Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Ukrainebet is small and jumpy and very difficult to sleep on. Shower is falling apart. You pay 50k pesos per night and they dont even clean this room during your stay. Kitchen is dirty, with cats and dogs and food options are very limited.
Lets put it straight, this is absolutely stunning location for which you will need to sacrifice your comfort and value for money.

PhilippinesThe place is too far and we arrive there, it’s not the way we expect it to be. It’s only good in the pictures, none else. The room itself is not properly maintained, the bathtub (which is popular in their content and will easily capture your attention) is NOT really that good. Again, it will only be good on your content. (Expectation vs reality) We have stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights (because we’ve paid for it already) and every night it’s getting worst and worst. Since it’s too far, we don’t have a choice but to order their food on their menu that most of the time is unavailable nor worst is not edible (like the old French fries we ordered) On our second night, we need to kill some insects (well hornets ☹️) to make ourselves felt comfortable during our sleep. It’s NOT advisable to stay here for longer days as you will feel more uncomfortable as day goes by.
The scenery is great and their tour activities (price excluded)

PhilippinesThis resort could have been 5-star if efforts were done for its upkeep. Now it looks sad and neglected. Rusty hinges, missing parts of the water closet, very cheap looking door rugs, little things that as a whole give a definite sense of neglect. And though the staff are very friendly and did their best, it is apparent that they do not have training in the hospitality industry. They come off as cheap labor hired to prop up a dying business. Sad but that is the impression I got from my stay. I fervently hope the owners can rehabilitate the resort.
The location of the resort - the waters surrounding the resort - is awesome, nature at its best. The architecture of the resort, the structure of the facilities are very good. If only these facilities were maintained properly; unfortunately they are not.

SwitzerlandBear in mind: it is an old Resort that not only had its best days behind but also suffered severe damage from the last supertyphoon. The rooms are repaired and everything functions again, but there is visible damage and facilities are more basic than they previously used to be. It takes 2 hours by private boat transfer to get there from Dapa. Prepare yourself to get wet, especially if it rains or if the sea is rough. The Kayaks and SUPs are very basic and you won't get very far with them. If you're an active traveller, you will get bored after two days since you're kinda stuck there because of its remoteness.
The Location is perfect! Staff is friendly and the rooms are spacious and clean. Sohoton Coves are litterally next to it!

JapanComparing it to all the instagram videos and other hyped up posts, the place is far from what is shown. Since the guests also typically know what they’re taking a photo of and editing is done so well really, i think many of the areas really needed upkeep. Again as mentioned earlier, i think it was really difficult on them too not to have much staff or maybe to have gone through the pandemic the past months. The place really does have potential to grow should management be able to maintain the place. But our jacuzzi for instance had a hole and the actual jacuzzi nozzle broke on the first day, we also had the experience of not having to be able to buy anything from them. For example they didn’t have toiletries so if you will go here please bring your own toiletries, it’s also probably because it takes about 1 and a half hours to get to the resort from General Luna. It is pretty far from the rest of the city and the area, but very near places to visit around Soccoro. most of the things i didn’t like weren’t really because they weren’t a nice resort, its just that I think there could be a lot of room for improvement especially it is one of the approved hotels under LGU to operate. We actually heard a customer complain the same away about how it seems like their expectations vs. reality really didn’t match. a lot of the paddle boards were also broken and not maintained. I think they really just have a maintenance issue since the place really was very spacious with a lot of things but maybe the pandemic hit them hard. We hope that they can improve the facilities so that the next guests wouldn’t feel the same way and really be able to appreciate the beauty of Socorro.
The staff were very friendly and they helped us to arrange a lot of our tours including our late boat ride which initially was not going to happen since the place was pretty far. I think the upside to the area were the staff and the location. Honestly speaking, I was expecting the place to be a lot more than it was, I wasn’t expecting a lot but I think the place does have potential to grow into a better resort. It also probably went through the pandemic and not having much guests so there were a lot of things to improve on. However I did really love the location and it was nice that the place was secluded and you could easily swim into the ocean or into the middle of the lagoon/seaview that it has and take plenty of photos and grow good memories from the sea. The location and the staff are what makes the place bearable. We’re not very picky people but i do feel as though they might encounter a few disappointed guests. I do not discourage you though to come here, I just would like to point out that it is a well located place with very friendly staff! Just don’t expect much of the resorts ambiance. Although I would have to point out the view is amazing from the balcony really! just don’t expect 5 star, but the place is pretty decent just to stay in if you’d like to go around Socorro. The staff really helped us arrange a lot of things so I was actually very happy, they even refunded us 500 pesos from the boatride that overcharged us on the first day. I think that kind of attitude does help us appreciate a lot of the simpler things and their hospitality is something I will not forget. Also the location was very near a lot of the sites in Socorro. I cannot deny though that the location is pretty picturesque which makes it really easy too to advertise. The views are perfect for a good rest and also great to take in after a long day.

RomaniaWe paid for the room up front. Then bad weather (extreme) came and we were unable to get to the hotel, as it’s on an island. There was no boat service as inclement weather and large waves prevented all boats from going out. We asked for a refund, they flat out refused, claiming it’s booking.com policy (booking.com said it’s up to the hotel, not up to them). We swallowed this as bad luck. But then we asked for an invoice and they refused again. They gave us a screenshot of our booking.com reservation claiming that was the invoice. It is clear they are pocketing the money and keeping it off the books as well. Which is another word for stealing. Shame.
We liked the photos on Booking, which is why we decided to stay here.

QatarThe resort and the villas are neglected, worn, and old. It could still be cute with a bit of effort– but no-one is caring for the facilities. nowhere did we see any effort to make this an eco resort. They don’t take credit card, cash only & NO RECEIPTS provided. Paypal for food only. The cost of the tours from this resort are VERY EXPENSIVE so make sure you bring plenty of cash. Unless you are able to call another boat operator you are stuck with the resort’s overpriced services. No hot water in our villa, Floor tiles in our villa were slippery if wet – absolute risk. Spa & bathroom old and worn; Bed was OK – no mattress protector so it was a little uncomfortable; pillows average. Nowhere to hang clothes. NO introduction when you arrive – disappointing responses to questions eg how to walk to the beach closeby (despite advertising you will enjoy walks around the resort - none appear available) Staff didn’t really care about anything. this was really very strange.Difficult to get anyone's attention as they are all busy on wifi. Pool area was cracked and empty; The reception and dining area – below standard with old, worn plastic tables and chairs … We found many menu items were unavailable eg bread Meals take a long time - 1st night 1 hour to arrive; 2nd night 1.5 hours …. The food was Ok as we stuck with the basics; limited but OK bar. Wifi is spotty – the staff are too busy using the wifi and bandwidth Difficult to distinguish the staff from guests - they are sitting around using the wifi and facilities as if it is their own .. perhaps it is. The staffs’ children were using apps / wifi at maximum volume which was incredibly noisy and annoying since you couldn’t go anywhere else to use wifi. Note - these were not guests ... they were sitting in the dining/wifi area. Kayaks + paddle boards look like they were washed up after a storm – really bad shape.

PhilippinesFor coffee lovers, better to bring your bag of beans or coffee makers if you are not a fan of instant coffee. Bring your water tumbler too. The water is only available at the restaurant. Light snacks are not available specially if you like chips.
Club Tara is not that bad. Don’t believe in the worst reviews given by the other guests. First, it is not a five-star resort, don’t expect much in the facilities. There is an ongoing renovation during our visit, so expect improvements soon. The resort has comfortable rooms where you can see the beauty of nature and a jacuzzi in each room. Their staff members are amiable, accommodating, and helpful. A special mention to Bonga. She was such a darling to us. You will not regret having her with you during your meal time. The foods we ordered were excellent. They have a good cook there. The place is remote, so expect a bad mobile internet connection. But that will be the best time to unwind. Their location is perfect if you want to escape the noise and stress of the city. Just use their free surfboard or kayak because there are many places to explore. There is a part where it feels like you are in the middle of the jungle. It’s total bliss and peaceful out there. Overall, we enjoyed our three-night stay at the resort. It’s worth the money.

Philippines1. The kayaks were very old and dilapidated. Please invest in new kayaks. 2. There is no wifi in the rooms (this did not bother me much coz I can enjoy my vacation with a good book. If you need Netflix in your life even on vacation, then just download episodes to your phone before the trip) Despite these, I still strongly recommend that you stay here for a couple of nights. Come here knowing it’s an old 3-star resort but with unbeatable views and a stone’s throw away from Sohoton Cove.
Our stay in Club Tara was amazing! I loved waking up in the morning and seeing the beautiful view of the cove from our balcony. I booked Club Tara despite the negative reviews because I knew what was important to me as a traveler and that’s a great view and great location. This is the best jump-off point to do the Sohoton Cove Tour because it’s just a short boat ride away (as compared to a 2-hr boat ride if you were coming from Siargao’s main island). Lastly, the service was fantastic thanks to Liwanie, she was the warmest and most accommodating amongst all the staff. She made our stay very pleasant and we can see that she was very hardworking. I hope the management reads this because she really deserves some recognition. Overall, the price is very cheap since it’s a 3-star resort, but given the stunning views from the balcony and the great location, I would say it offers a GREAT value for your money!

This is a wonderful little resort. Yes, the facilities are a bit rundown due the typhoons and earthquake happened here not to long ago, but the staff is amazing, and the location is unbeatable!!! Fantastic!!!! If you stay here, go to Sohoton cave with there’s tour. You pay probably a little more but you will get to the lagoon way before the bog groups from the surrounding main islands. You will swim alone with the jellyfish and the nature is unbelievable without any noise. Food was ok, you dont come here for culinary experience. Thank you club tara!!!
