Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWould have been nice if the hut is equipped with window screen so no insect would come inside and so we could open the windows at night as it was hot during the time of our stay and with the windows closed, the fan was just circulating hot air. A fridge would have been nice to store drinks. The stairs was a killer but we know that from the start.
The host is very helpful. He's a very nice man and he's always there / a phone call away if you have questions or problems with the house. He arranged the tour for us and the motorcycle rent which was very helpful in going to Nacpan Beach. He also helped us in getting a van going to P. Princesa. As for the place, it isolated us from the noise and busy life of the town. It's a place to stay to get closer to nature.

AustraliaOur stay in El Nido was so much fun with many thanks going to our host, Mr Armstrong. He truly is one of a king and a remarkable person. It was if we had our own private guide during our time. He was so happy and welcoming and assisted us with booking tours, bikes and everything else in between. The climb up the stairs is well worth the reward of seeing Mr Armstrong’s smiling face and his loyal companion, Diesel.

NetherlandsOne had to do quite some planning before climbing up, making sure they have enough water and food.
It was secluded yet not too far from the city.

AustraliaThe noise from nightclubs in El Nido was annoying at nighttime.
A unique experience that you will not forget. The location is extraordinary. We loved the fact that we were away from the tourist masses in El Nido. Loved that we needed to walk through a local area to access the steps to the property. The steps are significant but are extremely well made (concrete) with a rope to assist. The lack of an air conditioner was not an issue for us.

AustraliaIf you have some physical disability affecting your ability to climb the steep approximate 136 stairs, then this location may not be for you. For me it was great, as I need the exercise.
The location was lovely amoungst the trees overlooking the sea.

United StatesThe bright white light beaming in through the window. So we had to keep the drapes closed at night, which prevented full airflow.
The views were breathtaking. We spent 2 nights in a traditional dwelling on top of the hill overlooking the bay / port. The hut only had a fan, but it’s super powerful. Also, the steps are NO JOKE. Proceed if you physically can :) especially, when it’s near 90 degree outside. Nevertheless, it’s a very authentic island experience. Sir Armstrong was. Very accommodating and took great care of us! He is full of knowledge about the area. The local neighbors are super warm and welcoming. There is a small confinice store at the bottom of the hill for water and snacks .

PolandThe location is very good, close to the beach and the centre, but the stairs to get up to the house are really something. It's not easy to find the way, so we really recomment to get in touch with Armstrong, who takes care of the place and also manages reservations. He is extraordinarly helpful and kind. Our flight was delayed, the bus to El Nido got flat tyre on the way and we reached up the place around 1am. If he wasn't there outside waiting for us we would never find the way! He also kindly agreed to prepare breakfast earlier than normally to allow us to start the island hopping tour the next morning. When we get pretty bad sunburn he gifted us aloe vera leaves to soothe the pain like the locals do. That aloe was so big we carried it over to New Zealand with us 🙂 We are still very grateful and cannot express our gratitude. Armstrong - you are the best! The house itself was clean and had a very nice patio/weranda to have breakfest on. There was warm water in the shower and a mosquitere around the bed. Not many place to unpack you things, but it wasn't a problem. We visited during a wet season so the vent on the ceiling was a blessing. We strongly recommend this place if you want to meet the greatest host in the Philipines, live next to the main beach and have a jungle-like experience 🙂

By far the best travel experience ever. The place itself is a 10 out of 10 with the best view in town and a cottage just for yourself with everything you need but the host is what this trip to camp talusi hills really made it so special. Armstrong is so helpful and kindhearted. He truly is a legend. Hopefully we will have the chance to come back one day.

FinlandIt was a bit hard to find the place at first and t's very demanding to climb up there. Not for someone not in good shape. The view to sea and town was mostly blocked by dense canopies.
Solitary location with only two bungalows. The feeling of achievement when you get up there in the difficult location with your backpack, walking all those stairs for the first time. Breakfast provided. The multi-talented host Mr. Armstrong has a very big heart.

SlovakiaI missed the air conditioning and better signposting of the access to the accommodation. Due to the high humidity of the air, it was very difficult to dry anything.
I really liked the terrace and the view from it. I also appreciate the great host who was always there for us and very willingly helped us with everything (100% for him).

SlovakiaOur host Armstrong was amazing. He was very attentive, helpful and helped us organize all the activities and even more, beyond our expectations 🙂 He helped us with luggage, and guided us through the town. He made amazing omellette. The jungle is bit calmer than town’s center. For this price you cannot expect the same quality of accommodation as in Europe so keep that in mind. As it’s common in Philippines, there is noise coming from El Nido as well as the animals. In October we havent seen any monkeys. All in all, this was one of the best accommodation we were in, thanks to the lovely host and we would definetly book again 🙂
