How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Hostel is in a great location and clean. The staff were very friendly and most nights there are meet ups in the hostel where you can meet other travellers.

There is only a thin sheet available on the bed, so if you are beside the AC, it can get a bit too cold at night.
Really helpful staff. The food in the bar area is really good and cheaper than most other places (and drinks too). The hostel offers transfers to and from the airport. There is bike rental available. There is a different activity every night too. All in all we had a great time here.

we liked everything.
We had such a great time staying at Chill Out Hostel! The facilities were good, and the staff really friendly and helpful. The location was great, just a short walk from the beach and close to restaurants and bars. The best part was the friendly atmosphere as they organized activities during the week, which was a nice way to meet other travelers and have some fun together. They also have a restaurant with plenty of options to eat and great wifi if you want to work. Overall, we had a good time and would recommend it to others looking for a relaxed yet sociable vibe. Make sure to also check the deals on their website and Instagram account!

The top bunks in our room only have half curtains, but some other rooms have full so it seems like they’re in the process of upgrading :)

Really welcoming staff. Able to check in early which was a huge bonus. Nice restaurant with good food and well priced. Nice chill out area. Dorm rooms are great size and very comfortable beds. Would stay here again for sure

Not much going on at the hostel, was very quiet. Also bare in mind Boracay is expensive!
Private room was nice, not the biggest but a decent size. Private bathroom was close to the room and the shower was separated to the toilet by a slide door which was good as it didn’t get too wet on the floor. Location was perfect.

Staff was very friendly, helpful. Rooms were clean. We had private bathroom so that was plus. In room everything was functional. Food and drinks in restaurant was very good. There was live music night, we played beer pong. People went there from neighboring hostel as well. Happy hour was really happy. There was 30 minutes when selected drinks are not for a only for good price, but for free. Really good atmosphere. It's a hostel but really friendly one.

Showers sometimes not hot but not such a problem on a tropical island
All staff were fantastic - owner was very interested in getting to know the guests and always making sure they had a good time, which made you feel instantly welcome. Hostel bar was cheap and chilled, food was great and reasonably priced for the island. Beds were comfy and had everything you need to have a comfortable stay in a dorm. One of best hostels I’ve stayed in.

AC in dorms too cold. Need to bring your own padlock for locker. Not a complaint, just something to be aware of. Horrible, too loud dance music every night in the bar as soon as the sun set tho maybe that's just my age. Just not very chilled when you're eating/ trying to talk.
Nice chill out zone and attached bar/ restaurant with some good meals and a few veggie options and reasonable prices. . Possibly the cheapest beer on the island also. Free water refills Near a few other little bars, cafes and shops and only 5- 10 minutes walk to white beach. Even closer to beach on the east side.

If you wanted hot water in the shower, the water flow rate decreased. This wasn't really a problem. I will come again one day to experience the same days
Definitely this hotel was very good whether you were alone or not. I wish I could stay a little longer. If I come to Boracaya again, I will stay here again. You notice that the rooms were cleaned daily. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space to socialize. The staff and the hotel owner were very nice. Thanks for everything.

Great location, just a short walk to D’Mall and there is a stop for the hop on hop off bus which travels all over the island just a few minutes down the road. The staff are very friendly. The bar and restaurant is a great area to eat, drink and get to know the fellow hostel goers. Rooms are clean and comfortable

Sometimes it gets a little rowdy at odd hours in the middle of the night, but that’s to be expected when people are on holiday.
They organize pretty great events most nights. Starts off with a free half hour happy hour which was a nice way to meet fellow travelers. The staff are also pretty great. Made me feel right at home.
