At times there was a strong sewage scent in the bathroom - not exactly sure what caused it. Also the main showerhead was not functioning properly. You cannot pay by card (except with an additional 3% charge and on Aus$) which was unexpected.

Very friendly staff good restaurant and bar and pool facilities. Room was big and comfortable with a nice big terrace as well. The tour offerings that they have are also great and they are efficient in coordinating with the right people. Did the country and the boat tours.

Location on a quiet side street just off the main drag. The pool is incredible - the rooms are amazing - wide wine selection - fantastic staff. Wish I could have stayed for a month.

There were building works happening next door, minimal noise but there is a bit when sitting by the pool

The resort was beautiful, really well maintained and presented and a gorgeous pool area. The staff were fantastic always happy to help and greeted with a smile, nothing was too much trouble. Food was great, especially our breakfast omelettes! Rooms were comfortable and spacious with great a/c. Able to help with arranging a tour to see the chocolate hills, tarsier sanctuary and floating restaurant. Great that we were able to pay by card (with a 3% fee)

It’s 2024 now - there should be an option to pay on card ?! If you pay by PayPal an extra 5% charge on top. Not good. Some of the shower equipment the paint was coming away - I would say this was the only Thing that gave it away it has been worn a lot.

The location was down a dark road and on the side but was very safe.

The room was spacious, looked posh, and had all the features we could ever need. The staff were so friendly The pool bar was amazing, and they even delivered drinks to us. The food at the bar was really great. We had some minor issues with the room which they resolved quickly.

Wifi was spotty or inconsistent. The extra bed was quite hard. Location is not so accessible to alona or other restaurants by walking

The staff were very friendly so we had no problem asking them for our needs. Everything is also near which is just 1 floor down. It’s nice that they have contact with tricycle drivers so that its easy for us to travel to the beach and restaurants.

Not really didn't like but things to improve perhaps: Stone use in the path way is a little rough, but that's ok just wear slippers. The chairs at the bar are a little rough too, so you have to be careful not to hurt your legs when you're wearing a swim suit especially for ladies. Maybe that can be improved. The door knob is a little dysfunctional in room 2 I have a hard time inserting the key and locking the door. Food is limited but they are trying to improve their menu and they accommodate some of my requests to alter my kids meal. The control in the shower room is a little bit tricky and the water is not that strong compared to the one at the shower area in the pool. Also you can maybe improve by providing room slippers as well. Plus Aircon seems to be on automatic settings so even if you put it on 17 degrees it will go back to 27 and will change over time I'm not sure depending on the room temp perhaps so you have to really wait and use the wall fan, good thing they have one. The area is a little warm because it is close to other resorts and not enough ventilation perhaps or that's the case when you are near the beach but not in front with trees not so sure. The resort is not really walking distance (especially in the scorching heat of the sun) from the beach so you need to ride Tuktok, the road also is still rough, stoney not yet cemented. Alona beach itself is not that great of a place to swim or beach bum, it's a party place for people as they say, there are lots of restaurants and establishment, they say it's the Boracay of Bohol. So having a good resort like Bathala is a plus. P.S sorry my pics are from myday cause I was not able to take pics per segment during our stay, so busy with life 😂 and I forgot I am doing the review soon.

The resort itself is a great place to stay with a reasonable price especially for families with toddlers because of the play area in front of the bar so parents can still enjoy it while kids play. Win win hehehe the place looks new and well maintained. The staff are kind and approachable especially ate Barista I forgot her name sorry. The room we got is in front of the pool area so it's strategically nice and the design is good as well with vanity mirror feels or lighting very modern and chic. I also appreciate the veranda and the sala set inside the room it's spacious and you have a lot of options where to stay. The sliding door as well is cool for easy access. I love that they are not strict in the pool area, I mean you can bring your drinks and eat so that's a total vacation feeling for me. I love the resort overall even if they don't have gates it was safe and you can leave your stuff if you are already checked out so you can still roam around. It's a reasonable place to stay if you want to have a little cheaper resort while you are on tours.

The parking lot is very limited with probably 2 vehicles only. They don’t use credit cards yet so you have to pay cash during your stay.

The place was very nice. Recently opened. The pool is just in front of your room and there’s a bar in the pool. The rooms are neat and lots of seating area.

The staff needs way more training and discipline. They allow themselves to gather around the bar (4-5 of them) and talk louder than the music… it came to the point they yell to call each others from the other side of the hotel. They are also eating at the bar, which is not appropriate.

Brand new place with a fantastic pool. Short walking distance to the main road where all the restaurants and bars are. Room is big and they have a nice little seating area just outside of your room. Even though we stayed in the 1st floor it was superb. Food options at the restaurant are good too and the staff is super kind, very helpful and always willing to help.
