Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyHonestly, the staff: going to the front desk was like a game of Russian roulette: you never know if the front desk person was going to be kind, disrespectful, knowledgable or indifferent. When you pay over 400EUR a night for a room, you hope that the hotel staff is trained accordingly and seamlessly to offer you an experience that is cohesive to the stars hotels boast about. Some female members of the staff particularly at the front desk were cold, distant and indifferent and it almost felt like you bothered them with your questions. It was such a shame for me because that hotel has a lot of potential to be even greater than it is but certain members of the staff are bringing its potential down.
Super clean and comfortable rooms. The pool was amazing.

PhilippinesNothing.
The room and the bathroom were very clean and well appointed. Even had bedroom slippers that were thicker than usual. Moreover, I like that they had a nook where our luggages can be kept. Lastly, I thought that their location being next to Mitsukoshi was just great.

Isle of ManWe had 1 evening at No.8 China House. Excellent food! However the server took almost 30 minutes to take our order. Even a customer sat down after us got served first.
We LOVED everything about Grand Hyatt. Best hotel you can book! Beds are so comfortable, great facilities, 24/7 gym, beautiful spa area and excellent staff. From Matt checking us in, Genesis and Ivy warm welcome every morning for breakfast, Maricel on floor 6 and Shiela for the fantastic massage! I would recommend this hotel to everyone

United StatesAloofness of staff hospitality
The hotel is definitely Grand. It had an escalator to go up to second floor. Prime location to nearby malls and restaurants. The reception area is huge with high ceilings. Check-in was organized and smooth. Our room was in the 55th floor with an awesome view of the city. Bed was firm and comfortable. Great Wi-Fi. It It also included club access to their executive lounge on the 57th floor. The food was continental for breakfast, and happy hour you do get to enjoy wine and spirits with finger snack foods, and it has an even better view of metro Manila. Overall, for being a 5 star hotel staff interactions lacked warmth and sincerity. The hotel vibe felt business-like. The room itself did not feel luxurious compared to the other 5 star hotel we've stayed in Manila. The only good thing about this hotel is the view and the pool. We also ate in the Lobby/Bar lounge area, and the food was just basic. They do have other restaurants on-site which we didn't get to visit.

Rooms are spectacular - you can have a bath and look out at the view over the city! Staff are amazingly helpful and cannot do enough for you, lots of nice restaurants and shops within walking distance. The breakfast buffet is next level - I've never seen that variety anywhere else. The rooftop pool and gym amenities are great. To top it off, you even have a rooftop bar with live music and views across all of Manila. The whole stay was wonderful.

United StatesIt was a little on the expensive side for the city. With it being the tallest building in the Philippines there were times you had to wait for a lift, but this was just a minor inconvenience.
The staff were very warm. The hotel facilities were clean and comfortable. It was nice having the bathroom facilities separated. The view over the city was great. Nice gym/ fitness facilities, inclusive of sauna and steam room. The breakfast had more than enough variety and would recommend it for sure. Strong WiFi, and found the water temperature/ pressure to be appropriate.
