Location is a bit far from town a 15 minute walk so it could be very hot but there would always be an option to ride the tuktuk or rent a bike.

This accommodation has the best and the most accommodating staff in the island. It was my 5th time in El Nido and this is the first time I discovered "Sitio Caalan" It was very quiet and peaceful. Sir Nico and Ms. Clarissa made sure to do everything I requested from new towels to Insect Repellent.

While this hotel offers a charming, off-the-beaten-path location on Caalan Beach, it does come with some considerations. Reaching the beach by "tuptup" (local jeepneys) can be challenging. Many drivers might not be familiar with the area. Additionally, the hotel is situated near a rooster farm, so expect a pre-dawn wake-up call with their crowing. Be aware of these factors if you prefer a more centrally located or quieter stay.

It is a good hotel, with friendly staff and spacious rooms with cupboards and a washing line for me to dry my clothes. OK shower with decent pressure and warm water.

Although a pleasant stay, the Aircon felt very far from the bed meaning it's effect was limited and there was no access to drinking water. There are lots of stray dogs in the roads surrounding the cottages and they were very noisy in the middle of the night - I know this isn't something the hotel can change but it's something to be aware of if you're a light sleeper.

Room was big and we were able to check in early which was great!

There is a bit of a walk till the main centre of the town, but is not bad.

But, I had the first room from the street. The noise from the street was extremely loud. First night many dogs were barking and fighting. Very annoying and early early morning around 4 a few roasters started their wake up routine😂 try to avoid room 101

Nice little garden, with a small kitchen incl. fridge to use. Room is big and hot water in the shower. Airco works well. Staff is really friendly, they want to help you with transfer/tours/suggestions. She even made us a little pancake to try. Amazing and delicious. Overall a nice place. O would definitely recommend this place.......

The water in shower is quite weak. Electricity keeps on cutting off. They should consider working with other tour operators for both private excursions and transfers. Our private boat trip didn’t go as planned and our private transfer had an extra passenger.

The caretakers were lovely and very helpful. They helped us organise activity and transfers. Location is 20 min away from the centre but it’s nice and peaceful in the area. Price is reasonable considering location and amenities.

The property is a bit of a walk from the main town and the beach close by was more for wading than swimming. Lots of rock.

Place was really nice. Room had air conditioner and TV. Clean and secluded. Was a great value compared to the others we stayed. Just wish it wasn’t just one night.

The host offered to arrange a tricycle for us to the bus station, but we ended up paying him an extortionate amount for it. Bit of a shame as we’d enjoyed our stay up until then.

The first room we stayed in was near the road and extremely noisy with a range of different sounds - frogs, dogs, chickens. Also can hear motorbikes/trikes going by and very loud. This of course is not the fault of the accommodation but would recommend earplugs. We moved room on our 2nd day as we realised there were termites eating through the wood in a corner of the room. Signal at this end of the village is very poor. No WiFi which we knew but the sim card signal is also very bad. Again not the fault of accommodation but just to note if you need to use your phone/data.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and had a real duvet on the bed! Good shower with hot water and good water pressure. About 15 minutes walk from the centre, close to locals homes which we enjoyed.

Not a negative, but rather stating the fact: it's loud at night. Dogs, cicadas, frogs, and gods know what else.. Ear plugs are a must if you're not used to it.
