Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaWhen full of people it's not private and you can hear literally everything from the next door. Toilet and shower a bit rough, but you can expect this since it's pretty remote location.
Hosts were amazing!!! Incredible hospitality provided which you just need to try by yourself! Since you arrive you feel like a part of the family, home-made seafood daily! Everything is possible to arrange, island hoping tour, land tour, food, motorcycle, wifi, everything. Accommodation as such is pretty basic and nothing for fancy people, but kindness and service of the hosts just made my stay unforgettable.

PhilippinesThe shared bathroom had hooks where you can hang your clothes but so little space for toiletries. Not sure if the faucet wasn't working but their helper had to fetch water by the pail for me. Its door was also difficult to lock, so keep this in my mind if you're picky.
Accommodating hosts! Ma'am Hemmy and sir Steve are very kind and friendly. They made sure I enjoy my trip and they helped me arrange the tours without a hassle. You can tell that they're truly passionate about making their guests have a good stay in the island. The food is super delicious (although some dishes were a bit sweet to my liking). For only 250 pesos, their seafood dinner and lunch are really worth the price. The room is spacious enough. It didn't have a lot of stuff inside other than the bed, a bedside table, lamp, and AC. They offer free wifi which is a lifesaver as there is no cell signal in the island. Other things to note: they have a number of kids and dogs in the homestay

PhilippinesI think they should focus for the facilities' improvements, especially the comfort rooms. It is understandable that the availability of water from tha area is difficult but I hope they can find ways in the future.
I like how they treat their visitors like family. They are very accommodating and trustworthy. We also want to stay there a little longer. We're gonna miss them, especially Teacher Hemmy and Sir Steve and Mam Priscilla and kuya alvin, our tour guide... We will definitely go back to the island soon! They served good food. Especially if you like fresh seafood you will really enjoy it! It is budget friendly and worth the price!

PhilippinesThe accommodations could benefit from further renovations. Booking at this location could further help the owners improve their facility. If you have a sensitive tummy, bring your own water. Always confirm/clarify your booking: how many rooms and how many people. The online booking is managed by a partner and limited access online is available on site so some confusion may happen. However, everything gets sorted out by the hosts so you would be just fine!
Steve and Hemmy are great hosts! We enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time. Always ask in advance if you can also book the island hopping tour in advance. Also try to request for the non-touristy tour/secret island hopping locations. You may request different kinds of sea foods in advance. Their meals costs 250 pesos per meal and this includes fresh sea foods. It is best to reach the destination through Bancal Port. There are also boats at Estancia but the port tends to be very smelly especially is you stay for too long waiting for your trip. If you are using Estancia port, just reserve your seats then head out to the nearby mall to chill or have your lunch. The trip from estancia would take about 2 hours. Bancal port is smaller but has plenty of fresh air. At the location, book for a land tour as well. Do this in the morning or in the afternoon. The Bakwit cave is worth exploring. If you need anything else, just ask Steve. The place if full of wonderful seafoods! Upon booking, send them a message about your requests. We were in doubt going to this location initially but it turned out to be our most wonderful experience during our trip to Iloilo.
