promptly dealt with by Carl and Pierre-Yves. You'll definitely need a scooter to get around the area and to get to El Nido too, which they can rent to you from a local family.
Our bungalow was gorgeous, so tastefully decorated and with a lot of lovely little touches. Carl and Pierre-Yves were super-helpful throughout our stay and we absolutely loved the dinner they put on for us in the amazing dining area. Everything about the bungalow was just about perfect and the wi-fi and air-con worked perfectly, considering the location of property.

JapanWhat a lovely stay… this is the most beautiful villa that we have ever stayed in the Philippines! They took care of every detail, they even have a beach bag with beach towels & portable speaker!! They also arranged our private island tour and it was amazing ! The boat was huge and the food was delicious ! Breakfast was tasty, the banana pancake with cacao nibs was my favorite! Can’t wait to see how this hotel will progress and have their final vision of it !!!

RussiaThis was the best boutique hotel experience we've ever stayed at (and we are fortunate to travel quite frequently). Every single person we interacted with at the hotel was lovely, friendly, kind, and helpful. The service was another level and you genuinely felt like everyone was doing whatever they could to help you. Owner is passionate with hospitality and really knows what he does! The villa Ponciana was beautifully decorated, as expected. Breakfast was amazing and fresh! They even serve Filipino black Coffee ! We asked the hotel to pick us up at the airport and even from that, the service was already amazing. We asked them if it is possible to prepare us a late lunch, and of course they said yes! They only use fresh products from the local market and the food was so delicious! My wife even asked for the recipe of their sizzling tofu ! I cannot recommend visiting this eco boutique hotel enough. They worth A LOT more than the price that they offer.

CanadaCarl & Pierre are a lovely host/couple. They have built a beautiful oasis in the middle of rice paddy prior to Nacpan beach. Peaceful with birds singing and the night sky is filled with stars. Carl is great at prompt communication which I truly appreciate especially during my travels. A must travel experience for anyone planning to go to Nacpan beach.

GermanyEverything was perfect. 🤩 As little recommendation, it would be great to have two options for breakfast to choose from every day available. One sweet and one savory would be perfect. The Omelette and the chia bowl were devine.
Impeccable clean little villa. Perhaps the most modern amenities in shower and bathroom we have experienced in 5 weeks of traveling the Philippines.

United KingdomDifficult to call it ‘didn’t like’ but I was expecting the beautiful smoothie bowl for breakfast that is shown online and we got pancakes instead. Still very delicious but just to manage expectations.
The rooms are so well decorated and comfortable, it feels very luxurious and relaxing. The hosts were so so helpful with amazing recommendations around the area and also they’ve smoothly arranged the rental of our scooter. The rice fields around the area are beautiful and would definitely recommend renting a scooter to get around and see the sights as well as reaching the near by beaches.

CanadaEl Nido in general (outside of the host's control) has a lot of power outages, data signal issues, wifi issues, and no taxi's. However, the beauty and vibe of this island is unlike no other. Due to the villas being located on a farm, there is a significant amount of insects that might visit your villa. Any issues you have ; just speak to your hosts. They will go above and beyond to make sure they have found a solution to make you comfortable! They are the best hosts you will find in El Nido!
The villas, the experience, and the hosts Carl and P.Y. are absolutely amazing! Very quiet and very well designed boutique resort. I would 100% recommend. We visited several beaches during our stay, and Nacpan beach/twin beach (5 mins away in moped) was our favorite one. Waking up to the most gorgeous sunrises over the rice fields with some fresh hot coffee and pancakes/smoothie bowls made by the hosts was an amazing way to start the day.

FranceAn amazing stay at Alon: rainshower, comfortable bed, impeccable attention to detail and freshly-made delicious breakfast! With the rooms decorated with local art and with the gorgeous scenery of the rice fields right outside, I felt immersed in peace and nature. But what really made my stay special is the attention and care by the wonderful hosts Pierre Yves and Carl. They really put their hearts and souls into making sure I felt at home! The location is perfect, away from the hustle and bustle of touristic spots, but close to the beautiful El Nido beaches.

United KingdomThe secluded location does mean that accessibility can be challenging for some. I think it is best suited for people comfortable with traveling on scooters, which Carl and PY gracefully helped organise for us and gave my husband an impromptu scooter lesson. It is the most convenient and cheapest way to travel around the island as other means of transportation are limited and expensive. This is more a reflection of the area than the hotel, but the various dirt roads dramatically slows down inexperienced scooter riders (like us)!
Carl and PY have created a beautifully designed oasis right amongst the rice fields. The house which we stayed in was superb and every little detailed was exceptional. My husband and I especially enjoyed our home-made morning breakfasts and conversations with the two - so personable and friendly, we felt right at home! Also loved how close we were to Nacpan beach.

United KingdomThe perfect little paradise. We started our Philippines holiday here at Alon. And felt instantly relaxed. The decor of this place is an absolute dream! PY And Carl are the most attentive hosts. Thank you so much! We couldn’t have asked for a better first week in the countryside. We chilled at Nacpan beach everyday and miss this little haven already. JapanThere is no phone connection in that area but that’s not their fault.
Communication with the hosts was on point. Carl and Pierre are always there to help, organize transportation, a tour or a motorbike if needed. We appreciate the hospitality and the effort both of them put in running their Eco-Hotel. It was a true pleasure having chats with them every morning while enjoying their home-made breakfast. The scenery around the place is breathtaking. The design of the villas is truly special and made us feel at home instantly. Every little detail in this place adds up and makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. The starlink was almost always working and providing high speed internet. We would love to stay at Alon again in the future and highly recommend this place to other travelers.
