We loved the hospitality from Berni’s Hostel! Janice was very helpfull and welcoming. Pool, shower and bed were great. Moalboal in general was also a great town on our trip! You could walk to the city if you would like that but you can easily rent a bike with the staff.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay here! The room was very spacious, quiet and clean. Hosts were very friendly and helped organise multiple tours for us. It is a decent 10min walk to the main area as we didn’t hire a bike but very doable.

The only reason I can see that Bernis Hostel is called a hostel is because the bar also acts as a communal kitchen. However this quiet, beautiful gem of a resort is absolutely well above what we would commonly associate as a hostel. The property is wonderful. It has car parking available, a well kept swimming pool and spacious big rooms with all the facilities expected of a 3 star resort. It's a short 10 minute walk to the main tourist belt where all the restaurants are located. The walk at night can be a challenge due to lack of street lighting in some parts so renting a motorbike would be a good option to get to the tourist belt. I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 night stay and the staff were absolutely amazing, polite and helpful. You cannot go wrong booking Bernis Hostel and I highly recommend the owner, the staff and the property for your stay in Moalboal.

It is on a walking distance from the restaurants, however during daylight it can be quite hot, therefore renting a bike is a must.

The hostel is very clean, room is great and amenities worked perfectly. They also offer a kitchen for those who want to prepare their own breakfast!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time staying at Berni's. Berni and Janice (and their 5-year-old son Sebastian) are friendly, helpful and absolutely hospitable, it felt like family staying with them! The location is 800m off the bustling touristy main street of Moalboal and we like how peaceful and quiet it is. We stayed for 4 nights. We had a moped accident on our third day, and Janice's experience as a midwife/nurse was a huge blessing to us. We are so grateful to have her tend to our wounds and patch us up. Their warmth and care made our already comfortable stay even more special. We also liked their open guest kitchen with cooking utensils, fridge and free water. We bought our supplies for breakfast from the supermarket and enjoyed it on the terrace. Everything was kept clean by guests and staff members. We also used their pool, which is nice and cleaned regularly by a pool robot. Thank you for a wonderful stay

We knew that we booked a little outside of town so this wasn’t a problem for us, and if you rent a scooter it is easy to move around! Note: If you plan on walking or taking a tricycle around you might have further distances to go to get into town and the main beach!!

Bernice & Janice were very helpful hosts! From helping us book a private car from Mactan Airport in Cebu City, to advice on scooter rentals, advice about things to see and do in Moalboal, and sharing any other information that we asked for regarding our stay! Big and clean rooms with a safe and ample storage space for bags! Good shower & AC! The Pool, lounge area and filtered water were nice additions.

There’s quite a lot of ants but that cant be helped due to where you are.

This was a home away from home. We’ve never felt more welcome in an accommodation & we’ve been travelling for 4 months. Berni & his wife could not of been nicer, welcoming us home every day & offering advice for getting around Moalbol. The pool was great & the kitchen was such a nice homely touch.

It was a little far from the main road where we all the bars, restaurants and activities are available. I think it was roughly 15mins walk to these places. It's convenient to have a car or moped rented so that you can save time from walking, but for awareness, the roads are quite narrow and busy with lots of people walking and parked up on the streets.

Bernis hostel is a great stay for couples, families and friends! I enjoyed the customer service and interaction with the staff, who are extremely friendly and helpful to us during our stay. For example, we were arriving late, past the check-in time and when we let them know this, they stayed up for us until we arrived and helped us with our luggage and check-in to the room. The room had everything we need, including wardrobes, AC, towels, shampoo in the bathroom and snacks from the mini fridge (although, these would need to be paid for at the end of the stay, but were affordable). It has a parking lot available, which was convenient for us since we had to drive all the way from Cebu. Finally, it felt reassuring that there was a security guard on site at night.

Nothing they couldn't help, if you have a car or rent a motorcycle, the place is great for you because it is about a 10 minute drive from the good beach itself.

First of all, the receptionist, Sir JR, was very welcoming and accomodating. He showed us around and informed us about the sights to see and how to get there. The place was very clean and well-kept and the location is in a quiet area even though it's not that far from the party area. Even before coming here, they were very responsive to my messages on booking.com. The owner was accomodating as well.

Absolutely Everything! My girlfriend and I were so upset that this was fully booked for the week, we wanted to stay longer. Every time we passed we gave heart signs - the best costumer service, they make sure everything you need is there for you and more - the room is so comfortable - the outside kitchen to use was so useful every night and even midnight eating - has solar so we never experience brown out - just outside of town and 3 mins from beach great location (trust me, the beach side hotels are not it)

Location wasn’t ideal, the centre is quite a walk and if done so at night the road is unlit. Helped organise trips but took a deposit to ‘secure’ the booking but that money didn’t go towards the booking at all. Colourful sheets which made it hard to tell if the bed was clean.

Staff were very kind and helpful when organising things, lovely pool and kitchen area and a spacious room.
