Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe toilette was not that clean and a cockroach paid us a visit. Unfortunately, bodywashes were not provided.
The kindness of the staff and the amazing view during the day and night. Also, the minimalist breakfast menue was perfect in order for you not to get overwhelmed. Visit the restaurant for dinner. A delicious selection awaits you.

PhilippinesThe bathroom is quite small, but not a dealbreaker. There’s also a lot of stairs, so families with seniors and PWDs might need to inform the hotel in advance for extra assistance.
We stayed as a group and were happy that the room is nice, clean, and cozy. There’s not a lot of space, but we only stayed for a night so we didn’t bring a lot of things. Outside the room are 3 pools that you can choose from. One other thing that we liked was the Beef Tapa for breakfast! It was a surprise treat for us. Overall, the place was okay and worth its price. I’m considering to come back again with friends for a simple staycation.

PhilippinesThere’s a lot of stray cats roaming about. Some of the common toilets near the pool are not working. The stairs! Although we expected it reading from the previous reviews. Perhaps change some ofthem to ramps instead so it’s easier to navigate for older and disabled people.

PhilippinesReceptionist (Maureen?) asked us to fill up a form for pre-ordering our breakfast. We chose our food and indicated 9am as our arrival for breakfast. Next morning came and we went to the restaurant. Staff wasn’t there upon our arrival. We assisted ourselves to the table and then a lady came and asked for our room number. To our dismay, we were told that they didn’t have one of our orders. I asked why. They said they only have Tapa and Hotdog available for the day and have informed “them” (I’m assuming it’s the reception) through their “GC”. We have given our pre-order as early as 11am the day before. What’s the point of doing a pre-order only to find out it’s not available?? They also served us white rice despite us ordering garlic rice. So I called the staff and asked how come we were served with white rice. She said there’s no more garlic rice. I asked if she was serious. She then asked me if I was willing to wait so they can cook the garlic rice. 5minutes later, voila we got our rice. Water is chargeable. And despite our bad experience, the staff didn’t even think to do something right. I saw another two guests who came later than us. They were informed that the food will be in takeaway boxes. Horrible. Pity them they only had hotdogs to eat by then despite them pre-ordering something else too. They came at around 9:40am and your breakfast ends at 10am. They kept on standing to get something from the staff while the staff was just sitting in her corner. Literally there were only two tables at the time with no service staff to be found. I would be furious if I were them. Seriously, how lazy can your staff be?? As I was leaving the restaurant, I bid farewell to the lady, I didn’t get a response. Such a dismay and totally dampened our whole experience. Door was hard to lock. Toilet was a bit dirty. Common toilets were left dirty during the day, might be due to their rental of cottages for day trips.
Generally, the property looks good but maintenance need to improve. The front office staffs were friendly and accommodating. Thanks to Maureen who checked us in early. The housekeeping staffs have been helpful too. Aircondition was working well.

United KingdomMy stay was ruined by the dilapidated nature of the hotel environs and ongoing renovations. The view from the room and the several flights of rough concrete stairs were especially unacceptable to me for a so called 'mountain resort'. Further, the menu was very limited, with several items being marked as "Coming soon!". The rate of PHP6,720 on the day was certainly not justified in my opinion. My request for a room upgrade was not successful as the place was apparently booked out.
The room, although small, was refurbished and the service from the staff was good I have to point out, so it was not a total disaster.

United StatesNote: The property is under renovation/construction in some areas and the only pool available is not heated. Also, be aware that it is a mountain property, so expect stairs throughout the property. Lastly, another deterrent is the cash ONLY policy on the property. All transactions to include purchase of food, drinks, deposit, use of transportation, etc. can only be done in cash.
Altaroca's rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. The AC worked very well. We also took a swim in the pool during our stay and it was very refreshing. Note: Pool is not heated. The other 2 pools on the property are under renovation. Breakfast was good and the view from where we were seated added to the morning conversation and ambiance. We also ate dinner on the resort and we enjoyed all the Filipino food served to us. Overall, the staff was very accommodating. Transportation into town, mall, and to sites such as Hinilugang Taktak is available for a fee.

AustraliaI was informed I need to pay for corkage even for buying two bottles of drinking water from outside. I was also told I need to pay for corkage everytime I order food from outside. 500PHP every time, even if you are ordering a burger worth 100 PHP. I have never seen these policies in any other place I have stayed in the Philippines so far. And I told them I am not going to pay for that, they said they need to speak to their boss, and after all those conversations, I was 'allowed to' take the water in. Extended the stay by another day, and there is no housekeeping, changing of sheets/ towels and replenishing room supplies. Again when I asked, they said I need to pay even for change of towels. To which I said I am not going to do that. They again 'spoke to the management' and finally changed my towels and refilled the supplies, but no change of sheets though. Breakfast ends at 9AM, which is a bit too early considering the fact one tends to wake up a bit late during vacations. I believe it should be available until 10 AM. There are no lifts in this property, just stairs. However the staff will assist you in carrying your heavy luggage. I strongly believe Booking.com should review their policies, to be on par with the other hotels listed on the platform. I would have given this property an overall score of 7 or 8, if they did not have the above mentioned policies.
The staff is kind, polite and friendly.

PhilippinesBetter if the restaurant will also serve fruit shakes, ice cream, halo halo, and the like especially during summer 😊 Suggest also that the resort should invest in smart TVs with netflix for added staycation experience 😁
I like that it was not crowded although it was a holiday. Upon check in we were greeted by staffs and welcomed with a smile. We waited for a few minutes then they ushered us to our room. Their rooms are clean with strong AC (definitely a plus factor). The beds are comfortable and clean bed sheets and enough pillows (another plus). The bathroom is small but with good water pressure and hot and cold shower. Also, it was clean and with glass divider for the shower. There are 3 pools and all are within close proximity so it was not difficult to find. I like that their inhouse restaurant has appropriate amount of choices for the menu. We had our dinner in the resto and the food is good for the price. Overall it was a satisfying overnight stay. Would definitely come back for a short trip again.
