Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesIt was like coming home to family—from the time they greeted us when we arrived to when they sent us off. Ate Jean was always so welcoming and Kuya Lhoy super patient! He gave us a tour and was very accommodating to our requests. Super thank you!

United KingdomIf you’re considering staying here, just do it! Absolutely amazing family, Lhoy and Jean really look after you and help you with tours, transport and suggestions of what to see around bohol. The little hut is basic but lovely, it’s all you need and a good price for a private room!

SingaporeRoosters may crow at 3am in the morning. Ask for earplugs if you have issues.
Very kind and good service. The meals served here is better than anything served outside. Ask for eggplant! Loloy can help you with transportation and tours for a very reasonable price. Free wifi which is possibly the best you can get for the rural area (while cellular data is spotty). Even managed to do a urgent Teams meeting call with no hiccups.

United KingdomNothing - the WiFi dropped out at times but this was no problem.
Amazing homely hostel. The hosts are so helpful and give such detailed information on all trips, including underrated things we’d never heard of. The location is very central and easily accessible by bus. You can rent a bike here too. Dinner and breakfast is an additional fee but very worth the money, it felt like being at home. Good social area to meet other guests when eating dinner.

CanadaIt's a small ride from the bus station or main road but he picked us up with his tricycle!
Lhoy and Jean were one of the best host we had in the philippines. You have to eat dinner there at some point, cheap price to get one of the best and diverse local meal we had. Even tho you stay in huts and the comfort room is separate, they spend hours cleaning everything in the morning so that there is no bugs, spiders or else. Lhoy has scooters to rent and a tricycle to help his guests. When you arrive, he has a small presentation where he suggest the best attractions, touristic and non touristic spots to go in bohol. We followed his recomandations for 2 days and the island was great!

United KingdomThe meals on offer (I had breakfast and dinner) were delicious and very reasonably priced. The rooms are delightful, it was nice to have my own space as a solo traveller. The rooms are outside in a garden, so be warned that bugs cannot be kept 100% away, despite the very clean conditions of the accommodation. Lhoy and Jean are wonderful hosts, very accommodating, and will ensure you have a wonderful stay in Bohol - they made my trip!

United StatesSuch a nice and kind family. I really enjoyed my stay and the location right in the middle of the village with nice neighbors. You can get a reel feel of the Philippines far from touristy hotels. WiFi was really good, food was abundant and delicious. Lehoy, Jean and their family were very welcoming, smiling and attentive. I noticed that when I left next day and went to a foreign owned hotel. The hospitality was missing in that hotel after my stay with Lhoy and Jean. We went to the adventure park which was quite expensive but worth to try. The huts are very simple and small and you will get up early with the birds but a nice experience and VERY clean. Thank you so much and all the best!

Indonesia-
Our stay at the hostel was awesome. We didn't have the best weather, but the owners Lhoy and Jean made the stay really unique and enjoyable. The food was tasty, we got to try fresh fruits and cocoa drinks. Lhoy took us on a hike with a nice view on the chocolate hills while avoiding large groups of tourists. Locationwise the hostel is superb and the most interesting locations are easily reachable with a scooter. The bungalos are simple, yet comfy and we didn't have any problems with mosquitos. Overall I can absolutely recommend this homestay for people that are looking for an adventurous experience in Bohol!

We had the best time with Lhoy and Jean's family. They are the nicest people and their home is a little paradise in the middle of nature. Lhoy drove us around during our stay, which was very convenient and showed us some really nice spots around. The food is really good too ! Thank you again for everything !

SingaporeLhoy and Jean were absolutely amazing - could not have asked for better hosts. As soon as we arrived we felt so at home and were treated like family - Lhoy told us the best places to visit, Jean cooked lovely meals, and anything we wanted to see or do they made sure we were able to (including some super amazing local spots). Lhoy even drove us over an hour away to catch a ferry at 4am ! The location is perfect for visiting the chocolate hills and the rest of Bohol !

GermanyWe really enjoyed our time at Lhoys and jeans homestay. They are so friendly and helpful and explained us a lot about the life in the Philippines and showed us a lot of things nearby. Jean is a really good cook and Lhoys helped us with learning to ride motorbike. Even the rain wasn't a problem because it's really cosy in the tiny little houses. And when the sun came out the next morning we were the first at the chocolate hills because it's just 10 min by motorbike. Reaching the place by public transport is also no problem. Big recommendation!!

BelgiumThe annual January Rainy Season!!
What a nice surprise awaited us when we arrived. Very authentic and practical huts housing very comfy beds, all set in a beautiful garden bursting with lots of orchids. Above all, the host couple of Lhoy and Jean are just so friendly and helpful. Their dining area was a favourite place to sit and enjoy a cold beer, dinner, breakfast, or just meet fellow travellers and our hosts We were there for 3 nights at the worst of the Rainy Season, but we're lucky for our trip to the Chocolate Hills Visit Centre in that the rain stopped and the clouds lifted for all the time we were there. The centre is just 15 minutes by motorbike Jean is a very charming woman who takes a real interest in taking care of her guests, and prepared dinner for the guests each evening. She also was happy to prepare for us some fish and veggies we brought back from our trips. Dinner was a good social moment where the different couples/family groups met and talked. Lhoy is very hands on, he will offer to organise or do himself a wide range of visits and activities for you. A very memorable stay. It was like leaving family after our short stay Thanks, Jean and Lhoy, for your hospitality and care, it was greatly appreciated

United KingdomEverything was perfect. Maybe if you have a fear of spiders then prepare yourself. But Lhoy will deal with spiders if you need him to! I was brave with the only 2 I saw.
Lhoy and Jean are probably the nicest people I have ever met. All they want is for their guests to be happy and will go above and beyond to make that happen. Lhoy will tell you all the best places to go and even takes you on a few trips. The hostel is perfect and is one of my favorite places I've stayed in my four months in Southeast Asia. The rooms are basic with a mattress and net but that is all you need! The dining area is lovely and the food was good. They can cater for vegans and vegetarians. I slept well. The roosters are cute! The toilet and shower was very clean, thank you Jean! Not sure what else to say other than to tell others to please book this place! We loved it and will be back! It felt like I second home and we loved Bohol because of our stay here. Also, it is easy to get to Batuan from the airport or pier. Literally a couple of hundred pesos. Wifi was fabulous.

We absolutely loved Lhoy & Jean’s place! They go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The meals were amazing and Lhoy took us to see the fireflies in the evening and gave us a tour of the garden which has all the fruit & veggies that they prepare. Lhoy explained how to process the cocoa that grow in the garden and we got to try some, it was truly amazing 🤩
