The over water bungalow needed work and you could swim from it. It was SUPER loud due to waves and water even came through the floor one night when the weather was bad. We moved to the beach bungalow and it was much better and I better shape overall. A month before arrival we had to cut our stay by one day bc of a flight cancellation. We emailed the property through booking and they agreed to the change. When we arrived, they told us that while they agreed to change the dates we still had to pay for the extra day. Mind you were talking about nearly $1000 USD a day in the Philippines! also, the price of drinks and food are ridiculously high. I understand it’s a high-end resort, but New York City prices just didn’t seem to be appropriate. be aware, this island is remote, and the water is extremely choppy. Getting on and off the dock took a team of people for each person and was a bit terrifying.

The wait staff are amazing. They all knew our names by the end of the first day. We loved the beach bungalow and the view. the food was very good as well.

The food for lunch and dinner are medium for the price. Strongly advice to take the food package. The price of activity on the island are on the high side compared to mainland price.

The location is amazing. The breakfast was fabulous. The Villa on the beach is amazing. Seen Turtle literally on the beach is an amazing experience.

Pool was salt water, food seemed overpriced for being mediocre, boat transfer time was different than scheduled making us wait and rush to catch our land transfer but we did make it! We had no hot water in the evening and morning. Some of the “included” activities like snorkelling felt like less care was given since it was free. There was no one to help us choose snorkel gear and there wasn’t any clean goggles, when we asked someone he disappeared to look for someone else and didn’t come back. We didn’t get to see much snorkelling. Nothing major but something you expect for the amount you’re paying to stay.

Amazing property, views were unreal and facilities were great. Water villa was extraordinary! Glass bottom on balcony was very cool and loungers were very comfortable. they made a very cool display on our bed for our honeymoon!

Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The tour was AMAZING, the guide ( Paul & Captain Ray) were very friendly & Helpful. Which made our experience out standing The Locations during in the tour were incredible. The rooms are extremely clean. The bar drinks are crate & the food is amazing. The welcoming was outstanding, the room decoration up on arrival was perfect. Will visit it again & Highly recommend.

Limited option to participate in tours that are organised by external suppliers. Boats are coming in and out only based on check-in/out of other guests so there is no guarantee you will be able to arrive to the town, or back to the hotel, based on tour schedules of external suppliers. Prices in the resort (food, drinks, spa treatments, tours) are very high - in a whole new pricing level compared to other places in the Philippines. This should be taken into account

Cauayan is among the best resorts we have ever been to. The stay is indeed expensive (ok VERY expensive), but in our opinion definitely worth it. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, the food in the restaurant is SUPERB, service level is the highest available in the Philippines, and the resort's facilities are at great condition. We stayed in a Water Villa, and then moved to a Pool Villa - both rooms were big, comfortable and offered amazing views. Our recommendation is to pay extra for a meal plan (at least half-board). The food is truly very good, but expensive - meal plans will probably help to reduce costs (to an extent). Happy Hour/Happy Day plans allow you to also drink if your not on an All-Inclusive package. Do not skip the sunset track and the private small beach, accessible by a short kayak sailing.

I didn’t like the shower area due to not knowing which knobs to open for the shower head & hot water.

They could have been more accommodating when it came to the meal plan. We signed up for the half-board and quickly realized that we didn't want that much food, and asked to be switched to an a-la-carte plan before we even had our first meal, and they said that they've already charged our card and couldn't refund us, which is a really simple thing to do. We found it quite expensive for the quality. The food in general can be improved.

We stayed for 3 nights in a beach front villa and the whole experience was fabulous! The location is wonderful and absolutely breathtaking. The staff are very attentive and extremely friendly.

Nothing I didn't like. Some minor points are that I'd have liked to have been able to walk around a bit more (no hiking routes around the island currently). Also the gym is a bit small and outdated.

Pretty much everything about the place was amazing. One of the best holiday experiences that I've had.

The wifi. I had to work some things for school while I was there and the wifi was a little unstable and slow. It was also a rainy week.

There was so much food! We availed the full meal plan and it ended up being too much for our family quantity-wise. The beach was great!

Not exactly have things we didn't like. If we need to pick a few things, maybe the taps in the bathtub are very hard to use; the instruction of the safe in the room is wrong. We liked the remote control lights but the remote does not have labels there and we had to try all buttons to turn the lights on or off... again these are all minor things but working on these could make the stay more seamless.

The people there. Especially Allan from Activities and Jolery from the main restaurant. They took very good care of us and made our stay very memorable! Also we like the communication using Whatsapp. that's very efficient.

They do not have contingency accommodation for tourist with early flights and for those tourist who are affected of thypoon, even though we have paid for 3 nights, but we stayed only for 2 nights..

It was all good especially the food and water activities, except for some reasons…

The fact that we were requested to pay € 100 for the van/boat trip to the hotel. We arrived at 21.30, and informed the hotel in advance. In booking.com it was expressly stated that this trip was included in the price, and there was no reference to any exceptions concerning timings. However, after we had already secured the booking, we were informed that due to the late time, we had to pay this extra € 100 for transport. Also this value is crazily high, as we could clearly see that the transport was secured by hotel staff, and it took them around 40 mnts to ensure that we were at the hotel. We raised this issue with the staff, but they were firm in the need to charge this extra and non anticipated fee despite our protests. In the country where we live (not sure if the same in Philipines), this behaviour of charging unannounced fees which btw are rather unbalanced, is clearly unlawful and could result in the hotel being subject to heavy fines.

Location, food, views, quality of the premises. The hotel is quite amazing, and our only negative comment is the one stated below.
