Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomElectricity only at night 5pm to 5 am but with frequent black outs. The problem is with no electricity there was no fan so some nights were unbearably hot. Lots of ants, crawling up feet and gave bites.
Beautiful location with nice houses. If you’re looking for simplicity and desert island feel, this is the right place. Great for contact with nature and spending time outside (beach, snorkelling, kayaking, jungle walks, volleyball etc). Good food and drinks. Fresh water and showers available. Soap, towels, private shower. Toilet shared with others. Super kind owner and helpful staff.

NetherlandsNothing could have been better, maybe the other guests that brought their karaoke set could have been more quiet (because their singing was terrible haha) but that was one night only for us so we didn’t mind that much.
Truly an amazing location and very nice personnel. A little paradise of tranquility and beauty! The food was great too and the simplicity of the camp side had all we needed. Thank you so much to the team for making our stay here so fantastic!

FranceAmazing !!! The best place we stayed in 🇵🇭. Service, location everything is very good. The best beach of the island is there and for yourself. Very good staff, they all did make everything easy for us offering free check-in and check-out boat and even a very comfy AC car to get us to el nido for 500php/p wich is unbeatable price. By the way the driver is a very nice guy and very careful driver. Andy did take good care of us all the time. Snorkel gear, Badminton gear, volley-ball gear, basketball nearby.. they have everything you may need. Hidden gem for real !

ItalyThe lack of shade in the beach, I suggest to put a couple of sun shades or plant some more trees
The location is incredible, I recommend spending a couple of nights in this little island

Amazing place, amazing staff. You really get the feeling of being on a desert island. Perfect for disconnecting and experiencing a true island lifestyle. Food is amazing, and the people from the small village are very welcoming. Will repeat for sure!

HungaryThe place is perfect just as it is - I would have loved to stay longer though :-)
It is the perfect location for people who want to enjoy a "close to nature" type of holiday. The island and the beautiful beaches are the most breathtaking ones I have seen in my 3 week long travel around the Philippines. The food is good, the company is even better.

SwitzerlandChoices of healthy non fried food and alcoholic drinks very limited. Lack of places that have shade. Only one comfy hammock. No activities offered.
Beautiful beach. Very friendly staff. Pick up worked very well. Clean huts and toilets. Expect simplicity not luxury. Beautiful reef and ship wreck right in front, accessible with snorkeling. This island was clearly a highlight of my whole trip! Loved it!

HungaryThe matraces were a little thin and the plugins were not in a conveniant place to get to easily. But in the end i barely used them so it was ok🤗
It is the perfect placeq for someone who is not looking for a crowded touristy place but wants to enjoy the breathtaking beach and the excellent company. Bungalows instead of moldy rooms, facilities are really taken care of and the common place is the best part of the camp! The mood is really chill, relaxing yet always interesting with talks, cardgames and the shipwreck that is just 2 minutes away from the shore. Even the people staying there were super nice, such as tge people working there - as a solo traveler, it is very important to me! Of course Andy was the nicest but everyone knows it🥰

AustraliaThe location of the camp gets next to no breeze so it was unbearably hot at times, and there is not ample shaded areas. The place could definitely do with a whole lot more comfortable seating as most of it was pretty uncomfortable and seeing as though there isn’t much to do here except lounge around it would be nice for more spaces to do this (especially in the shade). I think some more care could be taken with noise and cigarette smoke around the huts, I found it was like someone was smoking in our room from when I wake up to when I go to sleep since our hut was near the back, and had some issues with someone’s phone going off into the night obnoxiously loud when everyone had obviously gone to sleep (I don’t know if it was staff or guest) but I think a point needs to be made about phones since everything is so tight knit and any sound is like it is in your room. It’s definitely not somewhere you will be sleeping in since it gets very hot and the sweeping starts before 7am. A few little changes with this place could really turn it from a good to great stay :)
Beautiful location, nice food at the restaurant (servings were big enough for us to share between 2 mostly), lovely snorkelling (lots of Nemo’s) and good value for money compared to neighbouring accomodations. The beach here is definitely the best! There is nothing to do except snorkel and chill so don’t expect any activities.

PolandAwesome place! A paradise on earth! I recommend it to anyone who wants to recharge their internal batteries with sunshine, peace and carefreeness. The houses are very modest, although there is nothing missing. Sanitary facilities ok. You can eat tasty food at the bar/reception. In the village deep inside the island there are shops where you can buy additional supplies. There is also the Internet. Current between 6 and 10 p.m. We spent 8 days at Backpackers Island, which is a lot, because most guests come for a day or two. You can rent diving equipment, splash endlessly in the water, walk, sunbathe, read, and play games. By going to the village you can take a closer look at the life of the natives. You can also go to the other 2 resorts, eat or buy a trip. The entire staff was very cordial and helpful. It is a return to a simple life in harmony with nature. We will be happy to return there.

New ZealandWould be good if there was more shade available during the heat of the day (whenever the sun is up!) as it can be quite a busy place with day tours and visitors.
Beautiful beach with good snorkelling at the ship wreck on your doorstep. Good value for money on a small island.

PolandDarocotan Island is a true gem, a paradise and our favorite destination in the entire Philippines. With its white sand beach and a fantastic snorkeling spot featuring a shipwreck surrounded by vibrant corals and colorful fishes, it's a haven. The island's peaceful, car, and scooter-free environment make it an incredibly unique place. The accommodation, though simple, provides everything you need—from a refreshing shower to a comfy mattress with a mosquito net and hammocks for chilling out. We would have loved to extend our stay much longer. Don't hesitate to book here; it's a must-see, truly magical!

SerbiaThere's no electricity during the day, therefore not adequate for work. Not a major issue, although I would have appreciated this piece of info in the property description when booking.
Laidback ambience, basic but clean and comfy huts, and helpful staff. Snorkeling is great, with the shipwreck and reef right in front of you. There's a variety of food options at the bar, with prices (understandably) slightly higher than the city.

HungaryWe had a fantastic experience at this accommodation on a small tropical island, providing nomadic conditions that allowed us to experience what it's like to be shipwrecked. The staff is extremely friendly, the food is superb, and one truly feels like they're in paradise. However, it's not suitable for those seeking comfort and who are afraid of animals, as in this place, we are the guests, and the animals are at home.

This was our FAVORITE PLACE on our 3 week travel through Philippines! The island is stunning, the staff (especially the receptionist called Andy) is very friendly, warm and helpful. It is a true paradise! The huts are on the beach, so you wake up and go directly to the see 😎 The food was great and quality/ price was good! You can rent snorkeling gear and explore the coral gardens and the shipwreck, which is an absolutely amazing experience!

AustraliaRoosters. We had this issue at a few remote places. Part of the experience in Palawan. Also, something to consider about the place- we got a shared minivan to Puerto Princessa after our stay. We waited almost an hour to be picked up from the port. Then they drove around for over an hour picking people up. It turned a 6 hour journey into an 8 hour one. I’d recommend organising private transport or a night in el nido first.
Location is amazing. Beautiful. Basic but comfortable huts and clean shared bathrooms. The restaurant isn’t cheap but the food is good.
