Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This is such a lovely place to stay when in Port Barton. The patio outside is perfect to relax after a day exploring, the bed is very comfortable and the room is big and very clean. WiFi works well! Larry and Edith are great hosts, ready to help with anything you might need. You can rent a scooter with them, and I definitely recommend organising the tour with them. 100% recommended to have breakfast next door as it's super yummy!

FranceHard to find negative points, however we could have used a bit more shampoo (but I'm sure, had we asked Larry, he would have supplied more).
Larry was an excellent host, he helped us book our boat tour as well as our bus to El Nido for a good price. He answered all the questions we had regarding our trip in Palawan. Room is big with shelves, table, a big private bathroom and a nice balcony. It was very clean. Lots of room to dry your clothes/bathing suits. Water available on site (5pesos/liter refill). Location is good (calm area but very close to center). Very comfortable beds and good wifi. No AC but the fan was more than enough for us.

SwitzerlandI’m just being picky here, but : - Not much light in the room as it is in the back of the property, but for a short stay it’s totally fine. - Very thin walls so you can hear people in the other rooms (if they’re loud and you haven’t turned the fan on). - The property is located very close to a road. Not a lot of traffic but you definitely here the motorbikes
- The price: it’s very good value for money - The cleanliness : everything was super clean and smelled good (and yet I’m a very picky person regarding this) - The facilities: simple but everything you need (fan, closet, hangers, table inside and outside on the terrace, small carpets for the feet outside the room and outside the bathroom) - The owners: very kind and welcoming (you can also do an island hopping tour with them and get a good discount)

SwitzerlandYou can hear the people outside quite well sinxe the windows cant be fully closed. Also, no warm water (as in almost all places in Port Barton)
Larry and his with Edith were very nice and friendly hosts. I had a really nice stay. The kitchen can be used for cooking and even though it is a little further out the main part of Port Barton it is not even a five minute walk away. Also very helpful with booking tours and transportation Thank you!!

Poland- wifi is very unreliable
We stayed for 5 nights. The room was very spacious and clean and had a shelf system in place, so you could store your clothes and luggage, which was a great addition to the room. The bathroom was clean, and also very spacious. The water pressure was fine. The terrace was a big plus, and great to enjoy your evenings. No AC but the fan was working great. There is a great community kitchen, where you can not only cook but also purchase groceries. Larry, the homestay owner was super helpful, attentive, and very kind. We were able to rent a scooter for good money. 10 minutes walk from the main bus station. 5-minute walk to the beach. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores in walking distance.

CanadaOverall the place was great. Only negative would be the odd early morning you get dogs barking from people walking back from the moon bar up the road which closes at 4am. (Earplugs would be a fix if you are a light sleeper).
The local owners Larry and Edith were both friendly and accommodating. The place was clean and comfortable, very good value for the price. I booked and island hopping / snorkeling trip through Larry on the boat Gloria. The food and crew exceeded my expectations. Also rented a scooter through him which was newer to tour north of town. You also can use the shared kitchen and they sell basic cooking stuff as well at reasonable prices.

The hostel is quiet and very relaxing with all facilities (drinking water, kitchen, fridge, mini market with good prices). Bungalows are new and perfectly clean. Mattress is comfy and there are mosquitos net within the windows. Beautiful painting decorate outside and inside of the bungalows. And last but not least, the owner couple is very nice and friendly. we loved so much this place that we extended our stay. moreover it is probably the best value for the price for an accommodation in Port Barton.

GermanyJust tiny detail: I found the curtains let some light shine through, so it was not super dark at night in the room. But this has been the case anywhere in the Philippines I stayed.
Extremely nice owner (Larry) that helped us with everything we needed (tours, scooter, transport) and always got us the best price. We were treated like family members, even invited to join the New Year‘s Eve dinner. The room itself was large and spotless, and the bed was large and comfortable. Good water pressure in the bathroom. The party locations in the city and the beach are very fast to reach, yet the location is very calm. Overall great experience and value for money.

The room was spacious, new looking and very clean. It's the tidiest place we have been 8n the Philippines so far at a very affordable price. Lary, the owner, informed us of their services (tour, motorbike rental...) upon arrival but he wasn't very insistent, which we liked and ended up booking the island hopping tour with him.

SloveniaVery decent place for the price. The location is good, on a quiet street but near the beach and bus terminal. The owners are very friendly and helpful and can also arrange the island hopping tour and other services for you. The room is clean, pretty big, it comes with a fan, big towel and slippers. There's also a shared kitchen that you can use and where you can get drinking water.
