Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe staff and the location. If you're not fond with the average Starbucks loving tourists and want to feel the true Filipino spirit and want to be surrounded with the friendliest Asians on the planet, then this is the place for ya. You'll be greeted and feel absolutely safe in this warm-heartedly and lovely fishing area of El Nido.

SpainRoom was really hot and the fans didnt work properly and were not enough for everyone. But I told Gordon and he bought some for the following day. It could be a bit cleaner.
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, they can run you through any question you might ask. The location was great, it's in a filipino neighbourhood, the last part of the path is between houses, first time is a bit tricky to find, even intimidating, but once you are there you realised everyone is friendly and super safe. It's cool to be close to the town but also see how filipino people live. The vibe in the hostel was nice!

United KingdomIt got so hot in the room, they explained why they didn’t have AC which is more than understandable but I think if maybe the fans were placed strategically to reach the beds better that would help, it was difficult to sleep. I also got a lot of bites as the window near my bed had no mosquito net. Also it’s a bit of a walk to get to the nearest road and even further to get to the centre of el nido. The walk goes through an area with really friendly locals but a really bad smell from locals burning rubber / other rubbish, barbecuing fish etc
The owners were amazing! Helping to book tours, transport the following day, helping us carry our bags on the long walk to the room and there was also free water refills and refreshments available in the kitchen. They also upgraded us to a private room when we arrived for no extra cost which was very kind

GermanyA bit hard to find the first time. Bunk beds are a bit old, doesn't have shelf, socket, etc. I would have liked more of a "comfy common area".
Big, traditional wooden building. Very roomy inside, and right on the water. The couple who run the place are nice and helpful. Big lockers. Not that far from the center but quiet. I liked that it was in an area of the town that I probably wouldn't have visited otherwise. Breakfast (banana pancakes) were great!!

Austria-horrible towels -Internet didn't work that great in the room -no mosquito net in the private room (but they offered to somehow put one up, if we need it) -the boat expedition we booked through them was a bit of a mess, but they reacted very well and understanding to our feedback
Great location, if you want it a bit more quiet, but still in walkable distance to the town center. The hosts are very welcoming and will help you to organize tours or plan activities. Also: -best breakfast pancakes!!!!!!!! -free water and tea -USB plugs -balcony with great view

United KingdomThe owners are very good people with a beautiful heart and that was reflected in all the experience of staying with them. The location is the best because is not in the main center but super close, just 10 minutes walking and because of that you get to sleep so good. So calm! There is a shared place where you can eat or use the computer or just chill with beautiful views of the see and you get the nice breeze so is not that hot there😊 They also offer very tasty breakfast 😋 One of the best things are the kids they live near by, they are so friendly always excited to see you. The whole experience made me feel as home.

United KingdomWould love a comfy chair. No hanging space. It’s quite a way from the centre of town, well into the ‘local living’ area, making it tricky to find and navigate through (but also helped you see the other side of life). Bathroom is challengingly tiny with a shower head soaking everything in the room.
Gordon and his wife were lovely, very informative, helpful and flexible. The property had a good view, beds were fine, nice balcony, fan and air con, huge breakfast, free tea/coffee/water, organised transport.

AustraliaWe stayed in a 4 bed private room with our 2 kids. Had its own bathroom and little balcony Great location at the quiet end of El Nido and only a 5 min walk to the main area You need to walk through a little fishing village to get there which is really cool (locals are very friendly) Very friendly and helpful hosts who go out of their way to make sure you have a nice stay. Try the banana pancakes for breakfast, real good Great budget accommodation!

Italywasn’t super clean but was still okay. it’s located in a local neighbourhood which means do not expect comfort. Although I love staying in places like these, if I were alone at night I would feel a bit uncomfortable walking home by myself and you have to as it cannot be reached with a Tuktuk. this is just my impression but I have to say it
very cheap and convenient to stay there, Gordo and his Cristina are the best, very friendly and lovely people!

United KingdomNo AC, but plenty of fans in the dorm to make up for it.
We loved the location. It is a ten minute walk from the main tourist 'strip', and a great insight into real and local life in El Nido. It is a very unique location, nested in between the rocks and right on the sea. Unique, beautiful and surrounded by extremely friendly locals who were always asking us how we were and eager to help by pointing us in the right direction. We felt completely safe. We loved the hosts. Gordon and Christina are extremely welcoming, interesting and special people. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was always clean. Two of us were working remotely and the WIFI worked smoothly the whole time.

United KingdomThere were some power cuts in the area, so the room did get a bit hot without the fans running.
I felt very well looked after, they booked my Island trip and transport for me and were very helpful with all my questions. Quite liked that it was a bit outside from the touristy area within the local community, but still in easy walking distance to get dinner/go out. Also enjoyed the breakfast, reasonably priced, decent portions and tastes great.
