Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The property is a lovely little hospital with excellent, helpful and friendly staff. The room was comfortable and clean, and the kitchen and fridge area, including free drinking water and tea and coffee, were well equipped and well maintained.

It was nice. The Hostel is clean and comfortable. The room for two people was small but has everything you need. The people there are very professional and nice! I liked my stay here and would recommend the Hostel.

HungaryIt's a little bit far from the city centre, but you can call a tuktuk or rent a motorbike for cheap. So I still recommend to stay here :)
The stuff is very nice and whole area is very beautiful and has a positive vibe. We loved being here, and it was hard to leave. The changers on the walls are not compatible with European devices, but they gave an adapter and you can also buy it. The Bamboo house war very clean and tidy, the tours we booked was well organised. They are very helpful and flexible with planning. The scuba diving was amazing. I hope we will see each other on the future.

NetherlandsThe only thing we really didn’t like was the lack of noise isolation from the direct neighbours. You could hear people talk and more like they were in your room. Especially when people get back at night very drunk it’s not a pleasure listening to all “that”…
Very nice and calm area. A 10-15 minute walk to the center. Beds are very comfortable and nice hot showers!

PolandThe 'bedroom' is rather really small, and the AC is set up in a way that goes straight on your head (we ended up sleeping the other way around, and after the first night we caught the cold)
The bathroom was really nice, and the place on its own was super cool. The staff was extremely helpful, they organized transport from the airport for us and later on transport for the ferry:)

SpainThe way to the dorm does not have a roof so if it rains it could be inconvenient. There are also many roosters singing since 5am - it didn't bother me but in case you're a light sleeper!
Basic but great small hostel! I would recommend it. Clean, 5min walking to the center, surrounded by local stores. Has a small kitchen and you can prepare yourself coffee and tea anytime. Staff were nice. You can book tours with them too if you want to avoid looking for options. I would recommend other companies as I didn't have the best experience but of course this is not the hostel's fault.

New ZealandRoom is spacious but no privacy. To be honest, it wasn’t that bad. Hot water didn’t work in the room but there were alternative bathrooms with hot water. Overall not much to complain about.
Staff were the best!! Super, super helpful with everything like booking tours, ferries, transport anywhere and recommendations for places to eat. Everything was easy to do because of them. One even killed a cockroach for me. Great air conditioning and shared space outdoors with complimentary water, tea and coffee. Place is close to main road with cafes and restaurants, massage parlour, bakery and sari-sari store. Bathroom and toilet were clean! There’s a bedside table with a locker but BYO padlock.

MaltaThe night shift staff are lazy and not useful when we ask for stuff. We didn’t even really feel like they’re caretakers lol. Also, the room was kinda small so it was hard to move inside. And we were not provided with a place to hang our wet clothes when all other rooms had one. We asked but we were told there was none available. We were only given the next day when the others checked out already and we asked about it. Another thing we really didn’t like was the big group of Filipino guests from Luzon. They were VERY NOISY from dawn til late night as if they own the whole place. We requested for the night shift staff to tell them to lower their voices cause there are other guests in the hostel (which is us), but the night shift staff didn’t do anything lol. She just let them keep being noisy. We had to tell the Filipino group ourselves because they wouldn’t stop with the very loud voices and laughs (and it was already past 10pm that time). We were also woken up very early the next day cause they were really noisy at 6am already. If only the caretakers took action themselves because they know it’s a hostel and normal voices can be heard inside the rooms so what more if they were really loud, right?
I like how the day shift staff is very polite and hardworking. She’s very welcoming and attentive to the needs of the guests. The kitchen was also useful as they have a lot of stuff you can use. And the common places are cleaned regularly.
