Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyEverything was great!
Our stay at Hidden Valley was absolutely amazing! The cottages are in the middle of the forest, and the views are stunning! Our room and bathroom were very comfortable. The owner, Richard, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming - we felt at home from the very first second! If you stay at Hidden Valley, we highly recommend eating dinner here because Richard's wife, Mel, is a fantastic chef - we had one of our best dinners in the Philippines here!

Everything was amazing! You're lucky if you see free dates and can stay at Richard's and Meg's Hidden Valley. Hosts are super nice and friendly. We felt like we're staying with our family members. House is super clean and has all necessary amenities. Besides that, the view is stunning - we saw the best sunset view in Philippines here. Last but not least - Meg is an amazing chef. Hosts has a little restaurant too. The food they serve there was the most delicious that we ate in whole Philippines.

GermanyNothing, it was amazing. If you don‘t have a motorbike it is a bit harder to get to but much nicer than staying in San Juan.
Unfortunately I was sick when I arrived and even before my arrival I was taken care of so well by the staff. We were allowed to check in early, I was served fresh made tea for free and the room was one of the nicest I have ever seen. The location was beautiful and the staff was incredibly kind and cared so well. The food was amazing and they gave us excellent tips for the island. They also had an incredible attention for detail and were so attentive and respected all extra wishes.

United StatesEverything is great, but there is a church down the valley that might play loud music early in the morning. Bring some ear plugs if you’re sensitive to noise.

Lovely family owned property, the owners are great cooks. The view was amazing and perfect location if you want to get away from the tourist areas, right in the heart of the countryside which we loved driving through with the bikes we hired.

QatarCan't be helped - but it is a little tricky to find in the dark. It is well signposted from the Balete Tree.
The resort has a restaurant and bar on-site which has FABULOUS food; really comfortable bed; plenty of hot water; AC when we needed it; lovely balcony and view. Owners live onsite and nothing was too much trouble. Friendly and efficient staff. We found the location very central for exploring Siquijor island. Market for fruit, mall shops for water or other incidentals, an easy walk away.

United StatesExcellent stay in a beautiful comfortable cabaña with spectacular views. It is quiet and peaceful. Bed was comfortable. Food prepared by Meg is fantastic! We didn’t eat any meals outside. We had a great time, learned a few things about the island and got solid recommendations on places to visit. We enjoyed our conversations with Richard. Circumstances permitting, we would have stayed longer.

PolandOnly thing I can think of, that I already noted to Meg is the room’s furniture - it could be drastically improved by adding a simple drawer to put your stuff in, some shelf in the bathroom and maybe a lamp. But none of the above were that important
Everything was nothing short of amazing. The location is simply stunning, with lush forest surrounding the property. Meg and Richard are most welcoming, kind and respectful hosts who were eager to assist with all our needs - they even helped us with the laundry. Stay in Hidden Valley was the highlight of our trip so far - the comfort of the place, Meg’s food and the kidness of the staff made everything much better.

Richard and Meg are such nice people; they welcommed us in the best way possible and brought us to the port without a doubt when we had to leave. The accomodation was above expectations (and they were high already). The rooms are gorgeous and contain everything you need for a pleasant stay. The main area is really nice and cozy if you want to get a drink or a bite (the food is amazing!!!!! Meg used to be a cook and makes the best meals we ate in Siquijor). The staff is really kind and they also have 2 sweet cats and a small puppy! Overall, amazing stay and amazing people!

AustraliaI had an absolutely incredible stay at Hidden Valley in Siquijor! Meg, the host, is an absolute gem. Her kindness and hospitality truly made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. She went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect. Meg's culinary skills are nothing short of amazing. Her food was so delicious that I didn't feel the need to dine anywhere else during my visit. Every meal was a delightful culinary experience, and I eagerly anticipated each dish. In addition to Meg, the girls working there were equally wonderful. Their attentiveness and friendliness added to the overall warmth of the place. Thanks to Mer Cy and J Hidden Valley is truly a hidden gem, and I can't recommend it enough. It's a perfect combination of warm hospitality, incredible food, and a beautiful setting. My stay there was nothing short of magical, and I can't wait to return. Thank you, Meg and the entire Hidden Valley team, for making my Siquijor experience unforgettable!
