Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyAt 6.00am you can hear scooters, but it was ok for us as we had to wake up early anyways!
Awesome place to stay for a few days! Clean and good vibes. 15 minutes by scooter, easy to get there. Breakfast is excellent and the basic one is included and enough. Rooms are small but cozy. The bed is very comfy. The toilets are nice and clean as well. And the staff is really kind and informative. They helped us to book tour A and to have a ride to port Barton. Thank you so much!

PolandThe only downside, apart from being very close to nature but it depends what one likes, is the location. It got a bit annoying that we couldn't just walk to the city etc (about 15mins scooter drive away) but the place does rent out scooters and a part of its magic is being very rural.
What an amazing stay. We felt like a part of the family from our very first breakfast there, the host is extremely warm and helpful. The houses are very basic, with just a bed, fan and light inside but we were ok with it. The toilet is surprisingly clean seeing it is literally in the middle of nature. Breakfasts are amazing and the fact that you can rent a scooter there saved us a lot of time!

BelgiumNothing, just be aware that you will have to shower with a big bucket of water since the shower head has a low water pressure. There is also not hot water so if you’re not used to this, it can be a bit outside of your comfort zone.
The huts were really cosy, it was a unique experience

HungaryWe had a great stay here. The room was simple, but great. Annie was a super amazing host! She helped us booking tours, transfer and scooter (onsight). The food she made was very tasty and the portion was huge! Everybody else were very kind and nice. I can only recommend Banana Grove!

United KingdomNothing - it’s cosy but we knew that before we went and there’s obviously noise from the street with the dogs and bikes but we knew that and took ear plugs which helped! Worth it for the lovely location and people.
Exactly as described - lovely staff incredibly helpful and friendly, great vibe. Gave us a lift to the beach as soon as we arrived.

FranceThe only thing is that there are currently no shower heads. So there is running water, only you need to adapt your shower method a little bit to more of a bucket over your head situation. To us, this only added to the charm of Banana Grove for our 2 night stay.
The best hosts I have had so far in the Philipines. Annie and Tom were super welcoming and helpful. We booked last minute because of some other cancelled travel plans and they were super accomodating, gave us tips and helped us renting scooters to get around El Nido. When you stay there, please try the food, breakfast and dinner was amazing! Thanks a million!

United KingdomWe felt some things weren't explained fully when we arrived (e.g availability of food in the evening) but we think we arrived at a particularly busy time for them. The water pressure in the shower was very low for a couple of days. It was quite loud at night, mainly dogs (which can be expected for the location!).
Cute huts with a big bed. The common area was nice to use in the evenings. The food was amazing, both breakfast and dinners. Annie helped us a lot organising our transport to Coron and with motorbike rental. Mosquito nets over the bed was appreciated. There was good WiFi.

JapanLocation is a bit far from the center, which is a good thing. They rent scooter, so we could go everyday to the center for the tours, but also to the beaches nearby.
It’s like a backpacker place, so super friendly staff and guests, good price (breakfast included) and environment is nice.

Great place to stay away from the crowds of the city. Annie, the host, is a lovely lady, warm & welcoming, and her breakfast menu is incredible. Fresh tropical fruits with your breakfast are a winner for me. Her veggie omelette is also delicious. You can hire a scooter from Annie , no problem, she has them on site. You can book boat tours with Christine through Annie. We booked a private boat tour, and it was an amazing experience. Christine offers this at a great price, so it's worth it. Christine can tailor the tour to you. She offers something different to the main boat tours in El Nido. She has a great team of guys on the boat, the captain (forgive me, I cannot remember his name) has great knowledge of the area, which I think is a must. We were arriving at different spots on the tour while the crowds of tourists were leaving, bliss. We would definitely rebook here. We loved it ❤️ thanks Annie 😊
