Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaI stayed there for 6 nights just to relax and it was really great. The rooms (had two different ones because I extended) and also the outside area is comfy, welcoming and clean. The staff is amazing and so friendly. During my stay they got a new WiFi which was the best I experienced in the whole Philippines. Perfect for working on the computer.

NetherlandsThere was not always running water, however this is apparently a common thing in port Barton. To tackle this issue they do provide large buckets of water and u can buy bottled water at the reception as well.
For the price everything was very clean, they sell tours as well at a good price, and they offer laundry service as well! + the hosts were just amazing, both of them were so incredibly kind!

Everything about this accommodation was fantastic. The location is good, short walk from the bus station, beach, shops and restaurants. The room was large with a big window and fly screens over the window and door. We were upgraded to a room with private bathroom which was really nice. The unit also has its own little outdoor kitchen area with sink and gas hob. The rooms are set in a mature garden so you get a lot of shade, and there are outdoor seating areas. The whole place is kept clean and tidy, and the owners are lovely, really friendly and helpful. They have a shop on site and also do breakfasts if you don't fancy cooking yourself. The WiFi was OK. We stayed 5 nights and wanted to extend, unfortunately they were fully booked. I would definitely stay here again.

FinlandEverything was just lovely.
We loved to stay here! Location was perfect and hosts were sincere and hospitable. We were prepared for too warm and humid night because we knew that there is no AC. Pleasent suprise was that the fan in the ceiling was so efficient that we slept perfectly fine. We will delfinitely come back to this accommodation, if we ever come back to Port Barton.

FranceMy wife and I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Charity Pension House, largely thanks to the amazing owner, Chris and his family. His friendliness and personal touch really set this place apart. Every night, we had the pleasure of engaging in friendly chess matches, which added a unique and enjoyable aspect to my stay. The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, with excellent shower facilities. Considering the quality of the accommodations, the price was truly amazing – it's a great value for money. Breakfast each morning was a delightful experience. The food was tasty and provided a great start to the day. Furthermore, the convenience of booking boat tours and a van to El Nido directly through the hotel was incredibly helpful. Overall, I highly recommand.

We had an amazing 6 nights stay here. Charity and her family are so welcoming and kind and we loved spending time chatting with them. The rooms are in small cottages, with a small kitchen to use, the garden is nice for relaxing and they also have a shop for anything you need.

United KingdomNo hot water, but not a major issue :) Weak/patchy wifi (but this is true of most of Port Barton)
Nice space to ourselves. Strong shower. Fan in the room was sufficient. Comfy bed. Useful shelves for storage. Kind, friendly hosts. Did laundry here and it was ready the next day. Good location. Everything is within walking distance. Near to some nice food options.

United KingdomThere were quite a lot of ants in the bathroom at all times and also the WiFi was very bad in the rooms- better connection sat out in the garden but that wasn’t ideal when it was raining or at night.
Really comfy clean room. There was a nice seating area outside the room and also in the garden area. Walking distance to port Barton beach and in a 2km radius from other nice beaches. 5min walk from the terminal. can book everything through the hostel. They have a shop also and option to order breakfast which was really good. The staff were incredibly friendly and even lent out snorkels for the beach.

BelgiumWe think they could put the water in the guesthouse (even if they ask a little bit more money). It's not about the price it's just more practical :p

United KingdomAcross Port Barton the wifi can be patchy.
Probably our favourite place in all of the Philippines!! We absolutely loved it here. Kris and Charity are so nice and make you feel at home! We stayed in the green little bungalow and had our own kitchen/seating area/dining area/outside porch area which was shared with just one other 2 person room. It was great! You can buy pancake mix + an egg for 52 pesos and we had pancake for breakfast most days. 1k litre refills for 5 pesos! You can book the island tour directly through them for a much better price, they can also sort transport plus lots of other things for great prices. On the last night they surprised us all with a free family meal. It was so nice and we just felt like we were at home. Their pets are lovely Zeus, Ringo, Tiny and Mimi ( excellent head bops). They rebuilt this place themselves after the typhoon and have done such a good job. They are trying to encourage more environmentally friendly behaviour in the village and are just genuinely nice people. We honestly couldn’t recommend this place more! Loved it!
