Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomair con was hit and miss, the room was very small (bunk beds for a twin room), the pool is a lot smaller than it looks in photos. no social vibe really.
lovely host, cheaper than other hostels, far enough away from the loud 'strip', great cheap food and drink right beside the property, free coffee and water.

Spain2nd floor double room at the end was pretty small, super hot, although the aircon was good and worked well. The floor seems like its going to godown every time you walk there.
We liked the area which was very near to the Mercado and basketball court, you can find very good restaurants around. The receptionist was very nice and was ready to help everyday!

GermanyThe toilet were cleaned daily but the "pipes were very delicate" so they were clogged quite often. The room itself was smaller than expected and seemed a bit unstable since you could see trough cracks in the floor and the ceiling. The 2 shared toilets and showers are on the lower floor, be aware that the stairs are really steep!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. There's free coffee and water. Overall the vibe was really nice, so considering the low price we can recommend to stay here.

We arrived late at night and Babu responded to my message very quickly and was very accommodating of our late arrival, ensuring we got into our room. Great value for money and very close to Moalboal beach and all the restaurants.

United KingdomWe purposely booked somewhere with a pool however it was unusable, it was never cleaned the whole time we were there and we never saw anyone else use it either. With it being right next to the road, the pool was very dirty. One morning we also woke up to use the communal showers to find that a stray dog must have gone through the bins and garbage was all over the floor.
The girl behind the desk was super helpful and lovely. The location is great, only a short walk to the bustle of bars and restaurants as well as the beach. Free coffee and water was a massive bonus!

United KingdomVery clean & lovely sitting area for few drinks at night. The rooms are basic but have everything you need really, the shared bathrooms are very clean also. Hot water didn’t work in the showers but not too big of a deal considering how hot the Philippines is. Air con in the room was great also. Great value for money ! We got a private triple room for £15 last minute

GermanyWe had the private room with private bathroom. Actually we did not use the shower because its super small and in the toilet room. You could not close the door properly. Another thing was the noises. We were lucky to bring our earplugs because the sounds from the street and the AC + our veeery squeaky doublebed were a lot… We paid double the price from the Double room with shared shower which is not reasonable..
Very nice Location in a nice part of Moalboalx Very chilled and quiet Hostel. Very nice and helpful staff, always welcomes you with a smile.

AustraliaThe staff was friendly and helpful. But as we were there just old philippino men were staying in the room. The bed were just next to each other with not very much private space or separetion cause the mattress were literally just next to each other. The room was to cold and we had to start a big argument with the filipino roomate. Shower was cold. The dorm door is just outside near the street and you can not lock the doors. We knew we were just 3 in the room and then in the middle of the night a group of 2 men came in with a guy from the staff. I was scared as hell and you don’t feel safe.
Friendly and helpful staff

United StatesDon't stay here and keep your sanity" Where to begin: on day two, the water in our room, private AC double with en suite shower, just weakened and trickled to a steady child's door #1. That means forgettaboutit of taking normal showers and we did jungle style by pouring buckets of water slowly and strategically over our bodies for 4 days. On day 5th, our final full day, water shut off was complete. NO WATER! Not even tiny drips. For good part of a day. To be fair, I did address it to Catherine, the agreeable lady manager, who was quite professional and courteous and suggested that we shower in a dorm room where water pressure was normal, which we did. But we didn't paid for a shared bath room. Just our sh***y luck that no water is pumped into our room with en suite bathroom. The big irony is that there's a kiddie pool, about 8x8, just half-a-step outside our room! Question is why bother with a small kiddie pool when spectacular P.B. is 10 mins walk away? Deal with the structural water pipes and pressure in restrooms for the guests 1st and avoid complaints and comments like this coming from guests! Noise pollution: our so-called private nice room, the last of room addition I suspect, is built inches away from the main thoroughfare - the Pagnasana Beach Blvd - (meandering its way to dusty, scrappy Pagnasana Beach for awesome sardine runs) that plagued us in our room with a rousing symphony and chaotic cacophony of occasional large trucks with "Egyptian Brakes" speeding thru, plentiful motorcycles on suicide missions, sputtering clankering trikes on their last wheels, chorus of noisy roosters in the neighborhood crowing early morning, and nightly wannabe hip disco dumps and shaggy bars just stone's throws away from Babu Backpacker's Inn just BASS-THUMPING away til very late, all assaulted us with noise pollutions no different from some dark alley in Manila and max decibels like some Swifties concerts on steroid!
Managment and staff were eager to help but the inn's water pipe and pressure needs serious upgrades. Also Coffee and free water.

United KingdomVery difficult to get to sleep. The air con in the room was extremely old and very noisey, even ear plugs could not drown it out and the entire room seemed to vibrate all night. Pillows were very poor and the bed uncomfortable.
The location was close to the centre and beach. Staff were friendly and always happy to help.
